"Dr.
is a wonderful caring dentist. He goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and pain free. He did a personal follow up after" the procedure. His staff is delightful and very helpful. His dental hygienist is very personable and makes for a pleasant (almost fun) visti! I have been to a number of dentists over the years and I would have to rank this one as one of my top 2. High praise indeed!

"The staff were very courteous and helpful to me and my children. They were kind and explained everything that they were doing. The clinic manager was very helpful" with showing me different routes that I can take to take care of one of my kid's problem teeth. I will be returning with the kids and will be recommending their services to everyone that I know.

I am familiar witht he ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers across the country, in particluar, the one in Overland Park, KS.  They are a "one stop" implant center.  The doctors there are at the top of their field, and an advantage is that you have all of the specialists that will be working with you in the same place.  That would have to make communication easier between doctors.  They usually offer seminars for patients and I think, offer free consultations, which is always worthwhile.

If you chose to go the other way, some Prosthodontists will place and restore the implants themselves. In other cases, an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist will place the implant and a Prosthodontist or General Dentist restores it.   Fees can vary quite a bit from office to office and with the different options for restorative materials.  Some offer free consultations, for others, they charge a fee that might be applied to any future treatment in some cases.

The first step is to schedule a few consultations with different providers, which it sounds like you've already done.

The most important factors when deciding which practitioner to work with:
:
.1.  You should feel comfortable asking your doctor any questions so that you have a good understanding of the procedure itself, healing time and long-terem outcome, and possible complications.  Write down a list of questions and take them with you to the consultation.

2.  Ask about the experience of the practitioner. How many similiar procedures have they completed?  Have they had any major complications with any cases?  Ask to see photos if possible.

3..Figure out if it works out better for your schedule, to go to a "one stop" provider or to separate providers for the placement and the restoration of the implants.

4. Follow your instincts.  If you feel rushed, didn't get direct answers to your questions, didn't communicate well or had any other negative feelings, this probably isn't the doctor for you.

5. Consider insurance coverage and financing options.  If your dental plan covers implants and it is important to you to use a preferred provider, you will want to check your list.  Many times, insurance does not cover implants, or at least not all of the steps.  You may want to inquire about payment and financing options.

I hope this at least helps you feel a little less confused and a little more directed. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of further help.
Sincerely,
Beth L. Gehring,DDS, PC

As a  Dentist, I am sorry to hear about your denture nightmare and I know how frustrating that can be.  I am surprised that your doctor wasn't willing to work with you on some type of solution.  A few options would be either remaking the dentures once more,  or offering to return some of the money and have you return the dentures.   Unfortunately, the doctor has put in a lot of their time and lab expenses, but the patient also  has time and money invested.  You might try sending a letter re-explaining the problems you hand and offering an acceptible and fair solution.  Be sure to keep a copy of it and any correspondence you receive from the Dental Office.  In the event that you don't get anywhere, you have documentation of the problem.

At any point in the process, did they have you sign something saying you were happy with the denture set up?  Some practitioners will document the patient's acceptance at the try-in appointment, before the denture is processed.  At that time, changes in tooth arrangement, size and color can be made with minimal lab expense.

If the letter doesn't get you anywhere, you might try going to the governing body of the dental profession in your area.  I am a dentist in Blue Springs, Missouri, USA.  Here, we have the Missouri Dental Board  (or the Dental Division of the Missouri Department of Professional Registration.)  This is the entity that licenses us to perform our professional duties in our state.  They often have a process to file complaints against a provider if you were unable to resolve the problem yourself.   After your complaint is received, they will contact the doctor to get their side of the story, then try to mediate a solution between the two parties.

As far as a new set of dentures, you might seek out the services of a Prosthodontist (specializes in dentures and removable appliances - extra training and certification beyond general dentistry) or go to a local dental school.  The students are supervised and checked off at each step by professionals.  Most dental schools also treat patients through their faculty practices, and you can often get the services of a specialist at a lower price.

I hope this information is helpful to your situation, and I wish you well.

For the last 10 ten years, I've had my teeth cleaned every 3 months. Most hygienists remark about how clean my teeth are and what good shape they're in (they should be I have an extensive daily regime:-) However, from the start, Dr.
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
's dental hygienist, talked about areas that she felt would need to be addressed. Then, Dr. did a 7 minute "comprehensive exam" and provided a diagnosis on 2 teeth that he said would require a root canal and replacement of a gold crown ($3,404). This is not my first time at the rodeo and I found it odd that no one had ever recommended such extensive work, so I'd have to get a second opinion. I also mentioned a recent

Post article about the high ('outrageous') cost of dental work. At that point, Dr.
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
went from cool to hostile. He told me it costs a lot to run a practice and it was up to me if I wanted to take care of my teeth. His staff then presented me with a $265 bill for a tooth cleaning and 4 bite wing x-rays.

OMG! BEWARE of this place! They charge 300% more then other dentist. Dr
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
feels he can over charge for his services because he has been on TV. He is a total sham. The laser equipment he uses is over 10 years old, its rolls around the office, stained. The only reason they are open 3 days a week, because they charge outrageous prices for
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
procedures. I had $4200. worth of work done. I was having my teeth scraped, they did the right side of my mouth. Then I was told if I wanted the rest of my mouth done I had to pay right then and there for the other half. They brought a credit card machine to the chair, while under pain medicine, they swiped my credit card. I signed and they finished. I thought the way everything was handled, it was like a Slick

style. I have since talked to many people about Slick
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
, most people know of his crazy prices. I got pulled into his web of
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
. My teeth still hurt and are now sensitive to cold and heat that never happened before. I regret ever going to him. I heard now he sells weight lost shakes, hair replacement products and preforming throat surgery. Dr

is in my opinion, the old time medicine snake oil man. Promises the world in his office. You get nothing but your money taken. BEWARE OF DR

We liked doctor
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
very much, and other staff and technicians. But the billing protocol was almost a deal breaker. Fair enough price. But very pushy, at least the billing office girl. The first week we put down half the total cost (11,000) and we said the rest would be ready soon, as the balance amount was in our financial portfolio and would take a week or two to release. the office girl hounded us every day "where is the balance, we are going to have to cancel your place in our schedule unless we see it. Each day. I certainly thought 11,000 (half) was a righteous retainer and would prove good faith. we almost quit due to her hounding, but Dr
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
and Dr. Butura were excellent both in personality and as Dental Surgeons. So: A for the Doctors and Assistants, D or F for Billing procedures.

He has been my dentist for over 20 years. He is meticulous. If it doesn't feel right, he won't keep doing it. He kept coming in until he has it just perfect. The staff is great. They will take you at an emergency right away. He's the kind of guy that if you moved, you would still come back to him.

We love our dentist. we've been going for about 15 years. His staff is very friendly but they're also very thorough. I feel like he's not someone who's going to have you do things that you don't need to have done. He's very thorough.

During my most recent cleaning, the hygienist kept telling me "how much plaque was built up" and how I "must not be flossing." She kept this monologue up throughout the procedure until I finally told her to stop. I didn't understand the shaming--it was unprofessional, unnecessary, and untrue. I had buildup because I hadn't been able to schedule an appointment in over a year, not because I don't brush and floss.
If someone comes to the dentist, they obviously know they need some work done. There's no need to repeatedly point out the obvious. A more appropriate way for the hygienist to have handled my situation would have been to just clean my teeth, then tell me at the end that I had a lot of excess buildup, ask me questions to find out why this was happening, then provide product recommendations and teach me techniques to keep it from happening again.
Anyway, at the "shaming" visit, the hygienist didn't even finish cleaning my teeth. She scraped them, said she couldn't polish them that day, had me buy $18 mouthwash and some special flossers, then scheduled me for another appointment 10 days later.
Ten days later, I went in for my appointment and was told they were running "10 minutes late." 45 minutes later, I was told to reschedule my appointment because the office didn't have any more clean tools. When I expressed my frustration, the person at the front desk told me, "Well, you wouldn't want anything dirty in your mouth, would you?" No, I would not. However, "dirty tools in your mouth" or "reschedule your appointment" shouldn't be the only two options--especially after making me wait 45 minutes.
Yesterday, I went in for my third appointment. I had scheduled it for a Monday because I was told it was their least busy day. When I arrived, I was told they were running "a little late" again. There was already another client ahead of me, so I did not stick around for what was sure to be a repeat of last week. Now, I am now taking my family's business elsewhere. I took time off work THREE TIMES for a basic teeth cleaning and never did get the service completed.
I understand that procedures sometimes run unexpectedly long and know that most physicians double-book in case of cancellations because their time is valuable and they want to be profitable. However, my time is valuable too. At my billable rate, I cost my company over $600 in billable work by not being available to work during the time I spent traveling to and waiting in the dentist's office. This is, of course, on top of the personal vacation time I had to use in order to make these appointments.
This system just isn't going to work for me, no matter how much I like Dr.
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
. It's too bad, because he's very close to my home and I really liked the services I received during previous appointments.

I use Dr.
De Leon Cosmetic Dentists Provider Name Locked
, he is so far so good. I have had some really bad experiences with dentists, but this crew I think is very good so far. I was there last week. It went very well. The girls up front are very sweet and very nice. He is very friendly, very nice and has a natural rapport with people. I was really pleased to find somebody that knew what they were doing and had a good rapport and nice personality. I will continue to go to him for my dentistry work.
