"All went well...showed up on time and finished the job one day ahead of schedule. Angel the foreman keep me informed on what they were doing and at end of day would" let me know his plans for the next day. "
's crew painted the exterior of our 2 story house. He said it would take about a week and it did. He used good paint and I opted for" the extra primer/sealant coat also. We had some problems previously with the glass insert near the front door leaking. They caulked that up before painting the door and it has not leaked since (really nice job on the door too). One other thing they did that we liked was the painting of our front window frames. The window installer prided himself on his "creative" use of caulk. He had it smeared everywhere, and after some time, it was coated with stuck-on dirt.
's crew painted over top of it to give it a nice clean white finish. It now looks much better. I guess the only negative was that they were never very precise about when they would be coming the next day. Basically, it was just that they would be back tomorrow. However, each time they were here, they got quite a bit done (and this was during Christmas holidays). I also have to mention that
and crew were *very* nice people and pleasant to work with.

That's very difficult to answer without seeing the house. As one poster said, the prep is the most important part. On newer homes that don't have a lot of peeling paint, the prep can be very minimal even as low as a couple or a few hundred dollars for the prep labor.

On a 100 year old home with 12 coats of peeling paint on it, then the prep costs can be very high and can easily exceed 50% of the job's labor cost.

A 2100 sq ft two story home could easily cost $1000 just for the labor to prep for the paint job. That number could climb too. Throw in lots of caullking  or window glazing, and you could be talking a couple or a few hundred dollars more for labor.

Painting that home with one coat of paint and a different color on the trim could run roughly $1000 or more just for labor. Add a second coat  and that could cost close to another $1000 for labor.

For paint, you may need 20 gallons of paint. You can pay from $30-$70 for a gallon of good quality exterior paint. The manufacturer of the paint should be specified in any painting contract. Otherwise, the contractor could bid at a Sherwin-Williams $60 per gallon paint and then paint the house with $35 Valspar and pocket the difference. $25 dollars per gallon times 20 gallons? That's a pretty penny too.

That was the long answer to your question. The short answer is $2000 to $4000 and up, depending upon the amount of prep, the number of coats, the amount of trim, and the paint used.

Hair spray is one of those things that is really bothersome.  We've run into this alot unfortunately.  And NOTHING we've found will actually clean it off.  The problem is that if you just paint over it, you still see shiny spots wherever the hairspray was.

Our companie's policy is to prime the area with any bonding primer.  This will seal the hairspray in and not let it affect the next coat of paint.  It would also be a good idea to lightly sand the area first.

Our recommendation for primer would be Zinsser's BIN Spray (red can) and can be bought at most paint stores or home improvement stores.  Other than that, any thing that specifically says "bonding" for a primer should be adequate enough.

Without seeing the project I'm not sure exactly what is happening.  HOWEVER, I've never heard of someone "floating" over paint blisters - just logically that can't work.  If air or moisture are trapped (because that's what causes blisters) painting over them won't fix the initial problem.

I have a couple suggestions - My first would have been to contact the paint manufacturer - whether it's sherwin williams, benjamin moore, behr, etc. to see if they would send a rep out to give their recommendation.  We have done this before starting a project to get the best possible recommendation for work to be done and have found them to be very helpful in diagnosing what is currently going on and the best way to fix it.

If that doesn't work, I would call either the better business bureau or maybe the local paper if your contractor isn't willing to work through the problem with you.  Also, If your contractor warrantied the work I might re-read that to see what they cover if anything.

My guess is that there will have to be some sort of dispute resolution process.

Hope this helps!

Yes - absolutely!  Refinishing is THE VERY BEST way to go to avoid tearing out a perfectly good bathtub that just LOOKS bad after years of use.  Go to the link below for some before and after refinishing pictures of acrylic tubs.

The owner
Mcallen Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
stood out from the other estimates. We could tell he really cared and had lots of passion about his company. He took his time and showed us imperfections in the walls, even though after they repaired them, it would not be perfect. So we would not be in for any surprises. We never choose companies on the spot but his details and the price he gave us said the price is the PRICE. They will never go up even if there were extra repairs or a 3rd coat on a wall or a room. They deserved a great review and wanted to say thank you. Next Summer we are going to get them to paint the exterior of our home.

's team was painting our neighbor's house. We asked him for a quote. The price was so reasonable we decided to have them do the work. One of the things I liked about
Mcallen Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
was that he asked for half up front and half at the end. Made me comfortable that he would get the work done.
His team was very easy to work with and they did a great job. Our house is partial brick and then a mix of shake and lap siding. It is pretty large. They did a great job and got to all the places that are a good three stories in the back of the house where we have a walk out basement. The quality of the paint was great and we were just really pleased to get it done.
I would recommend
Mcallen Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
to anybody getting outside painting done.

I have used
Mcallen Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
for several projects in my house and am still having them come back for the next projects. They have removed wallpaper, textured walls, painted walls, woodwork cabinets and ceilings. They have repaired ceiling sheetrock and skylight damage and matched the texturing and painted. They have installed new wood doors on cabinets and then painted the cabinets and doors. They have repaired the wood and painted the entire outside of the house. I have been very pleased with their work. They always do an excellent job. I have referred them to several friends, also. I would recommend them to anyone needing to start projects on their house and I plan to have them continue working at my house.

Let me start by saying that the wife is very smart, and I trust her opinion; however, she looks to her husband for the final decision, and he is not as sharp as she is. For starters, he will tell you life stories while on the clock, and charge you for the time. Secondly, his ladder punctured a hole in my shingles, which had to be repaired by another company (at my expense). If you never get up on your roof, you may not discover this type of damage until a leak starts.

Above all, he found out that the water damage to the siding was more severe than he had originally anticipated, and he continued the work without notifying me. He charged me $330 (more than 2x the estimate). The condition of the siding was worse than before, and I had to hire another contractor to replace everything for an additional $2300.

I expected that a hired contractor would notify me as soon as he or she realized that they were going to charge more than double the original estimate.

I am rating an "F" for quality because I received absolutely zero value for the $330 spent, and I would have cut my losses at $150 if he had brought the issue to my attention earlier.

So far (quick glance) looks good! Workers were polite and

was very good about answering questions, etc. No time wasted, waiting until tomorrow for the gutter people to come (hired from the Painting Co) and put up for job to be completed.

They did an excellent job of prepping before and clean-up afterwards. I purchased the Angie's Deal so I could try out his services. And so glad I did! He is providing an estimate for more work.

Mcallen Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
has been wonderful every step of the way. We met him back in September when he came out to give us a bid on painting our entire house. We ended up going with someone else (a mistake on our part), but kept his contact information. We ended up asking the other company NOT to do our front door, and hired
Mcallen Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
to come take care of that for us. He is super responsive to phone calls and e-mails, he answered questions along the way, was very punctual, and an all around nice guy. He and his foreman were friendly, cleaned up every bit of mess that was made during the project, and the door and sidelights look amazing! Thank you for giving me back the beautiful front door I've been missing!
