"We noticed the tooth discoloration on Friday night, so Saturday morning I called to schedule an appointment. The receptionist explained they had walk-in hours until" noon. I asked if I could make an appointment but she reiterated the walk-in hours. We promptly left and arrived at the office around 10:30AM. From the time we arrived, to the time we left, we were here for a total of 5 hours, so I looking back, I REALLY wish we could have just made an appointment. The office staff were very nice and welcoming. This was my first time visiting this clinic as I'm new to the area and I'm still trying to find MY vet. After waiting for literally hours, we were met by a vet tech. We explained the situation and she looked at the tooth. A doctor then came in and told us the tooth was dead and needed pulled. She gave my dog a thorough examine just to make sure everything else was alright and in good order, which is was. We spoke with her about options for my dog's tooth. Because it's such a large tooth, we wanted to save it so a root canal was discussed. The doctor explained they could not do that at this clinic and referred us to another veterinarian. However, before we left, we were given a long list of small things they wanted to do with her. They gave us a list of services they wanted to perform, none of which were necessary, but all were just 'because' work, such as a blood draw for nothing in particular, a vaccine that wasn't needed (she was up to date on all of her vaccinations), etc etc. The estimated total cost was about $400. I turned down everything with the exception of a months worth of flea medication. In the end, we paid about $175 for about 15 minutes with a doctor and some flea medication and 5 hours of waiting. Not exactly what I had hoped for. Their staff and vet were REALLY friendly and it was obvious how much they cared about animals, but that wait and ultimate nickle and dime to death bill was really unfortunate.

"
Veterinarian is a very nice veterinarian. The closeness of them and they were less expensive than who we went but the price is not bad. He" is willing to work with people and he will offer care only as far as he wants not beyond that or not less than what you want. They're good people.

Hi

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
?
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

I like that for the vet you don't need an appointment; they accept walk-ins. For boarding, they text pictures every day and they take care of everything. The vet is there if there are any problems, and they trim my cat's nails and give her a bath before I pick her up from boarding.

I love my vet. My doctor that I love there is Dr.

. He's great. He's very personable. We love our animals, but we do believe there is a line, when you have to let them go. we've had some very old dogs. If you

a pet, then he sends you a sympathy card. They send Christmas cards every year. He does little things like that. We had a dog that was very sick and he told us to take her to

and spend over $1,000, and still they might not be able to save her. But he said she's not going to exist this way. It helped me, because we believe in keeping our pets as healthy as possible and comfortable. But when we reach the point that we can't keep them comfortable, he gives us peace of mind to let them go.

I have been using this vet clinic since the year 2000 for all of my pets needs. I currently have 3 lg. dogs and 2 cats so the time and money spent there is considerable. The service has been exceptional and personable everytime, from the front desk to the Dr.. The cost of the visit is very acceptable. They always take the time to explain problems and/or reasons keeping the animals best welfare in the forefront. They are very accomadating to my schedule and any unexpected issues that arise. My daughter uses this clinic for all of her pets since 2000 also. It is small enough to be personable and extremely capable of handling all of our pet needs. They make all of us feel like family, especially my animals.

It was very good. We are really pleased with the place. We are going to definitely keep going to them. It was our first time. We moved down from out of state and we looked for an established new veterinarian for our dog down here. The doctor was very helpful in explaining things. We had a problem with the dogs having fleas for the first time. She gave some medication that helped alleviate their scratching and get rid of the fleas. We are happy. The cost for 2 dogs including the medication was $150.

I was super impressed with Dr.

Hilsenteger. She was very caring and thorough with their exams. I appreciate her listening to my concerns and recommending a flea treatment that is less toxic to my cats, revolution is the new flea treatment. I'm happy my cats are healthy and taken care of for another year.

We took our sick dog to this emergency animal hospital and they told us it would cost between $500 and $750 to evaluate her.

The veterinarian asked what was wrong and when we tried to tell her what was going on and what we had done, she said everything we did was wrong and that the dog might have internal bleeding or renal failure. The vet did not really listen to anything we said, and frankly did not know what she was talking about. She stated she could euthanize her but that they would have to catherize her before they euthanized her if we wanted to be present. That would have been cruel. We decided to take her home and let her go naturally. She died in my arms five minutes after we left the vet. At least she was not put through the wringer by this place who only seemed to be interested in money. I am a nurse and so is my sister. The care we provided before taking her to this "animal hospital" was appropriate, we used our knowledge and researched everything we did for our pet to be sure we were not doing anything inappropriate. This place is not somewhere I would ever recommend anyone taking a pet that they loved.

I will start off by saying the staff was wonderful but the veterinarian I saw had terrible bedside manner. He came into the room abruptly which caused my Min Pins to bark of course and he remarked sarcastically what a nice family I had. Great start to the visit. During the examination I felt like he was taking down to me by his demeanor. It didn't feel like he really cared about animals all that much, bad feeling coming from a veterinarian. And when he left the room after the examination he left the door wide open and one of the veterinary techs had rush to close it. Im a military wife and have moved numerous times and seen a few veterinarians. This one was the worst I've seen. I wanted to like this place because I have heard good things about it and it is close to home but I want a veterinarian that seems to have a little more compassion. The staff was wonderful but I can't get past the attitude of the veterinarian.
