I had
come out to ground outlets. He found 9 that need grounding but it turned into a bigger job than I first thought because some had 2 different kinds of wiring. Also he said that per the new code he would need to change the wiring, the boxes and the fuses. I asked for a quote so he called his boss and explained the work. I was given a verbal quote of $1500.00 and told it would take all day so I would have to reschedule. I said ok to the job. When he came out to do the work he said he would have a partner and that it would take 2 days. When he was finished everything was cleaned up so you didn't even know anything was done. I was very happy with the results until I got the bill, it was for $2200.00. I called
and complained about the big difference between the quote and the bill, he said he would look it over. He did lower the bill, so it came to $1900.00. That was better but next time I will get it in writing. Overall I was pleased with the work.

The electrician showed up 30 minutes early and went right to work. We quickly removed the old ungrounded outlet and then identified 3 solutions for the install and we chose the right one for us. He was thorough and fast.
When I asked a question about removing some old wiring (buried) we went the extra mile to draw it out of the ground. We were very happy and will use them with future jobs.

I got their number from your list. They were fairly close to our house. They came within the week. The fellow told me about how much to would be before they started. The work took about 2 hours. They cleaned up nicely. I still need more work done and will call them again.

and one crew member. Very professional and respectful.
They arrived on-time in two fully stocked vehicles at 8am
Quickly assessed the quickest and simplest possible route to install indoor wiring.
The two worked well on each end after which
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
left for his crew member to plan and install the provided flood light.
I had no idea how to run the wiring which is why I called a pro. Also It would have taken me all morning to install just the

flood. Was good to get that little project out of the way.
Got an estimate for another major project. All done around 10:20am Impressive.

I found
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
as I was researching on the internet about how to save on the cost of energy for our home. We are preparing to have our attic sealed and insulated very soon, and from the energy audit we had completed earlier by another Angie's List provider - Energeyes - we learned that we have inadequate air transfer, which not only causes there to be some rooms of the house to be cold in the winter (and we are tired of freezing!), but it can also cause your HVAC system to die before its time. As I stated previously, I found
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
quite by accident - he was an approved participating contractor through
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
Energy for their smart saver program (which is something else I was unaware existed - check out their webpage: http://www.

Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
's page and choosing a contractor to perform an HVAC health check - I chose
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
because his website won me over (full of info and gave me the warm fuzzies about
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
because it seems he's all about doing a good job and making his customers happy - http://www.a1electricalhvac.com/ I filled out an online form and
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
got right back to me. He got us on his schedule very quickly, arrived on time, listened attentively to all my concerns and questions, got to work right away on checking our outside unit (we have a split system), used all kinds of electronic meters and gauges, pinpointed issues that needed resolving that we didn't even know existed (we were 2 pounds low on coolant), explained to me things I was doing that were hurting instead of helping my system to work efficiently, made sure everything was set and running as it should be (which the original installers didn't seem to have bothered to do) ... all in all, I learned a lot about how to take care of, and get the best service from, my system. I was so impressed that I am now on his schedule for having my HVAC system checked and serviced twice a year - cost $180. The total paid ($403) included the service contract of $180, and 2 pounds of coolant $127.56, and the Smart Saver Energy Check $120...(the energy check is also eligible for a rebate from

Energy). If I could nominate
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
for the page of happiness, I would. He was great! If you are looking for an HVAC guy who is knowledgeable, does a thorough job, and is altogether honest, then call
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
. I didn't think it was possible to find someone like Mr.
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
in this day and age: he does quality work, goes above and beyond your expectations, and really cares about his customers. My husband and I were excited to have found someone who provides such excellent service and is so trustworthy. Mr.

I am very pleased that I decided to work with
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
. My house needed the electrical system completely overhauled. To give you an idea of how outdated the electrical was in my house, there was still knob and tube being used in much of the house. He replied to my inquiry promptly and we met up to figure out what I wanted completed. His price was right about what I was anticipating. He was straightforward with how much each element would cost. He informed me that he would not do the job unless it would be up to code with the proper permits. He made a couple of suggestions that were really good ideas, like turning the plugs sideways to match the style of the house and recessed lights in the living room with dimmer switches.
We arranged a date for him to start. The first phase of the job was November 29-December 5-6. He and one of his workers ended up being able to start on the 28th during the morning. He and his workers arrived on time and worked efficiently. They had to cut holes in the wall to run the wires properly and they saved all the little circles they cut out, which made it easier on my sheet rock contractor. Fortunately my house has a basement and the entire underside of the house was easily assessable, so they were able to run the new wiring without much difficulty. They removed all the old wiring as they came across it. He relocated the fuse box because it was cleverly placed over the gas meter, which is a code violation. He put in a new circuit breaker because the old one was a Federal Pacific that have a propensity to start fires. He put in wired smoke detectors, so if one goes off, the ones in the other bedrooms go off as well. He made sure all the appliances had their own circuits as well as the furnace. He labeled the circuit breaker panel too. Almost all of the plugs had to be arranged, so they would fit with the baseboards, so
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
thought to use larger boxes, so it could be adjusted once the baseboards were installed. They ended up finishing earlier than expected on the 3rd and then had PG&E come out on the 4th or 5th to run the new line to the house. The old line was only 100 or so, so the new one is 220. He finished the plugs he was able to, like the ones in the kitchen, that weren't dependent on other projects in the house being finished.
The second phase of the project was after other projects were completed, which was early May.
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
and his workers came and finished up. They installed all the plugs, light switches, and light fixtures. I bought the light fixtures and had them ready for install.
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
bought the recessed lighting and all the other supplies. He came back a couple weeks later to install a light in the back and to complete a plug that I'd somehow not noticed before.
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
was present for all the inspections and passed without any corrections each time. When I had an inspection for something else in the house, the inspector commented on how the electrical was done well.
The whole process was
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
and efficient. He was always easy to get in contact with. I added a couple things to the contract during the process and he was still able to complete the work faster than expected. I've been living in the house for a couple of months and everything is working perfectly. Whenever I need electrical work done, I'll be using
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
's company.

They were on time for the initial review / quote and then on time for the actual install. The team was very efficient and cleaned up after they were finished with the install. The lights look great!!! I received a quote from
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
and one other "A" rated electrician on Angie's list.
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
's estimate was much more reasonable than the other. Would definitely recommend
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
for electrical and lighting work.

I had contacted
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
to come give an estimate on replacing my old and out dated electrical panels. I was impressed from the start, as
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
came out and walked through each aspect of the job, making recommendations on what did and didn't need to be done. I had also contacted a couple other providers for estimates, but I was not as impressed with any of them as much as I was with
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
.
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
was very easy to get in touch with when it came time to schedule the work to be done. There were two guys who worked all day in the heat to complete the job. I regret not taking a before picture of the job, because I was really impressed with how well it was done. It was hard to believe how they turned such a mess of wires into a neat, orderly, and safe renovation. I would not hesitate to hire them for any other electrical job I should need.

Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
& Excel Electric are excellent to work with! I used them for this job and another when I was doing repairs on house I had up for sale.
The house had the original breaker panel, from Federal Electric. For those of you that do not know, these are considered faulty breaker boxes, and were common in houses built between 1950-1990. See http://www.angieslist.com/articles/your-federal-pacific-circuit-breaker-panel-safe.htm.
I contacted
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
, and they replaced the old Federal Electric box with a modern Square-D box and breakers. You can't get much better than Square-D for this type of equipment. The work was done quickly, and professionally.
I would not hesitate to use
Bowie Electricians Provider Name Locked
and Excel Electric again!!!!!
P.S. - I did use them again for a smaller job of Rewiring a GFE outlet that was problematic ($140). Same great service!!!
