I had to wait a couple of months for the actual service apparently due to their schedule. The two men who did the work arrived on time when we finally got a date. They were efficient, professional and personable. I was very pleased with their work . They did a nice job. I would use again.

Excellent from start--our initial conversation about the extent of the job--to finish. In response to my phone call
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
stopped promptly here at the house and climbed right up on the roof in question to make his inspection. We discussed options and timing and price, and I knew immediately that I'd picked the right guy. On the day of the job he and his dad and his brother(s?) and, I think, a cousin or two arrived first thing in the morning and did expert work. Very professional and completely satisfactory. I recommend this company without reservation.

Our house was built in the 60's and sort of looks like the White House. We have 4, 2-story columns made of wood that were very rotten on the bottom. I put a shout-out to the neighborhood online to see if anyone had a reputable repair guy because I could not find anyone on Angie's List who specialized in column repair. Sure, I could have called a general repair guy, but I was unsure how they would approach the repair with a large weight bearing load the columns provided. Since our neighborhood has many other houses with the same type columns, I figured there was a neighbor who had some insight. I received a recommendation for
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and soon called
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the owner. He came out to my home the next day and told me all about my columns. He has over 30 years experience and early in his career he actually worked for a column maker so he is very knowledgeable! He took lots of measurements and returned a week later with 4 rebuilt column bottoms. He secured each column with a device he built while he removed the rotten bottoms and then slid the newly rebuilt bottom into place. His rebuilt bottom was made very well. He even tarred the inside and added ventilation so the bottoms would last a lot longer this time (I wish I could add pictures here to show you his craftsmanship). After the supports were finally in place, he removed any additional rot and repaired the round column. The finished results were fantastic and looks brand new!
I would definitely recommend
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his son,
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
. He is a family run business and only works with his son. You can tell he prides himself on his work and wants the customer to be happy with the job he does.

did a wonderful job. She communicated well, was actively engaged in the whole process from design to installation. I had an idea of what I wanted, but she really helped figure out a challenging yet elegant design.

Ultimately, the sliding doors began sticking. Needing a lot of force to slide them open, in addition to an extremely weak door handle to slide the door itself. When questioned if there was a different door style or handle that can be used, they simply stated "No."
One window that was placed ended up being crooked, so it had to be balanced and masked to seem straight to the naked eye.
Provider never followed through with a requested storm door, one which to this day has not been mentioned. Sliding door still stick, and when the provider returned he blamed it on the house shifting, which was totally untrue. Provider took measurements again and stated they'd return to install new doors that would fit better (paid for by me), however after 2 weeks of not getting the numbers requested for cost, he stated that he tried to call and text but never received a call back. This is false due to the fact that we have an answering machine and also receive all of our text messages.
After texting and asking again for numbers, the provider, Bill, stated that he'd get them to me..........forward 12 hours later I texted Bill stating that we'll get our fix elsewhere.
Final result,
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Door abandoned the job that needed fixes caused by them. Bill McCeldry seems like a nice guy face to face, however his business practices are way below the status of professional. I would not recommend this company to an enemy. Do yourself a favor and skip past this company.

This porch, with its pillars and rounded railing, needed major repairs and some brand new custom-made carpentry, including the railings themselves.
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
did exquisite work. He was thorough, efficient, courteous, cooperative and clean. When we wanted to do some of the finish work ourselves (e.g. painting) he was fine with that. This porch was and is a work of art.

drafting house has exceeded all of my expectations. Very pleasant to work with right from our first conversation. He was responsive and attentive to every design request and the work was performed with a heightened sense of importance and professionalism. I am getting started building my first house and I look forward to utilizing his knowledge and expertise, which he has readily offered, throughout the process.

1) New sill in rear entrance to garage is cracked in half, which I didn't notice until I went out to prep for painting because I don't use the back door.
2) Waterproof vinyl covering on sill on left-hand side.
3) New sill in screened area entrance was installed at an angle leaving open ends exposing rotting wood. An unsuccessful attempt was made to fill in the space on left side, with two pieces of wood.
4) A diagonal support beam in the left-hand side of the garage was ripped down when installing sill and pushed to the side where it hangs unattached from the ceiling.
5) Sills are covered with waterproofed plastic so I cannot ascertain the condition of the new wood sills elsewhere.
6) The outside sill was cut wrong, and the riser, which doesn't touch the pavement on one side is jammed at an angle over the rotten wood beneath leaving gaps on either side exposing rotted wood.
8) The stapled screen came undone in approximately a week.
7) Instead of replacing the badly worn back garage door, as I'd requested, it was patched together with screwed-in right-angle braces.
There was a breakdown in communication and lack of professionalism from the beginning to the end of the project. A month passed before I was able to get a commitment for the work to be started. When
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
assessed the job, he indicated that it could likely be done within the 4 hours stipulated in the Angie's Deal. There was also provisions in the deal for an unspecified number of additional hours at an hourly rate. I repeatedly requested a written contract describing what would be done and at what cost. I was repeatedly told that it was in the mail. I never did get a work plan or contract. What I did get was an invoice that he went back to his office to get on at lunchtime. When the work was underway, evidently it was more involved that anticipated. Instead of talking to me and asking how to proceed, he took it upon himself to do what I requested, except replacing the garage door. In trying to finish up in 8 hours, he rushed to replace the final sill, as described in 5) above. Had we had a discussion, perhaps the work could have been done satisfactorily with a little more time spent.
I didn't want to write this review, and hesitated for some time. I called
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
office before writing it and left a message letting him know I was not a satisfied customer. I waited several days for a call back, and it was a voice message from his secretary asking me to call her if she could be of help. The one bright note is that his assistant was courteous and seemed to be conscientious.

Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to look at the project - a bathroom remodel which I assumed would cost about 35k.
Nice guy, we had a great chat, and he seemed very interested. He said that the first step would be to have his architect out to create a plan, which of course I would pay for, and then he would bid it from there. Great. I knew that was the first step all along, but I wanted an architect referred to me - I didn't want to blindly guess someone out of the phone book.
The architect never called.
I called
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
again a about two weeks later, and he said "Oh! He didn't call? I will make sure he calls you this time."
well. No. He never called, and
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
never called to follow up.
I took my time to meet him. I took time to call him back. Simply put - he wasted my time.

I'm surprised that I'm the first to write a review, and embarrassed that it's taken me this long because I've worked closely with
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his team on major remodels of 3 different houses over the last 6 years. The scope of work was very broad, but included tearing out and putting in a new kitchen and multiple bathrooms, painting, plumbing, electrical, trim carpentry, etc. As a real estate investor and Realtor for the last 12+ years, I've worked with and talked to a very wide variety of vendors. I find most of them on Angie's List and then forget to write reviews because most of them essentially know what they're doing but are unremarkable, but my years of experience with
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
have been 100% positive, and he and his team truly stand out from the competition and deserve recognition.
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his staff are incredibly gifted craftsman, but his real talent is solving problems. He understands what your goals are and can tell you the best way, the cheapest way, and ultimately the smart way to achieve them. On top of that, while he is "full service" he's not one of the many local contractors who charge an egregious amount for work they're just subbing out to someone else. If he can't do it, he'll tell you he's not interested in it. The pricing is very fair, and he sticks to his quote.
I'm speaking in generalities here because of the breadth of the work, but as someone who looks at a hundred reviews before even calling a vendor, this is the real deal. If you need a painter, a carpenter, a new kitchen, a new master bath, or a whole house remodel you should at least talk to
Groves General Contractors Provider Name Locked
as one of your options. He couldn't be nicer, and I believe you'll be very happy with the work, whatever it is.
