Tree Service Reviews in Richmond

Originally we scheduled the service to be performed on Friday, April 25 and we called that morning to verify the time of arrival and were told, he didn't know we were on the schedule for that day and was out of town. We rescheduled for Friday, May 2 and called on Thursday, May 1 to confirm the time and were told between 11 and 11:30 am. They showed up at 11:30 and we showed them the trees that needed to be trimmed and informed them of what we were wanting. At 12:18 pm, they came to the front door and informed us that they were "done" and left. We went to the back yard to take a look and we discovered that they had only completed part of the tree trimming that we had asked to be done. The part that they did complete was done to our satisfaction. We do not feel that we received our money's worth when they were only on the property for 45 minutes. There were several more trees that needed the limbs trimmed and this was not done.

It was November 2009 when we bought a 100
oak tree from
but only recently (October 2013) that we learned the reasons we had been having problems with the tree from day one.
From the beginning, despite watering dutifully, the tree had sections which looked dry. Not long after it was planted, we called
’t remember the lady’s name who came and looked at the tree). She put in a hormone and said we had been watering only one side of the tree (and that is as ridiculous as it sounds!)!
For years, despite consistent watering, the leaves at the top of the tree were dry. This was not a small section. Also, the tree wasn’t appearing to grow much. After over 3 years, we were thinking about replacing the tree in the spring of this year, 2013, but the
tree finally appeared to be getting green leaves at the top.
A couple of months ago in October 2013, we called an arborist from Houston Arbor Care, to come look at our trees. First, we already figured out that when we thought we had bought a live oak tree as it was labeled at
, the tree was actually a cathedral oak (structure of tree different and not what I had wanted). After examining the area beneath the tree, the arborist explained all the things that had been done wrong when the tree was planted 4 years ago:

1. The roots of the tree (tree in 100
container) had not been loosened when it was planted. They were root-bound which had caused the tree to have problems getting enough water through the years and also to cause the tree to be stunted in growth!! So much for
’s tree person saying we had been watering only half the tree!
2. The tree had also been planted too shallow which explains roots showing at the surface which should not have happened if it had been planted deep enough.

To try and help the bound roots, the arborist dug around the tree and we’ll have to wait to see if that helps. He indicated, however, that the tree may always be stunted due to the errors in planting. We paid almost $1300 to what we thought was a professional tree nursery and they sent people who were not even knowledgeable about planting trees! A year warranty doesn’t do any good for us as buyers when it takes years for the problems to show.

Tree Service reviews in Richmond

I contracted them to move three Live Oaks. They were on time and got the
job done in two days. 24 hours after they left, one of the trees was
laying on its side. A second tree died two weeks later after following
their watering recommendations. After the first tree tipped, I called
the owner. His response: "Two bad. Nothing we can do for you. You need
to get a tractor and pull it away. But for $150.00 we'll bring another
smaller Live Oak out". Didn't bother calling them after the second tree died.

I had already received a quote from another service (freind of my neighbor) but they weren't able to grind the stumps' so I decided to check Angie's list.

had great reviews so I decided to call the and one more service. Didn,t get a call back from the other service. When I called the phone was answered promptly by
Richmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
which was nice because she also works on job sites so the phone is not always easy to hear. Because she was on a job, though, she was able to talk to the owner
Richmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
and they were'able to come do an estimate that day. I met with

that evening and the were able to beat the original quote I got and it included grinding the stumps! Plus, after he quoted the job,
Richmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
offered to remove some bushes and a pile of branches that had collected over a couple of years. The crew arrived on the day they said they would and dida fantastic job. Did I mention that the Ash trees were HUGE and falling branches would have damaged my fence or my pool pump an heater? And the Hackberry was 3 feet from the house. The crew was careful and worked two afternoons to complete the job. Each day they cleaned up. The stump grinder broke 3/4 of the way through grinding and the grinder is in the shop as I write this.

has kept me up to date on the situation and when they will be able to come back to finish up. I will definitely use
Richmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
to do some trimming next Winter and for any other tree needs. Not a huge company, but trustworthy, honest pricing and quality work has earned my business.

returned my call the same day and set up an appointment the following day to to address my my concerns and assess our older ash tree. I was very impressed with his knowledge and detailed answs to my many questions. We were given three options and estimates, on the amount of work we would choose to have done. I felt the estimates were very fair and reasonable.
The office staff kept us well informed. The crew arrived on time, completed the work and cleaned up well , on the scheduled date. We are very satisfied with the results and would not hesitate to recommend this company.

gave me an estimate and did the work within a few days. The work was excellent, the area was cleaned, the debris was gone and price was exactly as quoted. Great work, great service and I would definitely call them back for future work. Great job!

I've used this company to trim my trees and was very pleased with the result, so when I needed a very dead Maple removed, they were the ones I chose. I called, received a reasonable quote, the tree was removed very quickly and the stump was partially ground (my choice). The debris was picked up and, aside from the pile of great mulch where the stump had been, my yard was left clean.

We were very pleased with the job performed by

called me back and showed up exactly as he stated he would. Everything was cleaned up and in order when I got home that evening. Again, a great job. I would recommend them highly.

does very good work, once he gets started. The trimming and smaller more delicate pruning work is done so the tree appears balanced. He is very patient while doing his work, and is meticulous about cleaning the work area, when he is finished. The only thing that bothers us about him is that he does not always come over right away. We have to chase him down with the phone, on occasion. Because he does good work, we are willing to live with that.

are very busy, so unless it is an emergency, from storm damage, it may be necessary to wait a few days before they can get the house. It's worth the wait though, they are very professional, and do an excellent job. Their workers know how to handle our dog, so that is never a problem. These trees are huge, and you need experience, to remove branches that large without any damage from fallout. The yard was cleaner after they left, than when they arrived.
