"The work product is excellent. It is impossible to tell that the cabinets were refaced. They matched new cabinets where needed and matched refrigerator and dishwasher" facing for an incredible look. They rearranged existing island cabinets to make it larger and added storage spaces per my request. They suggested a granite countertop company whose price was well below any we had looked at ourselves and coordinated the installation. The plumber they recommended was very affordable. They provided a lot of little extras without any change in the quoted price. They stood behind their product when one drawer front was defective. They are very personable. We agreed to let them do our work between other jobs so that we would get it done sooner which
to what felt like delays but it really couldn't be helped. We got an amazing new kitchen for only $17,000 (not including appliances). They installed our built-in appliances for no additional cost. They helped to move our old refrigerator into the pantry which required removing and replacing the trim - again at no extra cost. They did whatever was necessary to make sure we got a great job and were happy.

Not really.  If the contractor is very careful and you are really lucky he might be able to pull them out and then reinstall them after the new cabinets are installed.  A lot of this will have to do with how well the counters were installed in the first place.  Also, the existing countertops may not line up with the new cabinets exactly in some areas as well as they do now.  The better option is to have the cabinets refaced, leaving the boxes and tops in place.  Unlless you have deteriorating particle board cabinets you should be able to get a carpenter to do this.  If you decide to remove the countertops and install new cabinets factor in new tops and be pleasantly surprised if they can be reinstalled afterall.  Realize you probably won't find a contractor willing to gurantee not damaging the tops.  If you do, dig in and research him well.  He likely doesn't have enough experience.

IF dirty enough to make for a musty odor, then paint won't stick to them properly anyway. Paint is not your solution - you probably need a Deep Cleaning. Try to pin down what types of smell it is - if damp, mildewy; rotten food; or musty fabric - will help guide you to the source maybe. Another thing to do is keep all doors closed for a full day when outside temp is such that furnace and A/C can be turned off - then walk around the house, sniffing - preferably with 2 people - and see if one room is the major contributor. I have played this game, and found all the following as sources of musty smells: 1) linen in a closet without ventilation going slightly mildewy 2) water leak in walls or floors enough to cause mold but not drywall staining or visible water 3) carpets needing cleaning 4) water leak in bath or kitchen leaking under floor, causing mold there which is not pronounced in smell because under the flooring 5) attic mildew/mold from leaks or moisture condensation on insulation/wood 6) moldy plants outside - left in garden/flower bed in fall, so rotted in winter/spring 7) clothes in closets touching outside wall, so in very cold weather acted as insulator and let freezing front come to inside of wall, causing frost and moisture to buildup there from the inside moisture, eventually causing mildew/mold (same process as condensation/ice on inside of windows with curtains over them) 8) failure to clean behind kitchen appliances and under sink, or under washer/dryer/dishwasher at least when repaired or changed out 9) heavy lint accumulation in bathroom fan going mildewy 10) grease trap in kitchen exhaust fan never cleaned 11) washing machine going moldy - run a cycle of towels or such with bleach and Borax 12) the number one cause I have found - clothes stacked in closets or hope chests or such for decades get very musty even if clean and ventilated

As long as the counter is big enough Corian is one of the easier ones to work with. Since it does not have the ground or crushed stone that some of the other material have you can work with normal woodworking tools. A saw with a fine tooth carbide blade and a professional grade router with the proper shaped carbde bit can be used if the edge needs finishing. A belt sander helps on cuts also. The only problem you might have is if you need the joint kits for seaming as I dont think you can buy them.

When Corian first came out I could buy the slabs and fabricate my own tops and then Dupont went to a certified distributor system and would no longer sell to those of us that had been working with it for years. I will admit that they did have reasons for this as not all that were working with the product were doing it right.

Custom Cabinet Making reviews in Armour

My project was a DIY bathroom remodel.
Armour Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
Cabinets was a great asset. I initially went to their location where
Armour Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
explained the ins and outs of cabinet construction, the different options and styles. She worked up a professional quote along with dimensional drawings and a computer rendition of what it would look like. Everything took place in a timely manner without any surprises. The installation was flawless. The bathroom is beautiful. I'm 100% happy.

I worked with Will at
Armour Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
and he was great! He designed the perfect bathroom for me after listening to my needs and requests. He included a ton of cabinets and a big closet which is just what I wanted. It turned out beautiful! Will was so attentive and when the contractor installed some of the cabinets. incorrectly I called him and he came out right away and had them take out and reset the cabinets then he reordered the new trim to replace what was done incorrectly. I am so pleased with the way this project turned out and I plan to use them again for my next project, a kitchen redo!

was excellent. He was very responsive to my initial inquiry and suggestions, punctual, and offered good ideas and solutions to our needs. I can't say enough about his professionalism and expertise with our wood

project. It wasn't easy since we asked him to match the profile of existing cabinet doors, trim and stain already in place on the other side of the room. It is impossible to tell that what he did wasn't original to the very large built-in already in place. I would say he is a perfectionist when it comes to detail, materials used, and quality work.
I would definitely recommend him and hire him again!

He is very good. He will give us a decent quote. He is very reasonable. He just does excellent work. The pricing is very reasonable. I would absolutely use him again in the future. He is the only one I would call.

Came to our home to measure, meet with us, and find out exactly what we wanted for our long awaited kitchen remodel. Promptly designed a kitchen cabinet layout for us and provided a reasonable quote for the work to be done. Gave trade referrals for other vendors who could help us with other aspects of our project and keep us on our timeline. Built a special cabinet to accommodate the farmhouse sink we had already purchased, mistakenly believing that it was an under-mount sink and kept us from making it into a costly error. Kept our remodel on budget and delivered the cabinets for installation on time. Offered guidance and creative ideas to make the most out of our budget and helped us to create a spectacular kitchen!

Our kitchen is quite complicated and I was wondering how they would be able to take accurate measurements. Skip

After the granite was selected,

About a week later Ed and

eye on fit and craftsmanship. As I said, it was a complicated geometry and the installation was PERFECT! There were five major joints and three sinks, two of which were of non-standard shapes. It was a pleasure to watch these guys work!
A few days before the granite installation

is a pleasure to work with and he personally came out to the house to check on the job several times. This is the third kitchen that

I strongly recommend

for any kitchen installation or remodel. Their prices are excellent and their work is fantastic!

Overall, the project went very smoothly.
Armour Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
kept us up to date on future work to be done and whether schedule changes had to be made. He also was available for consultation and made several valuable suggestions as to what should be done when questions arose. One of those was the substitution of prefabricated concrete walls for the basement as opposed to poured concrete walls. That switch saved us time and money.

were very open to questions and suggestions.
The work went longer than the original estimate but that was our fault. We asked for a couple of changes midway through the project. The materials for the changes had a long lead time so that held up the project for about a month.
We're very happy with the end result. we've never had any work of this scale done before and were pleasantly surprised by how well everything went.
