"Well you wanted all the
.. here you go! I have to say, this company has the rudest family running it. From day one they kinda acted like" they didn’t want to take on my pool because we have bamboo leaves that fall in it.
said he’d have to charge more for that. I was okay with that as I am planning on buying a pool screen, however the contractor is backlogged for 3 months or so, meaning we can’t get it done until December. So I paid $100/month for service, extra for leaf cleaning including chlorine and weekly cleaning. I believe $75-85 would be the price once leaves weren’t an issue. I could tell he didn’t really want me to use them but I really needed the help, and Angie’s list had them as a pretty trustworthy source. I
’t think he realized that I had looked him up and found him on Angie’s list, so I
’t think they realize that this review is coming, seeing that they seem to have GREAT reviews from other people. I know i’m not a jerk because i go out of my way to be nice to people. so I figured that maybe they just didn’t like the work involved. So that was the only time I saw
, and I would even go as far to say that he was pretty okay and even knowledgable in general, but not too enthusiastic for my business. i have no idea why people do that in this day and age, but I understand everyone is different.. I was nothing but nice to all of them, even so, as we are new in the area and first time homeowners. His wife was no charm at all. Each time I asked her to help with things, she did, and knowledgeably. But i felt *such* a general disdain from her attitude every time.. from day one. I didn’t understand why. I even would make light of situations saying that I was a n00b and generally was asking for help to maintain things. I got maybe half a smile from her in all of this. They also b**** about how we
’t clean the leaves enough but i am out there every day skimming. i bought a $400 pool cleaner before
would even agree to be our serviceman, and a upon
’s recommendation, I also bought a $50 leaf canister that catches them. He had asked that we assist in picking up leaves, that we understand. My little pool cleaner tends to get stuck behind the ladder about 4 times a day, even when i have made sure everything is completely cleared.. so when
's wife came by, and saw it that way, she sent me a very long text which I found to sound quite lazy and rude considering that the amount of cleaning we do. We do use the pool a lot. I think they
’t find it worth it to put in the chlorine it needs, and the whole 15 MINUTES they spend cleaning it once a week. They bring their kids in to do it. They just really
’t seem to want to do their jobs. here is what
’s wife texted to me, verbatim: "Also, the last 3 weeks the pool cleaner has been jammed in pool ladder and not working in pool. The pool has very dirty. It is important that you make an effort to net the pool surface a few times a week to remove floating leaves. It is also imperative that the pool cleaner be on the floor and functioning everyday. Please check to make sure the cleaner is not wedged. It may be getting stuck because there are too many leaves in the skimmer clogging the flow regulator. We can not continue to service the pool without help. The fall and winter will only bring more leaf drop.” I happened to break my ankle this past week but I was still out there emptying the leaves. There was only ONE day that I really was hurting which was the day they came (thursday) and i hadn’t skimmed the pool and it had just rained , probably blowing leaves in, which in response i got this text. I felt it was very rude and inconsiderate that they would text me like that and threaten to not serve us anymore. She whines even when the pool is clean so I am not surprised that one day went by where I wasn’t on top of it and she would b**** about it. They are not professional at all. Additionally, about a month ago, she had a terrible attitude at my other half with a speech that he was claiming ‘willful ignorance’ that the gate was locked where she normally comes in.. and how it HAS to be unlocked for them. He was taken aback by that since it was the first time he met her.. she spent a lot more time b******* about it than any professional really should. She also came around to me and gave me a small speech too, which was quite unpleasant. She didn’t check the other side of house though, that gate is never locked. She didn’t want to go around, which isn’t far! Very professional, indeed. Why would she talk at him so rudely the first time they meet? She was very upset that he didn’t know it was locked, by the way we had only lived here 4 weeks at the time. I was the one who locked it because she left the gate wide open last time she came, and they come whenever they want between Wed-Fri so it’s not like we know when to expect them. My only response to her text was “Thanks, did you put chlorine in the pool?” Because I wasn’t even about to justify her complaining with a response or an apology when I PAY YOU. Do your job.
’t b**** about it. Needless to say I only asked that because you are FIRED and went looking for someone else immediately in the meantime. I found a much nicer gentleman that doesn’t mind that we get a few leaves in the pool, or that sometimes the gate is locked. I since just put a lock with a combination on it so it’s not rocket science to figure out, even though the other side is just fine to go in! Have a nice day guys. Maybe next time you shouldn’t treat your customers poorly even if you
’t think they are on Angie’s list! My recommendation would be not to use them if you need any actual help whatsoever. They only want easy work! I guess they are fine if you have a pool screen, and you like bad attitudes.

was able to work us into their schedule on short notice. She was always friendly and courteous. The guys were on-time, professional, and" explained everything they were going to do and their recommendations. It took a few trips out to since we didn't realize the pump was not operating properly but they got everything fixed and looking great.

My order of preference - first choice a jacuzzi/hot tub repairman (from a jacuzzi/hot tub/sauna distributor), second choice a plumber (many do not work on hot tubs, jacuzzi's and sauna because they cnanot afford to stock parts). An electrician might be able to fix it if it is a connection problem, but such motors are seldom repaired if the problem is internal, just replaced - which would be a jacuzzi repairman/plumber type job.

You will have to find out what your model costs new - looks like they run from about $400 to 1700 depending on size. IF yours is at the lower end, might be just as cheap to replace it, with parts and labor. If not low end, then repair probably works. Typical pricing of components that might have gone out - switch $80, timer/control unit $130, heating element $100 (probably most likely to have failed) - so if only one of these went out, figuring $100-200 labor, probably cheaper to fix it. I would contact your dealer for a better idea.

BTW - here is a Saunatec instruction on maintenance on the heating element and rocks, failure to follow can shorten heating element life, if that is what went out (and probably the simplest to replace) -

I'm sorry to say there aren't many of us on here with adequate experience working on pools, myself included.  My suggestion would be to contact a few local companies specializing in pool renovation and have them give their recommendations and bids for the work, breaking down order of operations so you know what to expect at which stages.  Check Angie's List for referrals in your area and cross check those with the BBB for any unresolved complaints.

came a few weeks prior to the installation to get all the correct measurements. As promised, the installers arrived on time and had the pool cover installed in about an hour. The pool cover looks fantastic.

and his team are very professionals and would definitely call them for any future maintenance.

over-charges and provides much less than promised service. They also sell add-ons which I discovered later are not required; e.g. they charged me to replace my filters once a year (pools were new to me) but for the past four+ years my new service just cleans them on a regular basis. They do not perform all the work they promise they will do; e.g. the pool needed to be vacuumed and the owner said his guy vacuumed the pool (I watch him do a quick check of the pool and he did not vacuum it, in fact, I never saw him vacuum the pool.) When my pump started leaking, he told me I should spend $1600 on a new variable speed pump and the payback in energy savings would pay for the new pump in a year. I checked the FPL energy calculator for pools on their website and found it would take several years to breakeven on this expensive pump. So I replaced it myself for a fraction of the $1600. The owner is very arrogant and obviously tries to take advantage of the homeowner. My current pool service shows up like clockwork and leaves a card by the pool after every service call. He does work on the system and is very reasonable and does not try to keep up selling me on things I do not need. Do not hire

as I recently saw their truck in our neighborhood and joined this site just so I could advise others about this situation. Several neighbors no longer use their services.

I purchased their $29 first month deal for a new house I purchased. After inquiring where the house was located, I got the response that
they did not service my area. I live in mid-St
Abilene Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, not a bad neighborhood. Their listing says that they serve all of Pinellas County
so I don't understand why they didn't want my business. No other explanation or option was offered or even a recommendation for another provider, simply told what phone # to call for a refund. Very unprofessional. I am still waiting to get my $29 back. I will always call the company first before spending any money to avoid this in the future.

Several jets for the spa have broken so ordered replacement parts. Also took in filter and they had it at 1/2 the cost of another spa dealer.
Parts guy also provided advice about chimney (they sell fireplaces) saving me a service call.
They have always been nice and helpful. Have referred several folks to them due to their great customer service.

Personnel from
Abilene Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
came and uncovered the pool on 23 Apr 15. Then I had to wait two days to fill the pool to an appropriate level for the remaining work in "opening the pool for the season" to occur. (This was due to drought conditions in our area and the city limits on using water during certain days). When appropriate level of water was obtained I was to call them back so they could finish. I called them back three days later and they were supposed to come out and finish opening it (i.e. clean it, place proper chemicals etc in it - just prepare it for swimming!) They never came. I called back again and was told they came out and did the work. I told the

they did not come out - the pool was still filthy and no chemicals had been put into the water. The

said she would make sure they came out. They never came out - even after several phone calls. I finally had to put my robotic cleaner into the pool to clean it and buy all the chemicals etc and open it myself. Then they sent the bill for services - which I ignored. Then they sent several more bill for the service - finally a lawyer sent me a letter and needless to say I ended up paying the bill even though they did absolutely nothing except take the cover off.
