"We were very impressed with their woodwork and painting; they were able to successfully match the existing paint. They were punctual, and they did a good job. We" were especially grateful because they found a bee-hive near the area they were working. They took care of this issue on their own so they could continue their work. Great initiative! We were also very happy that
Improvement honored their price for their Daily Deal even though their price had gone up in between the time we ordered the deal and when they performed the work. We appreciated this good customer service.

"They worked with us to find a time to come quote the project that didn't require us taking off work, which was nice. Then they negotiated the price to something" that was within our budget and completed the project the following week. The stairs look really nice and I was happy with how seriously they took the process even though it wasn't a huge job. I would recommend or use them again in the future.

Finish carpenters can design, build and install woodwork structures in your house to enhance the quality and adorn the attractive appearance of your home. There carpenters can complete several different jobs for new homes or remodeling of an existing house.

Baseboards and molding

Baseboards and molding serve a practical function -- covering up the space where walls and floors join, as well as protecting the wall from scuffs and dents. But they also provide a decorating opportunity.

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

?

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

I bought his Angie's List Deal for 3 hours of carpentry work. He showed up about 5 minutes early and quickly got to work. He removed some crown molding, then put some up. He was efficient, and it was obvious that he had done this type of work for a long time. Friendly and professional, i'd definitely use him again for any molding or woodworking needs.

We will begin by addressing each point of your summary:
Your first point charges us $1300.00 for plumbing for and
installing the new air bath tub. This
tub was incorrectly installed. You took
the installation directions to your home and did not bring them when you first attempted
the install. We sent a reminder text to
you to bring the directions back to our house so you could correctly install
the tub on your second attempt. While
you did return our installation booklet, you did not follow it or the online
install directions my husband found for you on our computer. The tub is still not correctly installed and
the warranty is invalidated by your inability to install according to the
manufacturer. We have contacted the manufacturer of
the tub. We have also discovered fine
scratches over a great deal of the tub.
This could have occurred when you placed cinder blocks in the tub and
also because you did very little to protect the tub’s surface. You also did not properly install the drain
and stopper. You used silicone instead of plumber’s putty. It is the wrong material plus you left a wide,
unsightly ring (it is yellowish with debris stuck in it) around the drain. We are requesting a $1000.00
refund. This number may increase as we are not yet able to test to see if you
caused actual damage to the tub’s ability to function. * Recent addition: last night water poured from the ceiling below the tub. It reveled more plumbing mistakes made by Mr.
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
. The amount he charged was for a completed install.
You next charge us $1725 for tiling and grouting above the
tub, installing a knee wall, tiling, and installing underlayment to the
ceiling. Because of your poor quality
of work, your knee wall had to be built 3 times. The first time the wall was built 8 in.
higher that the tub. The second time the wall was built so that the tile would
not lie under the drop in tub. The third
time it is still not correct because according to the tub manufacturer’s
directions the surround was to be built first and after its completion the tub
was to be installed. It is a drop in
style tub. You cemented down the tub then attempted to build the surround. Your surround is also not correct because it
does not surround the tub. The tub was cemented into place against the
wall. No underlayment was required
since you already installed cement board around the tub since there is no
shower in that area. It appears that this has been done to allow for an
additional charge. To date the tile is not complete in this area and no tile
was laid by you on the surround. You did
not grout anything either. It would have
been impossible for you to complete what you claim to have done since several
additional tile orders had to be placed after you we asked not to return to our
home. We are requesting you refund $1500.00 of this charge.
Thirdly you charged us $200.00 to plumb a new shower valve
and drain. The work as you did it would
not allow for a functioning shower. You
glued a drain pipe almost a foot too long in place. The pipe should never be glued into place in
such condition. It is to be properly cut
to the appropriate length later in the install process before it is attached. You told us at the time of the estimate that
you would be bringing in a plumber and electrician but tried to do this work
yourself. We have asked several times if you are a licensed plumber or
electrician. To date, you have not
responded. It was very difficult and time consuming to
have this situation corrected so we are requesting you refund the $200.
After that you charged us $800 to install “underlayment and
tile surround for
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
shower.” First of
all you did not
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
the backerboard so the wall was not plum. Also because you incorrectly glued the
protruding drainpipe into place, the shower floor could not be tiled Underlayment for the shower floor was purchased
on December 29, 2014 which is a week after you were asked not to return to the
site. Additional tile had to be ordered
as well. We are requesting $700.00 to be
refunded.
Your fifth point was a charge of $300.00 to “plumb water and
drain lines for floating vanity.” Lines
were already in place and you installed the PEX tubing too high. The level at which you installed means the
vanity sits at 40 in. high and the faucet (purchased 10/31/14 and shown to you
at the start of the job) if installed will not allow the medicine cabinet door
to open. We are required to have the
wall opened and the area re-plumbed to correct your mistake. $300.00 needs to be refunded to
cover that expense.
Next you charged us $100.00 to install a new toilet in a
downstairs bathroom. The toilet was
installed 12/9/14, leaked that night then you reinstalled it the next day. It has been leaking again. You have been
contacted several times to send a plumber to install it for the third time but
to date have ignored those requests .
You will need to refund the
$100.00.
You charged $1250.00 to “hang and finish new drywall at
non-tile surfaces.” The drywall was not
shimmed and the job was not completed.
The walls still needed to be skimmed and sanded. We have also recently
discovered that the hole you cut in the drywall to allow for the installation
of the medicine cabinet is incorrect. It
is too large by about a half an inch at the bottom and is off by an inch as it
reaches the top. This will need to be
repaired. We have also discovered that
you did not provide framing to support the wall mounted sink (which you saw the
first day) before hanging the drywall. You
will need to refund $500.00 because you did not complete this job and for
repairs.
Your final charge was $800.00 to ‘Repair two vent pipes
broken during the
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
demolition.
Reroute one vent pipe discovered to be in the middle of the room during
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
demolition.” As you saw,
almost all of the demolition work was completed before you gave us an estimate. The tub and separate shower surrounds were removed in May of 2012 so the pipes were exposed at the time of your
estimate. Any costs s to re-plumb should
have been included in the first and third charges on your list with the
exception of the vent pipe no longer contained in the wall. You verbally told us several times that
there would be a $200.00 charge to relocate it.
Therefore you need to refund $600.00.
In addition, you have caused damages to our home. We pointed out to you that our hardwood
floors have been damaged by you and your employees. You provided only two drop cloths (we loaned
you a third to help protect the white carpeting in the bedroom) which did not
come close to covering the length of the floor leading to either the front door
or garage. Both exits were used by your
employees. We pointed this out to you and you said “This is all on me. I’ll
make it right.” You then purchased cardboard and used tape to put it down. You have caused scratches, water
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
, and wear to our hardwood floor. Your tape
discolored and removed the finish where you placed it. We have pictures of where you taped down the
cardboard and after your employees removed the tape, the lines of damage are
clearly visible. We have an estimate of
$500.00 to repair the damage you have caused to our floors. Because they need to be refinished we will
not be able to walk on them for several days.
You will also need to pay $178.78 which is the cost of two night stay at
an area hotel and $52.00 which is the cost of boarding our dog for two nights.
You will also need to reimburse us $14.70 for the cost of
purchasing 14 plastic drop cloths we had to buy the evening of the first day
you worked. You provided only two drop cloths yet you set up saw horses, stored
supplies and equipment and used this equipment in our bedroom. We needed to protect the custom bed and white
carpet. People who have seen our
pictures of how you treated our bedroom are shocked. You did nothing to contain the drywall dust
so it was ground into our floors and covered every inch of the entire main
floor of the house. This was surprising
since we did the demolition work on the bathroom before you even started and
the dust was contained. We even waited
to replace the bathroom window so you could open it to directly put debris out
of it as we did during demolition. You
also left
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
on the bedroom wall and knocked a hole through the bottom of
one of the bedroom walls (under the wall mirror) while working on the
shower. We know you already know this
since we allowed one of your employees to photograph with your camera the
damages you caused. Then there is the
$113.04 restocking fee we had to pay because you said you did not know how to
install the wall mounted faucet for the tub. It was returned to Hajoca on December 15th
and an order for a surface mounted faucet was placed which you said you could
install.
As the bathroom has not yet been completed this list of
damages and the total for refunds may be subject to change. It is shocking to discover and document the
poor quality of work, the damages to our home and the frustration and wasted
time we have spent trying first to work with you then deal with the mess you
have left behind. We are shocked
by your dishonesty and attempts to blame us as are many others in the community. For one thing, charging us (in writing) for
work you did not do is fraud.
We are giving the opportunity to refund $4258.52 ($5758.52
minus the $1500.00 you claim we still owe you as stated in your “summary of
charges”) by February 10, 2015. Please include the itemized bill we have been
requesting since December 16, 2014 with your correspondence.

Mr.
Fairview Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was always punctual, even given bad weather. He assisted with material choices and adjustments so we could keep the project within budget but still achieve the quality and look we set out to obtain. The crew was neat and clean and every day they cleaned up the work area which was wonderful because it kept the rest of my house clean. We hit a snag with some bad wood inside the wall and unexpected pipes but creative thinking proved a quick solution and workaround, and I wasn't hit up for ridiculous extra charges. I've used this company in the past and will certainly continue to use them in the future. It's nice to know that the quality and craftsmanship has only improved with time.

It was pretty fair. They were at my home for 2 days. They were looking at fascia and soffit boards. They sent 2 techs to take care of the problem. The final result turned out fine. I had them back out to paint the exterior of the house, and replace the siding on the chimney too.

We needed to remodel our 80's looking bathroom. Being in a craftsman house the original bathroom was narrow.

our contractor was able to figure out how to make it bigger without impacting other rooms. He had great suggestions along the way and has a great attention to detail. Everything was finished beautifully, cleanly and on budget. We loved his work on our bathroom so much that we found other projects around our house for him and extended the job.
