Installed wrong product - didn't make it
right.
We didn't shop around too much on this occasion and in retrospect I think we
paid too much even if we'd gotten the product we wanted.
We went into the local
and picked out the flooring we wanted. We were
very specific during the selection process to let the salesman know that we
wanted the flooring that had beveled edges on ALL FOUR SIDES. We found a
terrific product that could be installed as a floating floor called Quik Step
Perspective 4 laminate flooring. I still remember the product number UF861. That
infamous product number. Well, the salesman needed to come out to our home to
measure and said he'd bring a sample of the product with him to make sure
we liked the color as well in our home as we did in the store. We knew we
wanted that particular product, but it did come in a few different colors so we
thought that was a good idea. He arrived at our home, measured, and we
discussed the color and both agreed that we liked the color as well at home as
we had in the store. We inquired about the lack of end bevel on the sample he
brought, but he said it was only a piece of the middle of a board (it was only
about 2 foot long) and explained that was why the end
could not be seen.
He wrote the sale up right there in our home and used the product number on the
sample.
I got off of work for the installation.
When the installer had laid down about ¼ of the floor I noticed there were no
end
. I immediately called
and was told that the salesman was
unavailable and that they would leave a message for him to call me. I waited a
bit and then called again and got another person who informed that they were
putting down the flooring that I’d ordered and I’d better let them finish
laying the floor and that the salesman would have to sort it out later. I was
really dumb to not have the initiative to go in and tell the installer to stop
putting down the floor. In retrospect it was my first home improvement and I
was way too mousy. Well – there was a lot going on at that time but I still made
time, usually during my work day, to call
– over and over. They just
kept telling me that the salesman wouldn’t make that kind of mistake and that I
had signed on the dotted line. They definitely are NOT customer oriented AT
ALL. Finally after literally pleading and begging with them and truly trying
very very hard to wear them down by finally just refusing to get off the phone until
I got satisfaction – pleading and pleading and really begging the manager to
make things right, she finally agreed to “come out and take a look at the
floor.” What the heck? What does that mean? “Take a look at the floor.” Was she
planning to look at it and tell me it didn’t look that bad? Without the end
it, quite honestly looked more like a bowling
than a galley
kitchen. I was indignant but at least it was something. I’d have a human in my
home addressing the situation. Well, my grandmother died the next week, and of
course a funeral took place within another week. During the funeral
processional to the cemetery I got a call from a somewhat irritated

manager lady who was apparently at my home and ready to “take a look at” my
kitchen floor. I told her that I was at my grandmothers funeral and she
apologized and said we would reschedule
it. Well, the first one hadn’t actually been scheduled (she just showed up) so
I should not have been surprised when I never heard from
again. Ever.
As you can imagine, I was tired at this point. I put a big rug over the floor
so I wouldn’t have to look at it and threw in the towel. If anyone had told me
they’d been treated this way by a company that has been in business for so long
I would not have believed it. I still can’t believe it. I will never, ever, use
again.
The flooring, by the way, started to
delaminate in front of the pantry after only 3 months. Now, 8 years later there
are other, larger areas that are delaminating. After the way they treated me I
choose not to try to invoke the 25 year warranty that the floor carries. We are
now replacing all of it with
Sheet Vinyl through Carpet Outlets of
TX.
The carpet that
installed was
installed fine and wore decently well. I’m not sure how long carpeting is
supposed to last but we are replacing the den carpet after 8 years because it
is really shot at this point. It was a
.
Stay away from
. They do not
understand the meaning of customer service. Once they have your money, or your
signature, they wash their hands of the sale.
(Just a side note - the installer didn't follow the directions for installing the flooring and therefore there are pattern repetitions more often than there should be which results in a more artificial look.)

When I first decided to take advantage of the Big Deal, I had never been a part of a major remodel or reconstruction before, so I had no idea what to expect. I only knew that my front bathroom needed desperately to be redone.

was extremely patient with me while I took the time to choose my shower tiles, floor tiles, hardware and all the rest, and was spot on with great answers whenever I had questions about what to buy. He came in several times before the work began and made sure I had all the right measurements as well as to confirm what it was I wanted to do. When the day finally came to start the demolition, I was a little nervous, but he and his crew were very good about keeping the mess to a minimum. They took care to protect my home as they hauled everything out, and were careful about cleaning up when they were done. When reconstruction was underway,

was right on top of everything and was quick to ask me questions about exactly how I wanted things to be as each step was taken, and was helpful in giving me advice whenever I wasn't sure. My new bathroom is absolutely beautiful. I am so thrilled with the work. Everyone that has come in to see it has just been in awe. I will be contracting with these folks again to replace the countertops in my kitchen as well as to do the remodel in my master bath.

Everything went very well. Excellent job on all items. Iwould say that clean up after the job was complete was the only issue and that was very minor and resolved immediately.

This couldn't have been a more agreeable transaction. We particularly appreciated the attention and consideration given us on what for them must have been a very small order (1 room). The carpet was a perfect choice and the installation was done very professionally. We had a carpet remnant bound at their establishment to make runners for our front entry as well. We are completely pleased by the carpet and the service. A wonderfully group with which to work.

It went as expected and she referred us to an excellent glass company COUNTRY GLASS & MIRROR to complete the shower and it looks marvelous.

again is professional and if you have any complaints whatsoever, she will come right away and correct anything that you want corrected. She did not care mind how many times I changed my mind or how many questions I had, she was ready for all of them and was so patient and understanding. I am planning to replace a kitchen counter top with a new back splash in the near future and I have Complete Stone Designs in mind for this project as well.

and his crew redesigned existing walls to accomodate the bathrooms new designs. Moved existing electrical to accomodate heated floor and new lighting. Rerouted HVAC in new bath. Put up new drywall and textured. Tiled both bathrooms - great craftsmanship. Installed new vanities and mirrors and all new lighting. Oversaw the installation of new window, granite countertops and shower doors. Attention to detail is outstanding and was much appreciated. Tile cutting was done outside along with the hardwood cutting. Installed new baseboard and trim throughout. Will call on him again for our rental house remodel.

This went very well. There was a tenant in this property and they did an amazing job of working around the tenant's possessions.

helped me pick out the tile for the kitchen floor and got a great deal on some granite for the countertops. They did a really great job on the tile floor. They moved wires and hoses where needed to do a stackable washer/dryer so we could add a dishwasher to this small kitchen. They enclosed part of an old stairwell for expanding the closet and added shelving and light. These old apartments just don't have enough closet space and this added a lot of storage. They painted the kitchen cabinets and repaired latches. They also painted the inside of drawers and cabinets. A lot of the work was in determining what we could do to improve this small apartment and then how it could be done. There were many plumbing and electrical issues to be solved.

, the owner, is very good at visualizing this and helping me put it together. They do very nice painting and are neat and careful.
