"
was great from start to finish. They provided design assistance and helped along the way as we went through the county permitting process."
also helped specify the equipment, supplied the equipment, and worked with us as we installed the system. The results are excellent. We are very pleased with the rooftop solar electric system and are now powering our own house.

"We have worked with
and
on three different occasions now, and I can't say enough good things about this group." they are ALWAYS punctual, friendly, tidy, and do exceptional work every time. We currently have 8 Solatubes, yes EIGHT! And what a bright home we live in. it's fantastic!! On this visit,
came to install a bathroom fan add on to one of our tubes in one of the bathrooms, and 3 of their new solar night lights. We put the night lights in the two bathrooms and in the stair case solatubes. First, lets talk about the bathroom fan. The fan that go with the system, is an inline fan. If you don't know what that is, it is basically halfway up the venting tube, rather than right in your ceiling. This construction allows you to have a stronger fan with less vibration noise. If you have a traditional ceiling fan, it is mounted in the frame of your home, so when you turn that thing on and it makes that awful whirring noise... that's vibration. The inline system doesn't have that, because it doesn't touch the structure of your house. Additionally, because of the issues with vibration, you will typically have a 80-cfm ceiling fan, and the inline is 110-cfm, which means it pulls more air. Ok, enough of building lessons. Back to the fan. This fan is said to be "whisper quiet." The term "whisper quiet" I believe is subjective. don't get me wrong, this fan is very VERY quiet, but I wouldn't say it's as quiet as a whisper, I can hear it. With that said, if you put it beside your whirring ceiling monster, then yes, I would say it is definitely whisper quiet. Having had it for a few months now, I would say it is less noticeable now than before. I have forgotten to turn it off a time or four. :) Onto the little solar lights. What a GREAT invention these things are!! They do have their pros and cons though, which I will cover. The solar lights basically install into your tube and capture the solar energy during the day to charge them up; the more sun, and the brighter the sun, the longer the light lasts. Easy right? We have them installed in two bathrooms in 10" tubes and the stair well in a 14" tube. Pros: No more stumbling around in the dark for the bathroom, or searching for the stairs! Depending on the sun exposure, they last between 3-10 hours. Yes, 10 hours! in the last 2 month, we have seen an increase in the length of them lasting. I'm not sure this is typical, but I'll take it. Cost effective. They are CHEAP! Energy Saving. No more turning on the lights to go to the bathroom, or up and down the stairs, which also does not disturb your melatonin production, or circadium rhythm. (you need these for a good nights sleep) Tax Credit! Adding these makes your solatubes tax deductible. Yes please! Cons: No sun, no light, or very little light. Sad face. Stubbing my toe when they run out in the dead of winter. Lets face it, they need light to recharge, and when we had them installed in November, they didn't last more than a couple hours, but since January, they have increased. Expect more light close to the summer equinox than the winter solstice. I don't have enough!
, Bring me more!! Overall, I highly recommend installing both the bathroom fans, not only because it looks good with your solatube, but because it's quieter, and the solar lights for all the reasons I mentioned, AND because
and
are AWESOME! Our home is always open to see the fantastic job
and
have done, you just need to talk to them to make arrangements.

8 tips for finding the best solar panel installer

One highly rated provider shares eight tips to help you find the best solar panel installer for your home and get the best return on your investment.

3 types of solar panels: pros and cons

Are you confused about how solar panels work? Manufacturers produce three general types of panels, with variances that affect efficiency and performance. Find out how the three types differ, and which might work best.

Connecting your residential solar power to the utility grid comes with advantages, but for some homeowners a stand-alone solar system is a better fit.

When selecting a solar panel installer, it’s important to know the efficiency of the panels that will be used in your system. Cheaply made solar panels do not give homeowners as high a return on investment. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Thomas B. of Las Vegas)

Getting a solar panel system is a big decision … and so is choosing which company will install it for you.

Thinking of installing solar panels? Here are some payment options to consider.

There are many high pressure solar companies out there pushing a solar lease and homeowners may not fully understand what they are getting into, says Burnett. (Photo courtesy of SolarCraft)

Leasing solar panels may sound like a nice way to get green energy into your home, but count the cost before you sign that lease instead of buying outright.

Are you talking about powering your home solely on solar (i.e. no back up power source or off grid).

The power, once convered from DC to AC via the inverter, is suitable for use by the home.

Most solar application are in supplement to the current powering of the home and will spin the meter back in the day but are not the primary.

OK - that should strike Atlantic Plumbing off your vendor list !

You say female pipe to copper pipe connection - I hope you are not saying they connected copper directly to galvanized or black iron pipe. If so, there should have been a dielectric union put in there to prevent corrosion, which could be part of your problem.

Also, generally a bad idea to use teflon tape for hot water tank connections - too much thermal cycling, loosens it up over time. Should use plumbers dope for that application.

It sounds to me like a connection problem - if the tank itself was leaking it should be flooding the top of the tank or more likely running down through the insulation and dripping out the bottom.

Unless you are a do it yourselfer, sounds like you need to find a new plumber with good reviews and rating in your area - Search the List (in green banner bar). This should be an easy fix - should have him put in dielectric couplings (about $5-10 each depending on pipe size) if current connection is iron to copper, and even if not, have him redo connection not only for cold but also hot water - if one was done poorly, probably both were.

It has been 7 months now since this process has started. and still no solar installation. i had to contact the company to find out what the status was. then a month ago i find out everything was cancelled with no formal notification. My husband found out from one of the sales rep in the
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
CA Home Depot. So i called and the rep said bcz there has been no activity it automatically cancels and sd she would re instate it and someone will be in contact with me. What a dissappointment. No follow up calls ....unanswered questions.....no body knows whats going on. and as of today still no follow up calls of what is going on. I would not recommend doing business with this company.

I met with owner/field representative
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
Bavin (very nice man, not pushy or overbearing, was informative and gave me a discount on the initial repair) and discussed the scope of work needed and the options to get it completed. After that meeting, he said I would be contacted by their office manager
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and she would schedule the work. I waited for almost two weeks with no call and decided to call and see what was up. I had to leave a message because
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was not in the office and only she could set the appointment. I left my number and waited. Again, no call... I then decided to call
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and let him know I had not been contacted and that I wanted to be sure someone would get back to me. He said he would have someone call me right away and get the appointment set up. I was then called by
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
later that day and was given the reason that they had my number wrong and could not get in touch with me. I understand that things happen, so I let it go. I set the appointment with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and ended the call. The day of the appointment,
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
arrived with his crew who performed work. The work was done well but due to the age of the roof, I needed a roofer to come in and do repairs before
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew could finish. That delay had nothing to do with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, it was all on my end and it took some time to complete. Once the roof issue was corrected, I called in again and spoke with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
to get the work completed. She was on the other line/project and said she would get back to me with a time. I then waited again, no call back and after two days I had to call in yet again to find out what happened. I spoke with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
again and she informed me of a date that they would be out to finish the job. I said OK and when that day came around, nobody was here. I called in again and was told it was a "mistake" and they were sorry but the next date was not for another week. So I waited another week and finally got the job completed. The whole time through this,
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was very professional and did everything as he promised. He also came back out to connect a controller line that my pool service supplied to make sure the unit was up and running. Flash forward to about two weeks ago, I noticed that there were bubbles in my pool and it sounded like the air check valve was stuck open. I called in to
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
to make a service appointment, left a message with my name and number and never got a call back to date. I have never seen this many issues with an office and such a terrible follow-through. Once, even twice I would understand but this is beyond that and really comes down to terrible office service.

Initially I spoke with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
who later came out and worked on the monitoring system. My consult was with a young man named
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
who was very knowledgeable and best of all did not give off the "salesman" vibe. Some of the other companies sell Solar like the aluminum siding salespeople in the movie Tin Men. The more I spoke with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
the more trust I had with Mimeos and the more I found myself hoping that the pricing and product was going to be fair and solid. I had gotten answers to my many questions about Solar from other bidders who had come out, but when I asked the same questions of
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
he usually gave me simpler, better answers to those same questions. The company does more than solar and hires independents to do the work. They do have all the necessary licensing--I would check this online for any installer I plan to hire. One of the most important elements in my buying decision was to make sure that I generated enough energy to cover my entire bill for the year. When I brought up the fact that my last years energy usage might be low compared to previous years with other companies it was mostly ignored.
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
took time to look at my spreadsheet (with my previous energy totals and bills) and discuss what would work best for me. All the people who worked on the job I got to know on a first name basis--not because they were there too long--just because they were all professional and friendly. Keeping the work area clean everyday is important and they were extremely thoughtful in this regard. I was told ahead of time when workers were coming and everyone working on the project went out of the way to make sure my neighbors weren't disturbed. All the hardware went in easily and the only issue I had was with accessing the monitoring software. I switched from a static
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
to a dynamic (the system was originally set up with a static
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and was working), so there needed to be some changes to get it working. The system was still generating energy fine, but I wasn't able to view it. Mimeos kept following up until the system was operational and functioning normally. Other companies might disappear after final payment is received, but not Mimeos. I would frequently get emails from Kaliza during the process about inspections, rebates and general updates on the entire process. Whenever I would get an email from her I sometimes thought she was even more excited about my solar project than me--just a very pleasant vibe. On occasion I spoke with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, the owner, about certain concerns I had and he was very accommodating and took care of me as well. When I almost made the decision to hire another company I spoke to
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and explained the situation and he worked with me on the system to get the bids closer in price. I consciously made the decision to pay a little more knowing that I wouldn't have to worry about the end result or have aggravation during the process (and I'm sure glad I did)! I highly recommend Mimeos!

The thing that attracted me to
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
is that they had been in business 30 years! Some of the other companies were barely pushing 3 years. I first spoke to a woman, was then referred to
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, got a call from
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
who was my future contact and got an email from
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
. Since I had already got more than a few estimates at this point I wanted to make sure that they would be in the "ballpark"--I was concerned about wasting both mine and their time.
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
promised me an estimate 2-3 days later and I received it after emailing a day after that--they are obviously busy. After reviewing the estimate and speaking more with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
he felt that a site visit/measure would make the most sense. He came out a week later and revised the original estimate with hard numbers. He was, by far, the most knowledgeable and experienced person I spoke with regarding solar. It wasn't that he just knew everything (he did!) it was that he could relay the information is easy to understand plain language. He was extremely patient and pushy is not in his nature. So, why didn't I use
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
? It was the price. Although I was willing to pay a little more for the service, warm and fuzzy feeling, knowing I was getting the best gear, etc. I couldn't justify $10k more for it. I wholeheartedly recommend
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
. If you aren't looking to pinch pennies and don't want to waste time interviewing contractors that you won't end up using anyway, just go with the BEST and give them a call.

I spoke with Dapo on the 20th and was told that it would take 1-2 days to get a meeting set up. Due to a conflict I had I met with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
on the 26th. I was a bit confused because
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
seems to be the President of WorldStarSolar, but was representing/working for
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
(which seems to have independents working with them)? To be honest, I'm not sure what the exact situation is... If there is one word to describe
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
it would be "persistent." He called, emailed more than all the other companies put together. I'm not the type that gets intimidated by people, but I was starting to feel that enough was enough. Let me back up...
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was extremely knowledgeable and presented a good system at the best price of any of the other companies. If price is the most important thing I would call him first. He wasn't tied to any particular brand of equipment and when I changed my mind about the brand of panels I wanted, he was more than happy to adjust the bid. He was always quick with an answer and if he didn't know, he'd check and then get back to me. However, I started to get the feeling that his persistence and answers involved a little bit of "fast-talking." In fact, I decided to move forward with the project, but during the contract process an issue came up with the monitoring system. It was a small issue and
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was going to take care of it, but I just felt that the whole process was being rushed and that something else might get forgotten along the way. The project was just too expensive to not have a "good feeling" about it. In the end, I think it was just not a good personality match, so I would still consider recommending someone call
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
for an estimate.

I spoke with the receptionist(?)
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and she transferred me to
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
(who was an intake person). After answering a few questions I was set up for an appointment with
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
. Due to an emergency our first appt. needed to be re-scheduled, but the
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was nice enough to come to my office and go over the system. The equipment recommended seemed to be high quality but the panels were lower power in comparison to other recommendations and power optimizers were recommended in order to increase efficiency. Although I thought this might make the bid more expensive, the price was actually reasonable compared to other bids I received. All my questions were answered although I didn't get the feeling that the salesperson was quite as knowledgeable as some of the others I met with. I was given a nice brochure specifically tailored to my bid that included product info, information about
Georgetown Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and diagrams of the layout for my place, etc. Because I decided that I would rather stay away from power optimizers and go with fewer, higher power panels I went with another company. I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting an estimate from them--and they have been in business for ~ 8 years now.
