"So far, it has gone great. We haven't slept on the bed yet, however.
was running a little late, but he called and let us know in a" timely manner. This can happen when there is an earlier appointment, so it is not something I blame
was able to use the broken footboard to make the repair. He needed to add some brackets, replace and add screws, and glue the pieces together. I was surprised that the footboard did not need replacement. However, this meant the wood finish still matched. The bed frame looks as good as it did before it was broken. Because of the way
repaired the bed frame, it most likely will be stronger than it was originally. Since the bed is an obsolete size (California queen), we are thrilled that it could be repaired; we can still use the unusually-sized mattress we had made a couple of years ago.

"They were just great. The couch is over 50 years old, and very long, and the framing needed to be fixed. They refinished the cherry wood around the edges of the" fabric, fixed the frame and re-upholstered the couch. Mr.
came by himself and helped me pick out the fabric, he was very knowledgeable about durability etc. He was very flexible with me in terms of where I could get the fabric, the quality of the work was great, and they were very timely. I will use them again for sure.

Furniture Refinishing & Repair

Many families have learned the hard way that antique furniture inherited from the grandparents can't be treated as roughly as modern furniture with its polyurethane finish. Here are tips on what you can do about older furniture that has become damaged. You can make some minor repairs yourself or hire a local furniture repair expert.

Angie's Answers

That's an interesting concept, plus now you can buy all-new furniture at your new place. You can find ratings and reviews on local real estate agents on Angie's List. I would definitely finding a few agents who are familiar with that kind of listing, or alternatviely, you may want to consider an auction house to help sell off our furniture (which you can also find on Angie's List). Check out both servcies here www.AngiesList.com

If you use promo code ANSWERS, you'll get 20% off an annual membership. Good luck with your sale!

1) contact local furniture store that handles and repairs recliners. Frequently, even if they do not have the exact spring, they can come up with a pair that is close enough in length and stiffness that you can swap both and get satisfactory performance.

2) google your local barcalounger dealer - they might be able to get parts or keep a few common ones like springs in stock

3) write the company - Corporate Address: 400 W. Main Street, Suite 210 Morristown, TN 37814 It went bankrupt in 2010 and was bought by HPC3 Furniture Holdings - manufacturing in china now but distributing in US.

4) Google the phrase - barcalounger parts - there are a number of companies listing parts for sale, including springs

fixed the chair on time, sent updates along the way. He also discovered an imbalance in the frame, which he fixed to prevent future damage. He was very accommodating in the drop-off/pick-up of the furniture. Overall, great experience, would/will use him again.

My basement was completely drab until
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
transformed it magically through her artistry and talent. She turned a typical builder's white basement into an impressive work of art. Her faux finishing of the walls and of my bar area were so impressive that it resembles a classic Spanish style wine cellar. Her obsession to details resulted in ordinary walls being transformed into the illusion of a classic brick and mortar finish. Furthermore, her outstanding choices of color, lighting and accessories have made what was an unimpressive storage area into the coziest and most inviting area of my house. Visitors to my house cannot help but touch the walls with amazement. I have never seen this type of artistry anywhere else.
Her talent was not just limited to the faux finished walls and bar, but she even refinished the drab factory finished cabinets in the bar to perfectly match the walls, the bar and accessories. I was stunned at how she transformed the ordinary into extraordinary finished furniture.
Finally, she restored my hundred year old antique furniture and gramophones, which had numerous dents and damage from age and humidity. They were literally brought back to life, as they may have been 100 years ago when sold by the manufacturer. The little dog in "His Master's Voice" sticker never looked better.
Everything was completed on time, with cleanliness and absolute professionalism and for a price that could not be beat anywhere! I strongly recommend

I purchased this in August and have never been able to schedule the work. He is not responding to repeated attempts to contact him. I have finally begun to ask for a refund but have not heard from him about that either.

I cannot say enough nice things about Mr.

. He is an absolute miracle worker! The rocking chair he did for me was my grandmother's and had been in my basement for years. It was VERY neglected. Thanks to Mr.
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
it is once again a beautiful piece that I hope to rock my grandchildren in some day. He did such a great job that when he delivered the rocking chair I sent him off with a table to repair and refinish. I will highly recommend him everyone. He is talented, friendly and the work he did was well worth the cost. Such a pleasure to work with him!

refinished a chest of draws to match furniture pieces in the same bedroom that the chest was going to be placed in our home. Although it took a lot more time to refinish the chest than I anticipated, the chest looks like a new piece of furniture with a perfect match to its other bedroom pieces. In all fairness, I was not in a hurry to get the piece refinished, but it did take a lot of time. Then again,
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
seems to be a perfectionist, which explains the quality of work performed on our chest. The only reason I gave them a rating of "B" is because of the time period, otherwise, everything was excellent and I would have rated them an "A".

was easy to work with and was apologetic about the time; He wanted to get out all of the imperfections that I didn't notice without him pointing them out to me.

did an awesome job getting our GIANT couch down our NARROW staircase into our finished basement.
A little background: we bought a house at the end of December, and found a couch we really liked to go in the finished basement. This is our first house and we didn't think to measure the staircase, assuming any piece of furniture we chose would just fit. Much to our chagrin, this was not the case. The couch we bought was too big to go down into our basement in one piece (believe me, we tried). For about a week, I intended to live with the basement couch staying upstairs in our living room. That was, until I did some Googling around and found that others have had furniture upholstery professionals perform "surgery" on their couches to take them apart, get them through tight spots, then reassemble them in the destination room.
So, with that background, I contacted a few furniture upholstery companies and asked if they could do my couch disassembly & reassembly.
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was by far the most responsive and helpful. He asked for pictures of the couch and a description of where I wanted it to go, and then promptly provided a quote, which I found to be quite reasonable. He told me upfront that there would be a short wait because he was catching up from his busy season. I accepted that because, hey, the couch wasn't going anywhere.
A couple of weeks later,
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
showed up on the originally scheduled date, right on time and ready to go. He got right to work, and after about an hour and a half, and lots of scary noises from the sawzall, he was ready and we took the couch pieces down into the basement, where he proceeded to reassemble it back into one piece. About an hour later, I had my couch back to better-than-new condition (it seemed more solid) and in the basement, as originally intended! If you weren't told, you'd never know it had been cut up and put back together.
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was very professional and did a great job, and in the end his price was LOWER than his original quote!
Whenever we move (hopefully not for a long time), I'll be looking to him first to get the couch back out of our basement.
I highly recommend

and his company.

did a huge project for us which included stripping the old finish off three staircases, sanding, staining and finishing all the steps and handrails. The guys finished the job in record time and worked meticulously to ensure that every inch of the work area would be covered and masked off from the rest of the house. If it weren't for the amazing looking staircases, I wouldn't have been able to tell anyone was even in the house.

, the sales/project manager, was extremely patient and always available to answer questions and take calls. Due to our schedule, we needed the job done by a specific date -
Smithville Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was able to rearrange their existing jobs to fit us in and get everything done a day early. Entire staff was extremely friendly, professional and obviously very experienced. Their pricing is a bit on the high side - but with these guys you know you'll have a perfect experience from start to finish. We will be calling them again to refinish our front door this summer.
