I was very happy with the work of
Hixson Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
and his team. They were not the cheapest of the quotes I received, but they offered a solution that seemed to offer a longer-term solution, rather than put a band-aid on the problem.

called every evening with an update on the progress, and the work crew was always hard at work. I'll tell you working under a house in 90+ degree heat all day does not sound like fun too me, but these people took their work seriously! The were efficient, courteous and didn't seem to take any shortcuts.
Overall very pleased with the results. The house is definitely in better shape, and the parts of the house that felt "trampoline like" are more solid than ever! I also don't have to use shims anymore to keep my furniture from leaning! Sweet!

So while I am on the beach other work was being done on the house. The technician then says that the back sump pump is not working. I said OK, but what about the front, there appears to be some leaking. He said it looks like there is some leaking in the front corner near the front sump pump. He says that the rear sump pump needs to be replaced. I asked how much he said $600.00. I told him that I had just had the front sump replaced the week before for $425 off of an Angie List deal. He said since I have to charge you $200 for a service call, the sump pump would be the same price if you minus the service call. I said...wait I have a lifetime warranty on the back waterproofing and was looking for an estimate on the front. He said the warranty is not applicable to the sump pump and that the service call was $200. Since rain was expected, I had him replace the back sump pump and then asked for a written estimate for the front.
Several days later I get the written estimate via e-mail. I asked several questions. 1) when could the work be done 2) why was the proposed waterproofing solution the best solution to the problem (an Angies list recommended question), 3) why did the solution include installation of 16 ft of waterguard along a wall that connects to the adjacent townhouse and 4) why did the solution include a 16 ft of a vapor lock system that connected to the wall that connects to the adjacent townhouse for 16 ft. At no time was there any water entering the basement through the side wall, and I can understand a vapor lock system and the water guard for the front and maybe a small part of the side wall, but why for a wall that on the other side is a townhouse basement of the house next door. I asked these questions starting on Saturday. I followed up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. In addition, there were also other charges such as a transportation fee of $500.00 (which I was told was added to all quotes for Maryland residents) and nearly $2,000 for a dehumifier, even though sitting right next to the sump pump was a 90 pt whole house dehumidifier. The only response I ever got to any of these e-mails was that they would have to consult the technician.
Not clear to me why the technician would need to be consulted when someone else is providing the quote. Since I have not gotten a response to these relatively easy questions to answer, I have no choice to assume that the quote was massively inflated and that the 16 ft added to the side wall was just a way to increase the costs of the job. You shouldn't have to repeadetly write/call a company over an over again to get answers to questions.

arrived and first looked under the house to examine the concrete support posts. He said they were in very good shape. He then went into the house itself and, using his instrument for determining the level of the house, said that the house was pretty much on level and that no action was necessary. He knew I was fixing up the house and offered some suggestions. There was no charge for his time. I was really quite impressed: he was professional, punctual, courteous and helpful. He was also very honest. I am sure he could have sold me a job under some pretext, but he didn't. Based on my interaction yesterday I would certainly use his company if I needed their services and would recommend him without reservation. Definitely deserves an AAA rating.

came out & did an interior/exterior inspection of my older home built in 1950. We just purchased it last month & the inspection report mentioned the foundation was holding but it should be monitored for any movement. We have several small cracks in the house and I wanted to see if these were structural or cosmetic only. The previous owners had installed soaker hoses along the perimeter of the house and I was curious if this was a good idea or not. He came by and measured from one end of the house to the other, using a tool he pushed along the floor.
I was pleasantly surprised when he said the floors were fairly level throughout except the kitchen corner which I figured anyway. He said he found no evidence of doors sticking or other common symptoms of foundation issues. He also mentioned not to water the foundation in the back, since the only place the hose can go is right up against the foundation due to the sidewalk along that side of the house. You want the hose around 12-18 inches away from the foundation if you soak it; if it's too close it will do more harm than good.
He left me his card and said to call him if I notice any noticeable shifting or other issues. Didn't charge me a cent..This is a very trustworthy company and I would not hesitate to call them again if we experience any foundation problems in the future.

This was a fairly complex project with very difficult challenges that had to be assessed and surmounted.

is a very conscientious and careful person who has very good resources, both in terms of equipment and experience, to bring to bear on solving the problems. He was open to my concerns and ideas throughout the project and was willing to talk through options. He was flexible and adjusted his schedule as needed. The job was completed with quality and timeliness at a competitive cost.

This service provider really lives up to the name Honesty Foundation. He explained why he felt the foundation did not need any repair and made some recommendations. I learned a lot and I suspect he saved me thousands of dollars.

The office responded promptly and was able to schedule a visit quickly, at a time convenient for me. A slight INconvenience was the representative showing up 1-1/2 hrs. early, with no advance phone call.
As for the "15-point Inspection:" Two of the points didn't apply to us (they related to crawl spaces). Of the remaining 13 "points", he looked at what I showed him in the basement (sites of occasional leakage problems) , made a diagnosis (which sounded reasonable), suggested two ways to deal with it (a first-try, and if that failed, a more complete and costly solution). He confined his attention to only 1/2 of our basement (where I

him), and showed no interest in the other half. I estimate that he failed to perform 10 of the 15 "points."
He promised to email me a recommendation and costs for the two approaches to remediation. 2-1/2 weeks later, I'm still waiting.
I don't know whether these guys are good or not, but they are certainly not at the top of my list of people to call for this matter.

Great! The crew arrived when they said they would. The estimated a 3 day job however it only took 2 days. They were very professional and very thorough. The foreman was sure to explain all that was done and answer any questions I had. They left no mess behind, this is a problem I've had with other service providers, and even spread the extra dirt in the place I requested. I would gladly recommend Advocate to people I know that are in need of foundation repair.
