"I liked Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
. However, I did not like the new patient scheduling policy. A new patient must call the first business day of the month to get an appt. It took a long time before I got through on the phone to get an appointment. It was no problem scheduling my follow-up."

"My experience with Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
was the best experience I've had through out all of my experiences with doctors. From the first day I went to see him, he made me feel comfortable and relaxed as if I had been seeing him for years. With my previous doctor I was put on so many drugs that I felt like a walking robot. Once I went to Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
he was able to adjust my medication which I've now been on for 2 years and never felt better. His secretary is also very nice and takes the time to help you in whatever you need. Overall I would recommend Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
to anyone who is unhappy with their present physician. You won't be sorry

"The psychiatrist who monitors the medications, Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
, is very bright. He does listen to what I need and what works for me. I would rate the practice a B overall. They are very hard to get in touch with. They also deal with a lot of Medicaid folks and people who are deeply disturbed and they have only a small area. I've had to have this care for a long time and sometimes I don't feel safe. But the staff is very professional and that's why I stay with them. "

"He was able to give me an accurate diagnosis in a timely manor. He was very professional and caring. He prescribed a medicine that worked well for me. The office staff was very friendly and helpful."

"He will listen to me even though they are very short visits. He seems up to date with the medications that are used for ADD and ADHD but he books people very tight together so I have a long wait in his waiting room."

"I have been seeing Dr. Flume for a couple of years. She is a very good doctor. It is obvious that she truly likes what she does and that she truly cares about me as a patient. She is very empathetic and patient and has always been very respectful of me. She has done much for me that I consider above and beyond what most doctors would do.
Dr. Flume is very experienced in psychiatry with a long term practice. She is very current in her knowledge. She has a background in pharmacy and knows medications very well. She is a strong proponent for the use of medication but does not force medication on patients. She has always given me the pros and cons and let me make the decision as to whether or not to use medication. My choice not to use medications at times or for particular symptoms has not effected the doctor patient relationship one way or another. "

"He seems to be very experienced with kids and very knowledgeable about the medications. His science is very based on let’s see how this works, so there is lot of experimentation, but he listens very much to what’s going on. He does not have a prescribed idea of what we should do. He wants to hear what he has prescribed is doing and then makes adjustments."

"Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
has made changes in the office staff since I've been a patient (2005), yet I did not have negative experiences with anyone in her office. I keep in mind she has busy practice and her staff has to interact with a diverse range of individuals on a daily basis. Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
did not immediately recommend I talk with a therapist. She wanted to get my condition stabilized and then recommend other therapy as needed. Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
makes changes/adjustments to my medications and explains why. She is very straightforward and honest. I appreciate her matter-of-fact demeanor.

"Wonderfully! My daughter was in a crisis type mode initially, and she also had a bad reaction to one of the more commonly prescribed medications used for teenagers. Whenever we called, even afterhours, the psychiatrist promptly returned our calls if it appeared to be a possible medication side effect or a crisis type situation. He calmed us all down and helped us determine that it was more of an anxiety attack than anything else, and promptly saw her afterwards to re-evaluate her medication. Now, almost 2 years later, he still takes a few minutes to speak to my daughter alone and then to both of us together, to make sure everything is going well for my daughter. We are very appreciative of the UT Medicine's Child Psychiatry deparment, and to Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
specifically.

"Dr.
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
prescribed meds for my husband and when we asked about side effects and duration of taking the meds, she blatantly lied to us. We asked about the long-term plan for these meds (because our plan was to use them for a short period of time during this work crisis) and her response was that most people need to be on a smal
Galveston Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
forever. Because we had nowhere else to turn in a crisis situation, we continued to see her and eventually my husband decided to try titrating off the meds himself. This didn't go well and he ended up in the hospital during Christmas. During that time, he completely rid himself of the meds and we found another doctor. Before even seeing this new doctor, we were asked to sign a blanket release form stating some patients are prescribed these kinds of medications and if one isn't careful, you can end up in the hospital with all of the symptoms my husband had! This other doctor NEVER TOLD US THIS INFORMATION EVEN WHEN WE DIRECTLY ASKED HER!
Her office staff was friendly and we could tell they often felt trapped by the uncomfortable position in which she put them by calling out patients' personal medical informaiton in the waiting room.
This woman should not be treating patients. She should seek treatment for herself.
