"Everyone showed up on schedule from the measuring for the new doors to the week of rebuilding/refacing the kitchen. I trusted their design sense and help for the" layout and changes.
went the extra mile to make sure everything was done correctly from rebuilding the sink cabinet, to perfectly cut joints on the moulding. The craftsmanship is superb! We love the work they did! They are also really terrific people to work with!

"Door and drawer fronts had to be reordered, either they did not fit properly or were the wrong design. Forgot glass inserts for doors and after quite a while called" to say they had been broken in transport. Installed incorrect hinges. Calls to
went unanswered, only after constant calling and texting did I get a response. Appointments to correct mistakes were cancelled. When I finally received a call back
would offer many excuses, (it's in the shop, being painted, didn't arrive). I made the mistake of paying in full at the end of the main installation before mistakes were corrected. Once he had my final check bad service only became worse. Soft close drawers are slowly one by one becoming nonfunctional. Spaces between doors are quite wide. He lost the baseboard molding.
said that he usually didn't do that type of work but he would replace it but brought the wrong molding. Finally, after almost two years (February, 2013 - January, 2015) of dealing with this, I just gave up and will have it finished myself

Not really.  If the contractor is very careful and you are really lucky he might be able to pull them out and then reinstall them after the new cabinets are installed.  A lot of this will have to do with how well the counters were installed in the first place.  Also, the existing countertops may not line up with the new cabinets exactly in some areas as well as they do now.  The better option is to have the cabinets refaced, leaving the boxes and tops in place.  Unlless you have deteriorating particle board cabinets you should be able to get a carpenter to do this.  If you decide to remove the countertops and install new cabinets factor in new tops and be pleasantly surprised if they can be reinstalled afterall.  Realize you probably won't find a contractor willing to gurantee not damaging the tops.  If you do, dig in and research him well.  He likely doesn't have enough experience.

IF dirty enough to make for a musty odor, then paint won't stick to them properly anyway. Paint is not your solution - you probably need a Deep Cleaning. Try to pin down what types of smell it is - if damp, mildewy; rotten food; or musty fabric - will help guide you to the source maybe. Another thing to do is keep all doors closed for a full day when outside temp is such that furnace and A/C can be turned off - then walk around the house, sniffing - preferably with 2 people - and see if one room is the major contributor. I have played this game, and found all the following as sources of musty smells: 1) linen in a closet without ventilation going slightly mildewy 2) water leak in walls or floors enough to cause mold but not drywall staining or visible water 3) carpets needing cleaning 4) water leak in bath or kitchen leaking under floor, causing mold there which is not pronounced in smell because under the flooring 5) attic mildew/mold from leaks or moisture condensation on insulation/wood 6) moldy plants outside - left in garden/flower bed in fall, so rotted in winter/spring 7) clothes in closets touching outside wall, so in very cold weather acted as insulator and let freezing front come to inside of wall, causing frost and moisture to buildup there from the inside moisture, eventually causing mildew/mold (same process as condensation/ice on inside of windows with curtains over them) 8) failure to clean behind kitchen appliances and under sink, or under washer/dryer/dishwasher at least when repaired or changed out 9) heavy lint accumulation in bathroom fan going mildewy 10) grease trap in kitchen exhaust fan never cleaned 11) washing machine going moldy - run a cycle of towels or such with bleach and Borax 12) the number one cause I have found - clothes stacked in closets or hope chests or such for decades get very musty even if clean and ventilated

As long as the counter is big enough Corian is one of the easier ones to work with. Since it does not have the ground or crushed stone that some of the other material have you can work with normal woodworking tools. A saw with a fine tooth carbide blade and a professional grade router with the proper shaped carbde bit can be used if the edge needs finishing. A belt sander helps on cuts also. The only problem you might have is if you need the joint kits for seaming as I dont think you can buy them.

When Corian first came out I could buy the slabs and fabricate my own tops and then Dupont went to a certified distributor system and would no longer sell to those of us that had been working with it for years. I will admit that they did have reasons for this as not all that were working with the product were doing it right.

It was an excellent experience. They did a wonderful job. They were a few things that they wanted to re do. I stated I didn't notice it. The owner said he noticed, they corrected it. They provided very high quality work.

I would not ask for R & R CABINETS ever again. They came in and did a very, very, I would put them with the better business bureau. I don't think they know what they are doing. My cabinets, on the outside, they are supposed to be a smooth texture cabinet and it's not in places and also too they pieced the cabinets, it's been a year since they done it and the screws are coming out. They put pieces of board, I've never seen anything like it, to screw into the cabinet to hold the door. The doors are falling off, them pieces of wood is coming out and everything. And they should be reported. I could have had new cabinets put in for that amount.
When they came to put on the knobs, I got new knobs and when they went to put them on, the knobs don't even match up with the doors. You know how when the doors come together you have one on each side and they'll close in the middle. I've got one's higher than the other in several places.
I wouldn't suggest them to nobody.

This company was easy to talk with, they understood what I needed. They even painted the doors exactly how we wanted. The doors were absolutely perfect and they look great. They even shipped them really well, making it nearly impossible for them to get damaged in the process.

They did high quality work at a reasonable price. They returned back to fix a minor repair that wasn’t their fault at no cost. They were great to work with.

Ashland City Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
and Bill did an excellent job with applying lacquer and primer as well as clear coat is some areas during our home remodel. As other reviewers have mentioned,
Ashland City Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
is meticulous and provides a very high quality to his work. He was on time and very professional with his work schedule and his estimate in terms of days for completion was fairly accurate. In terms of pricing, I would say it is fair for the services provided. He is upfront when he says that you could find cheaper options out there if you simply want to repaint. His application of lacquer/stain is much higher quality and as a result his prices in general are higher than perhaps what a basic painter may quote.
Overall, I would definitely recommend
Ashland City Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
to anyone looking at hiring a quality finisher for any home project they might have. He did return for some minor touch ups which was also greatly appreciated. It is also worth keeping in mind that sometimes the amount of work changes depending on the amount of labor needed to prep the wood adequately. As a result, he is honest about extra charges that may be added at the end of the project. In my case, he showed us the extra labor involved as the project progressed and in the end an additional fee of $450 was tacked onto the previously agreed upon price. That was perhaps the only criticism I would have and it is no fault of
Ashland City Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
as he was honest about these potential additional fees, but in the end it was a significant added expense which we did not necessarily account for in our budget.
He did also spray a large photo frame for us as well which was very much appreciated.
I would definitely recommend him (and Bill) to anyone looking for a professional re-finisher who provides a high quality to his work.

It couldn't have gone any smoother.
Ashland City Cabinet Refacers Provider Name Locked
did an excellent job of communicating every aspect of the work, so there were no surprises. He was punctual and very focused on his work the entire time. He made every effort to keep the dust at a minimum, and cleaned up the work area at the end of each day. His quality of work is exceptional....the cabinets are beautiful and we get many compliments about them. He was very willing to return at a later date to add some trim and make some minor adjustments that were a result of the countertop and appliances being installed. His price was almost identical to another local provider; his price was considerably less (about $10,000) than a major corporation that we received a quote from. His payment schedule was fair and reasonable.

The work was indifferently good. There were problems, which I pointed out but which they never fixed.

I had made a deposit on some other work to be done, but after this experience, I cancelled it and asked for the return of my deposit. They only returned part of it. Repeated calls to them were responded to by saying they would look into it and get back to me. Needless to say, they never did.

Were it not for the fact that I was in the process of moving out of state when this happened, I would have pursued legal action against them.

These people are bad news. Stay away from them.
