"although they got good reviews, when I asked about repairing a small wine refrigerator, the owner said he didn't know if he could get parts and I should look" elsewhere. didn't volunteer to come look at it for an estimate or anything.

"My husband dropped his iPhone 5s in the pond and it took him approx 7-9 minutes to get it out. We took it to
and they were friendly, prompt," helpful and very nice. It needed a front camera and a new battery which cost a little over $100. After picking it up and having it for several days he noticed it still wasn't working at 100%. I called them back and they said bring it back in and they would do a standard water damage service on it. So we did that and picked it up a day or two later to find it still had problems. We took it back again and mutually agreed it had sustained too much damage being in the water so long. They offered to refund us our money back with the exception of the standard $50 service amount. Although it made sense I wasn't expecting it. In this day and age to get a refund AND with a smile AND great customer service......well let's just say we recommend them and will go back although we hope we don't have to.

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

Since you asked this question over a year ago, I'm pretty sure you've already made your decision but I'd like to offer you some advice.  You mentioned your husband vacuumed the coils and it worked for a couple more weeks.  Chances are the condenser coils were very dirty when he did this.  When refrigerator condenser coils are dirty, the compressor overheats and heat will cause a compressor to fail prematurely.  You should vacuum or blow out your condenser coils regularly.  Today's refrigerator compressors are not made to last like they were in the past.  I remember when it wasn't unusual for a compressor to last 30 years.  You won't see that happen with the way refrigerator compressors are made today.  Regular cleaning of your condenser coils is crucial in preventing premature failure of your compressor.  For more tips, check out my article here on Angie's list titled "How To Avoid Appliance Repairs"

The person who came to fix the gas dryer was very courteous and professional. I thought that the price estimate was a bit high but I needed it fixed so I agreed. After the quote, he immediately began doing the work as agreed. He found that the venting needed to be replaced also, and he did not charge me for this since it wasn't in his estimate. I was very happy with that fact and it made the price seem a bit more acceptable.
I would definitely use this company again, they showed up when they said they would and everyone I spoke with was very professional.

the Horribly. The provider was very responsive and showed up on time. HE went on to check the garbage disposal and started hitting the top part (accessed via the sink). I asked him what he was doing and his answer was fixing it. After 20-25 hits the garbage disposal started running. He tested it with water and ice. He told me that since there was water on the floor (small leak) the garbage disposal needed to be replaced. I asked whether the leak came from the appliance or the pipes. He got really annoyed, told me that he is the professional, knows his stuffs, would tell me if the pipe connection is leaking, and then he left with a quick good bye. I found him to be very unprofessional, did not want to tell me what is wrong or explain me what he is trying to do. Will never hire him again.

I believe that this contractor works exclusively for Spencers TV and Appliance, whom I actually bought the range from.
After removing the old unit, I was told that because the sizes between the old and the new were different, there would be an installation fee. I selected the unit based on it's dimensions and supposedly matching those of the old unit. Regardless, I would have appreciated knowing that there was going to be an installation fee.

I also appreciated that they took the old unit with them!

We contracted Friday through our home warranty company to replace a built in microwave that was making a very loud buzzing noise when it was turned on. During the initial visit, the repairman broke the glass door. I was not upset over a mistake that was understandable, but what came next is indicative of their overall service. The repairman quickly left, neglecting to clean the mess of broken glass despite the knowledge of two 3 year old children in the home. We saw him go out through the front door in a rush and expected to have him come back in and finish the remainder of the repairs. Instead, we watched as his truck pull out of the drive.
I called Friday and after the weekend they got around to returning my message. The door replacement, in addition to a few other parts would need to be ordered and we would be notified when ready. No big deal, that bit is understandable. The repairman returned a couple weeks later and replaced the door, but noting else. He told us our parts were on order.
What occurred next is a collection of messages and broken promises over a 6 week period. We would call and check the status of our parts, a receptionist would arrange for the repairman to come out and complete the work, then no one would show up. Eventually, they stopped returning our messages and I called the home warranty company to engage the services of a vendor who could perform the work requested on schedule.
If it were not for the fact that this was through a warranty company, I would have selected a new vendor after that first visit; big mistake. This company is an absolute joke.

My initial call was returned promptly. I was already aware that I needed to replace the entire garbage disposal. I was given a price for the job over the phone.

The tech arrived on time and spent about fifteen minutes with the washing machine. He told us that the problem was the main computer board in the washing machine. He said he wasn't sure but he thought the part cost about $500.00. He then looked it up on his computer and corrected it to $400.00. He said we would be better off buying a new washing machine, one without a computer. That sounded like a reasonable recommendation and we paid the agreed upon amount and he left.
Later I went to my computer to look for the part myself and found it for $140.00 delivered. Then I looked around and found a video showing how to replace it. It looked dead easy (and I am not generally a diy guy) so I ordered the part and installed it (it would have taken an experienced person 15 minutes - it took me 45). The washing machine worked fine.
I am a little puzzled as to why the tech did this (he surely knew the real price of the part). I basically think that he figured that $99.95 was likely 90% of what he would realize from this call even if he did the repair which would mean another trip, so he elected to take the money and run.
I suspect that this company is basically the "

" of appliance repair and that none of these people are employees. It is simply the luck of the draw as to what tech you get.
I am reasonably happy with the ultimate outcome, but I don't think I will do business with them again.

I called
Maryville Small Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
to get someone to determine why my furnace would not start, and to fix the problem. A technician was sent to my home. He looked at my furnace and quickly determined that a fuse in the furnace had been blown. At that point he informed me that he was not qualified to deal with an electrical problem, and that I would have to call someone else to repair my furnace. At that point I decided that I would indeed call someone else, not

In the mean time I received a bill from

for twice what I had been told would be the charge for a service call. When I called

Our coils were shot. Svilen diagnosed the issue and showed us his cost for the parts needed, which were backordered at his usual supplier. They were also very costly. With labor, the cost of repair would have been nearly $1000, which was far more than the machine was worth. He recommended replacement, and noted that the service life an appliance made for the American

was usually 5-10 years.
We also were having some minor issues with our washer, which he also looked at, without charging us for an additional service call. The issue there was apparently of our own making. He took the time to show me how to obtain diagnostics from the machine myself, which I appreciated.
Svilen was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgable and willing to teach a man to fish (rather than just feeding him). We'd certainly use him again.
