had to come and "disconnect" my system before the old windows were removed; they then came back to "reconnect" the system when new windows were installed. On another occasion, I had a plumber working in my home to solder a leaking pipe....he was concerned that the heat from the soldering would set off smoke alarm/security alarm. I promptly called
....they disconnected my alarm while the plumber was working.....called them back when plumber was finished and they connected my system again. This was all done very quickly and efficiently over the wait involved; and there was no charge for this service. In short, I am very pleased with

for my retirement property located in
, TN in January 2013. This property is located approx. 517 miles from my primamry residence in Missouri. In January 2013 I began receiving "system error" alarms which the
sercice desk could not correct over the phone so they scheduled an
technician to come to my TN property in February 2014. The technician noted the emergency light/siren components of my alarm system were not wired AC with DC back-up as required and was powered solely by battery and the battery was dead. The tech ordered a replacement battery which took two days to arrive and for which I had to schedule another maintenance appointment. The tech told me the battery would only last a year and I would have to schedule it to be replaced every year in January. I told him this was unacceptable as I requested and was paying for an AC powered system with battery back-up because my property was located in a remote area off the main road and the only way the police would be able to find it was by locating the light/siren. The tech told me to contact
which I did through my on-line "My
" account. I filed an official compliant with
concerning this issue in March 2014 via their on-line customer service. To date I have never received a response to this written complaint. I was visiting my property again in May 2014 (I usually only visit the property two or three times a year, but this year I made additional trips because we were moving some valuable items in the building located there - which is why we have it alarmed). In May 2014 I notied another "system error" message and called the
service desk. They scheduled another tehcnician to come to my property June 5, 2014 to repair the malfunctioning light/siren. The technician could not fix the light/siren so he told me he was going to order a new light/siren and this one would be AC powered with battery back-up as required. He also indciated that
sometimes subcontracted projects and apparently a subcontractor installed my original light/siren as the equipment was "non-standard". The
service desk contcated me on June 9, 2014 and attempted to schedule the equipment replacement appointment for June 16th. I told them I could not be there that day as I had to drive 517 miles one way from my MO residence. I asked if the appointment could be scheduled for the afternoon of
3, 2014 as we intended to be in TN for the 4th of
weekend. The service desk rep said this would be fine and scheduled me for 12 - 5 PM,
3, 2014. I received a "reminder email" from
2, 2014 reminding me of my
3rd, 12 - 5 PM appointment. I worked
2nd and then got up at 1 AM
3rd in order to drive to my TN property to meet the
technician between 12 - 5 PM. I arrived at approx. 1045 AM
3rd and received a voice mail from
at approx.1145 informing me my 12 - 5 PM appointment was canceled because the parts to my system did not come in and were not projected to be available until
9, 2014 and that my appointment would have to be rescheduled!!! I was of course furious and immediately attempted to call the
service desk at the 1-800 number they left and I was put on hold "due to an unsually high volume of calls" for approx. 45 minutes until the battery on my cell phone died. To add insult to injury I received another voice mail from the
service desk at approx. 830 AM
5, 2014 infroming me that the parts to my alarm system "miraculously" (my word) came in and to please give them a call at their 1-800 number and the technician would come out that day to install the part. I attempted to call the
1-800 number provided 3 times that morning and each time I was placed on hold yet again "due to an unusually high volume of calls" for anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes each time. I was only able to speak to a human being once and after I explained the situation she was going to transfer me to "the correct department" and when she did of course the connection was cut! I mentioned my property is located in a remote area and the cell phone service is spotty at best and the phone signal is very weak, plus there are no telephone or internet lines/service to this property. I returned to my MO residence on
6th and immediately filed another written compliant to
through the "My
" on-line system and in this compliant I asked for a "senior manager to contact me immediately concerning this issue". On
8, 2014 the
service desk called me in an attempt to schedule another appointment to have my equipment repaired. I told the service desk representative I could not schedule an appointment now because the property was located 517 miles from my residence and that I filed an official complaint with
over this issue and was waiting to be contacted by a senior manager. The service desk rep stated she would
oforward my complaint to her manager. On
11, 2014 I received an email from a
Corporate Customer Service Rep and he provided a phone number to contact him. I immediately called him on
11th at the number provided and was sent straight to his voice mail. I left him a voice mail and asked him to contact me at either my home phone or cell phone and provided those numbers. I also sent him a written complaint via email outlining the issue. I recieved no reply from him and on
16th I emailed him again. He apologized for not contacting me because he "suddenly fell ill and was not at work." He promised to have a senior manager contact me within 24 hours and to date (
30, 2014) no one from
has contacted me concerning this issue. NOTE: The
technician in TN who originally cancelled the
3rd appointment (I believe fraudently so he could go on 4th of
holiday early) has called me directly several times at my home to reschedule the appointment he cancelled, but I refuse to take his calls and will only speak to someone in authority at
. The bottom-line is my alarm system system, which I paid $1400 for and am making $45.42 monthly payments is defective and customer service at
is "non-existent"!!

He came up with a system that would tie in all the old sensors to a new control box and replace a couple non-compatible smoke alarms (see above). Total cost was $420 not including the monitoring. This system also uses and does not require additional hardware for remote internet access. Monthly monitoring which includes remote internet control of the system is $32/month. It is ten dollars/month more if you want all the bells and whistles such as remote control of the house lights, thermostat, exit door locks or video monitoring and of course you would have to buy a new thermostat, light controls, camera and so on. We chose not to get the extras. Although ADT could also take over the system, to replicate what Vintage could do would cost over $500 up front, require an additional piece of hardware for internet access (ADT Plus), and would cost $54.99/month to monitor ($48.99 without internet access).

was consistent with its great reviews on Angie's List and other reviewing sources (which I had read before selecting an alarm company--had heard horror stories about misleading promotions and bad service provided by some competing alarm companies). Since I was dealing with so much at the time, I was willing to pay a bit more to have good customer service and it was SO WORTH IT. The customer service reps were knowledgeable and courteous--generally available immediately on the call, and if they were tied up, the recorded message allows you to leave a call-back. They ALWAYS have called back within 5 minutes and generally less time than that. The ability to monitor the house via the internet was a great help when preparing my parents' vacant home for sale and selling it from far away. I could assign temporary entry codes to different service providers and cancel as soon as they were done with the work. Also, I could monitor to see whether a contractor actually came when they said they would and how much time they spent at the house. There was also the piece of mind in knowing that criminals were less likely to pick my house for their activities, given the posted security sign and the system. Finally, the company helped with the transfer to a new buyer. A really really good experience.

has messed up my bill every single billing cycle since I have been with this company (~1 year). Every 3 months, I have to call them to inquire about my bill because every billing cycle charge has been different since my alarm system was installed. I have never been billed the same amount twice (even though my services with them have never changed) - whether its an improper double charge, incorrect prorating, or an increase in the yearly fees without any notice whatsoever - my bill is always screwed up. Either they charge the wrong amount, or they don't charge enough and I have to chase them to charge the correct amount, because they deemed me "late on my payment" even though they have my automatic debit set up and charged an amount, just not the full amount due. The customer service is absolutely horrible!! And when I have attempted to contact them either to speak to someone about my bill inconsistancies or speak to someone about ending my contract, I have to call multiple times because no one ever answers the phone when you need customer service. Horrible company!!
