"
was so professional and helpful. He was such a pleasure to work with. He had to order the new locks and he kept me informed along the way" of when they would come in and when he could do all of the work at one time. He made sure he only re-keyed what was really necessary saving me money.

"Tech was on time and did a nice job redoing my locks. He was timely and helped me out. My only frustration was that even though I paid for nine locks to be re-keyed," I could only get TWO keys. I finally pointed out that had I keyed each lock differently, they would have given me two keys for each lock. Tech finally agreed to give me six keys to avoid me having to run out and get more made. Also, it cost $15 per lock to re-key additional locks and $35 to install the code lock.

In addition to the roughly $100-200 for the lockset itself, I would expect from $50-100 range (depending on your local labor costs) by a locksmith, ASSUMING you get a lockset that uses the existing door and frame lockset holes - should only take about 15-30 minutes in that case. Could run into maybe $100 more for a carpenter or the locksmith to fill and glue the existing holes and then drill new ones if lock does not fit the existing (probably "standard" hole spacing and setback - or maybe $200-300 more for carpenter to put in entirely new striker side trim and paint to match if you don't like the looks of the filled holes.

I understand your concern - but locksmiths are criminal record vetted and bonded pretty well, so not a major risk there. Unless you bought the deadbolt and entry lockset as a boxed set - both keyed the same - it would be normal for him to rekey so they use the same key. People do not want to have to fumble with two different keys to get in, so he probably just did not think to ask if you wanted them the same. Is it also possible he was keying to match a back or garage door lock too so all your entry doors use the same key ? A large portion of their work is rekeying locks after change of tenants or owners, or changing out a worn out lockset, so that would be second nature to him to do it - I don't personally think you have a high risk from this, unless perhaps you live in a very upscale house and had a lot of valuables laying around that he could see while working. If that $66 million Van Gogh painting you bought yesterday was leaning against the entry wall waiting to be hung, then I might be a bit concerned - otherwise not.

This was not an emergency situation, but
Plainview Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was able to come the very next day. He gave a 2-hour window for arrival, and called to let me know he would be a little later -- no problem, I was glad he scheduled on short notice.
I have an older home, built in 1930, with wood interior doors, glass knobs, and old hardware mixed with newer fixtures.
Plainview Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
accomodated my numerous add-ons to my initial request just to fix 1 lock. He was able to reinstall that fixture in a more secure way and I didn't have to purchase anything new. Then he tackled the front door, and another door, and another... All my interior and exterior doors and locks now work more smoothly and quietly. Wish I'd had this done years ago!

I chose this vendor because he was top of the list for my area and had stellar reviews on Angie's. I almost didn't believe the reviews, because they were almost too good. But I can see why. Conscientious, skilled, clearly interested in the work, and a very good price. Thanks

I called
Plainview Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
two weeks in advance of closing to come to my house, and he showed up promptly as scheduled. He was pleasant and professional, and quickly re-keyed the locks. He also offered two types of keys (a larger one that's easier to turn and a smaller pocket-friendly kind), fixed one lock that had been installed upside down, and offered maintenance tips. I plan on calling him again.

A Tri County Lock did an awesome job! I needed lots of locks changed and a few dead bolt holes re-adjusted. He was very informative and worked quickly and efficiently. Came out the same day I called. I would definitely use their services again! Thank you, and I loved meeting your assistant!

Dorrant went above and beyond to do what we needed. When we realized we needed new door hardware, he took the time to go to both Home Depot and Lowe's to track down what we needed. He ended up changing out more deadbolts and door handles than we originally thought would be required, and he didn't hesitate to stay as long as was needed to get the job done right. One door proved especially difficult and required him to climb through a window to get to the exterior of the door and muscle the hardware off the door for replacement.

Excellent Service
I purchased a deal on a Sunday and received an email on Monday to verify the location of the service. I was able to make an appointment later that day for the following day. I received a call when the technician was on the way and he arrived on time. He was polite and professional. He completed the work in a timely manner and I tested each lock with good results.

After a family member misplaced a house key I wanted the front door lock re-keyed immediately. I called on a Friday night and the locksmith came out the next morning. He was very professional and explained everything to me. I also asked about having a dead-bolt put in. He couldn't do the dead-bolt installation at that time, but I scheduled a visit later in the week for the dead-bolt to be installed. He was able to fix it so I could use the same key for both locks. There was no additional visit fee for the second visit. The locksmith explained the importance of not leaving the key in the dead-bolt at night because there is a small window near the door that is large enough for someone to reach in and take the key.
