Rated Review by Grant S.
came to our home 14 days ago representing himself as a
home inspector and general contract with many years of experience. He claimed
he was in the process of working on a home dealing with the same issues we were...more /> experiencing and that he would do no “Up selling” that "EVERY ONE
ELSE" does. That he was a very honest representative of his trade and
could be completely trusted.
The real truth became apparent within the first 15min of Mr.

We are in need of some new siding. Even though he claimed he was
working on a job with replacing siding as we spoke, he had to stop and call his
supplier to even ask and figure out what is available or even still being
produced for siding.
I asked about if he would replace the tar paper under the siding and
any bad insulation like other siding contractors had said would be
automatically done.
He went into a whole tirade about how he would only patch the tar
paper with bits of Tyvek where the paper was damaged. He said there was no need
to replace the tar paper. It was start to become very clear that this guy just
wanted to make things look good from the outside while he was there and take
our money and run. Never mind what is going on behind that siding and the
We have a window that has a ton of water damage and he took one
quick look and leaped back because of some of the mildew. Did not spend more
the 3 seconds looking at it and just said, "It is your bad siding".
Yes it is the same wall that has the bad siding, but from a far away
look, the siding around the window is not bad? This is him being a home
Then there are our two bathrooms. The master bath has a shower
where the tile is falling off because the home was built with just drywall. He said,
"Yes the shower and bath need to be replaced". But did not offer how
he was going to address how to guarantee that the water from the shower would
not continue to seep from its location. He seemed surer that bathrooms should
only last "20-25 years". I am trying to figure out why we would spend
money to have a bathroom done not correctly so that it can be redone in
"20 Years" or less?
The other bath was more of the same mess….
He never looked closely at things, even at the things we were
pointing out. He kept saying he had our backs and yet after he left, he NEVER
responded to any emails or phone calls asking for his bid. It was like he fell
off the face of the earth.
We would never have given this man any money. But we want all to
read this to be very aware of whom he really is. A very bad
representative of the remodeling trade!

Irving Home Inspectors Reviews

"It has been two years since this inspector did an inspection our home and we are still dealing with his negligent inspection.
This inspector missed several key items including a broken window that was covered with a piece of cardboard. Had the inspector took the time to move the curtain and property inspect all of he widows (as he as paid to do) he would have seen the broken window.
In addition he missed a leak in our upstairs bathroom which should have been easily fixed (and cost us money to fix) and an issue with the garage door, which he also should have caught.
However, the biggest evidence of this inspectors negligence is detailed below:
Also in his inspection report he notes many cracks around (and on the inside) and tells us the cracks are normal and that we just need to go to Home Depot and buy some mortar to fill in the cracks. We asked him if there could be a

these cracks would be a sign of a foundation problem and he said. We were first time home buyers and took his word for it. In his report he also included some pictures, one of which being a picture of a crack on the outside of our home.
Two years later we hired an engineer to look at our home and he confirmed those cracks were a sign of a foundation problem and one of the cracks is the same crack in the picture

gave us with his report.

refused to take care of the problem, or direct us to his insurance company. He had a lawyer contact us who would not talk to us on the phone, told us we couldn't contact the inspector any more and that we needed to deal with him (the lawyer) wouldn't give us the insurance information, and told us he didn't "see" any "evidence" that we had a valid claim.
What a poor way to handle a customer and do the right thing. It's disappointing to see that are companies out there that are willing to take advantage on first time home buyers. I would not suggest you ever use this company. We are still trying to get this company to take responsibility for their actions and do the right thing, but it looks like it's going to require a lot of effort.
Disappointing. Be careful who you trust, and most of all don't trust this company.
I'll will be contacting the realtors in my area as well and telling them about our experience with this inspector and that they shouldn't use this inspector under any circumstances, as well as the state licensing board.
"As mentioned before,
Irving Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
is very punctual. She shows up on time and takes as much time is needed to do a thorough inspection. Her written report shows up within a day or two via email. It is always very thorough with pictures. I've used her recently on 4 rental properties and have been very pleased with the level of service and attention to detail. I recommend her highly."

did a very thorough job on her inspection. Her report documented everything very well on her report. She took as much time as she needed to look through everything. I didn’t feel like she rushed through the process. I would recommend her to anyone needing an inspection. Her rate for the inspection was very fair."
"Mr. Hemsell provided exceptional service at the time he said he would provide it and at the cost he said he would charge. There were no surprises and Mr. Hemsell had many helpful hints and suggestions relative to caring for each of the systems at the property. I would refer

"I thought that their price might be a little bit high but I don't know. He did a very thorough job of measuring the level of the ground floor of the house. He didn't go under the house but brought a contractor with him, which I thought was a bit unusual. The contractor went under the house and did the inspection down there in the crawl space. There were some things that I think he missed and he was surprised when I pointed it out. I didn't really get a comprehensive answer on a couple of things. He spent about two and a half hours here altogether."

was on time and did a thorough home inspection job. He explained the results, answered all of my questions and had no problems double checking when requested. I would definitely use him again."
"My house was coming up for the 11 month walkthrough and I had

do an inspection before the builder came for the 11 month walkthrough. Best money I every spent. They did an AWESOME job on the inspection and saved me a lot of money I would have spent in future. Their inspection was so thorough. They found a lot of small problems that could become big ones later. Some Examples are - skylight on the roof - Not enough fastners - Only 4 instead of recommended 12. ONe was almost coming off. IN all probablity this would not have been found in the 11 month walkthrough as I would not have climbed the roof. AFter the 1 year of the builder is over, if we had high windsand the skylight comes off, I would not have been covered. - Air conditioner not properly installed and pointed out by (NPI). Builder did not agree so I put them in contact with NPI who gave them all the documents from the manufacturer and proper way to install. Very Detailed report was provided by email which was sent to the builder who agreed to do all the items eventually. This report had over 25 items out of which atleast 15 would not have been detected if we had not done the inspection. Every inch of the house, attic, roof, lawn, backyard, sprinklers etc. was covered. Great Job!!!"
