"They help you reach the point of death. They come to your home. You get your own private nurse. There is a care assistant who comes to help take care of the patient. They have counseling" available for both the patient, and the family. There is an education on the passage of people from this life. They are all extremely sensitive. If you do not have a family physician, they will provide a physician for regular checkup.

"
is wonderful. This was not the first time we have used her, she had been with another hospice and help another family member in the past, but is now with Lighthouse." We sought her out for my father and both she and all of Lighthouse gave an excellent service. They first came to him at his at his nursing home and started working very quickly.

"My mother was cared for much more than in home care. Owners kept me aprised of everything, no matter how small. I could not have cared for her the way they did. Anticipated things before it became a problem.

It was a great facility. I liked how sensitive they were to the family. He had a lot of friends come by and there were a lot of people there. The environment was like a five-star hotel; it was gorgeous with wood-paneled walls and big screen televisions. They seemed to have everything for the comfort for those who were in the dying process. Most of the doctors I would give an A; there was one that wasn’t as great in terms of bedside manner. My brother-in-law was in a lot of pain and it was hard to keep it under control.

The

turned out to be a great solution for providing the care necessary to provide the comfort and support that my mom needed in her final illness. The location is out in the country, providing a peaceful and contemplative location; my mother especially enjoyed the very active bird feeder placed outside her window. The staff made every effort to put my mother's care and comfort as their priority. There was one employee, an older nurse, whose bedside manner was on the more abrupt and gruff side, which caused some family members to feel uncomfortable in her presence. However, when I brought the matter up with the administrative staff, they willingly worked with me to find a solution to address our concern (she was assigned a later shift, when most family members were not around)...and this nurse actually ended up being a help and comfort through my mother's final hours. The staff also provided many activities which allowed the patients to have fun and try to normalize their lives as much as possible during their stay. My mom very much enjoyed the weekly manicures! This was truly "death with dignity" and meant so much to us as we shared her final days.

They were amazing. It is a small facility with a nice family room. The nurses go around and check the patients every twenty minutes. They were awesome. I cannot praise them enough. They counseled the family and they were there for them.

We were very impressed. They worked with us and our finances. The minute they changed her to hospice, they came and took care of everything. She was in a lot of pain and they took care of her. They also were really good in dealing with the family. They did a really good follow-up after she died, telling us things we should remember, helping us to get through. I would give them A+s. It was good to have someone come in and help at a time like that and to keep her comfortable those last days. They explained to us what the process of dying would be. It was such a difficult time and I got a letter from them at that same time addressing all the things I was going through. I highly recommend them and would use them again. They never took her out of the hospital that she was in and her nurses became hospice nurses. Another nurse came in and helped the others know what to do. It was very fluid and she didn't have to change nurses. It was a very well set up deal. We don't feel she could have gotten better care anyplace else.

Medication that was supposed to be there on a Thursday was not delivered until a Tuesday afternoon which was 12 hours before he died.

Their social service staff recommended that if he tried to leave the house in

of they said to call the police to round him.

I had paid medical staff in the house that was not part of this group, so it was not only me who witnessed this. We tried multiple times to reach them that Easter weekend, but we did not receive any calls back from them at all. The hospice nurse in charge of his case had planned time off for Easter weekend, so it was known in advance, but they still did not have coverage that responded to our calls.

After he died, one of their staff did come out to dispose of the medications that had arrived late just before his death. She spent an hour and a half grinding them into coffee grounds so they were secure. I told them if they had spent half that time getting the medications to us on time, he might have still been alive.

You expect hospice to aid in someone’s comfort while one is passing. We had a spiritual consultation scheduled, but no one even showed up for the appointment. On the Monday the 13th before he died, the healthcare workers took him to the emergency room after he had fallen. Once they got there, a hospice nurse showed up at emergency and nearly immediately without giving me instructions, she said another of her patients had passed and she had to leave. After being told this, no hospice nurse showed up at our home when my husband passed away.

It started out as a nice place with nice neighbors and staff for my parents in the Independent Living Area . However, it became unacceptable when one parent had to go to assisted living. There were several overdoses of medication given to the resident. There were many

told and documented by the spouse who did not need to go to assisted living. They do not have 24/7 nursing staff in assisted living. The care-giver ratio to resident was too high. There was virtually no training given to the care-givers. This was at their admission. They just did what they believed common sense told them to do. Consequently, there were many mess ups and many

to cover the situations. My parents ended up leaving this facility when there had been one medication overdose too many which caused all of us to wonder when someone would die due to their incompetence. We left so that person would not be a loved one of ours. We wanted others to know that it does not end there. We have been harassed for 4 months following my parents' departure regarding bills for subsequent months (they were not even living there at the time). We have had to threaten legal action if they do not stop. This place states in its brochures they are Christian, and out to benefit the senior population. However, they are mainly out for the money, and it is plain when one tries to leave. Please do not send your loved one to any of their facilities as I have had not interactions with them which would suggest the problem will get better any time soon.
