"I highly recommend
. After dealing with a number of small contractors over the years to do various odd jobs, it was like a breath of fresh" air from start to finish with these guys. They earned my trust and confidence each in each step of the process. 1. When I called they actually answered the phone. (As dumb as that sounds, I found many do not and several don't even bother calling back,) 2.
, the owner, spoke with me himself and was extremely professional, guided me through the process and the pricing upfront. He answered all my questions fully and made me feel quite confident that I had made the right decision calling his company. (Most others that I spoke with either seemed bothered that I had called or came across as sleazy con-men, and none gave up front pricing.) 3. The
arrived on time and was ready to begin work right away. (I can tell you horror stories about other contractors who could not even do this
task.) 4. The
was polite. Yes POLITE!!! 5. The
had all the correct tools. (My lending toolbox stayed in the
of the car.) 6. The
confirmed the scope of the work, inspected the work area, confirmed the estimated time and once again made sure that I was aware of the pricing up front. 7.The
knew what to do and did it effectively and efficiently. It was really fun just watching him knock it out, almost like it was choreographed. They say that pros make it look easy, this guy made it look dead
. (I know from personal experience it was not easy at all when you have a steep roof, that's why I hired them in the first place, that and I am getting old.) 8. He would have cleaned up at the end but I stopped him as he had done quite enough on such a hot day and because I figured that I could do the cleaning myself.) 9. When he completed the work he thanked me for the opportunity to work on my project and said that he would be happy to assist me in any future projects. 10. The company sent me my receipt by email and thanked me for my business. Honest, friendly, polite, professional, experienced, knowledgeable, trustworthy, hard working, and not over priced. Yup! I recommend them.

"I had made it clear that the installation of the laminate wood flooring had to be on schedule because a closet design company was installing new closets the next" day.
was supposed to be there by 8:30 in the morning. When they did not arrive by 9:00, I called the shop, only to find out that the guy who was supposed to show did not, and they pulled another installer off another job in order to get the job done that day. He arrived around noon, and did not complete the job until 8:30 that night. While I am appreciative of them getting the job done, I ended up helping clean up the mess in order for them to get done and protect the flooring that was laid down. The installer was not able to put the closet doors back because he didn't have the right shims and it was too late to get them that night. He came back a couple days later and completed the job. When it came to settling up with
on the cost, they quoted me a price for the carpet that was not originally quoted. I had been given a written contract on the cost of the laminate wood flooring, but the area rug cost was added a couple days later and the quote was given to me over the phone. The original quote that was given me by
was $514.47, and I repeated this price back to him to make sure I heard correctly. When I called to pay the remainder of the bill after the installation,
insisted that he never gave me that quote, and that I owed $580 for the area rug. I ended up paying the $580, because I had nothing but his word on the $514.47. How I would have come up with a number like that out of the blue is beyond me, but I will not do business with them again.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Flooring reviews in Williamston

Do not use this company for your floors. Our biggest mistake was going on vacation while Bill and his team did the work. We left on Monday and came back on Friday believing the floors would be finished. They were not. Plastic was still hanging on everything and nothing had been cleaned. As we inspected the work, we realized that many of things we had asked to be done had not been completed. None of the holes had been filled and the bullnose that was to be replaced was not done well. The miter cut was horrible and the two pieces of wood that came together to form a corner had about a half inch gap between them. The floors were also very rough to the touch and we believe that only two coats of poly were put on the floors when there was supposed to be three. And there were spots on the floor where poly wasn't even applied. They had said they would seal off all rooms but when I went into my bathroom, I found a thick

of dust on everything. My husband also discovered that they had gone into his toolboxes without asking. We told them to call or text us if they needed anything. If they had asked, we would have told them where to find what they were looking for. We called Bill and he seemed surprised we were back. He came over and we showed him the bullnose and he said he could fix the gap with putty. Well, no he can't, the gap was way to big and I had a railing company coming out in a couple of days to install a new railing and I knew they were not going to be able to drill into putty. When we told him the floors were too rough he said that was a matter of customer preference and now that he knew he would fix them. Now I know people sometimes don't want their floors to be completely smooth because of slipping issues, but these floors were like sandpaper. He also swore that there were three layers of poly on the floor but that he would put another one on anyway. When we told him that his guys went through my husband's toolboxes, Bill's response was "Well yeah they were looking for a screwdriver." That wasn't the answer I was looking for. He must of thought about what he said because later he apologized and said they shouldn't have done that. We also found soda cans

behind things in the basement a couple of days later. Again, they could have just asked. The fact that they just went through my things and took what they wanted (also noticed our pushbroom was missing - they must have used it to clean up the sawdust when they were cutting the bullnose and put it in their truck with their other tools by mistake) makes me feel very uneasy. Bill got the rest of his team back to our house and for the next five hours my husband watched as they redid the floors. We had them resand everything, fix the bullnose, and put another

of poly on. They had to take out the bullnose along the whole landing and redo it so it was done correctly. At first Bill said he was going to have to come back to do the bullnose but we told him that it needed to be fixed because we had a railing company coming out in a week. Reluctantly, he sent one of his team to get the wood to finish it. The work they did that day was okay, but not great. Bill came back a few days later to put another coat of poly on the bullnose. My husband asked if he was putting the satin finish on because it looked like a semigloss. Bill assured him it was satin. But when I came home five hours later the bullnose looked like it was still wet. Well it wasn't wet, Bill applied a semigloss to the bullnose. My husband called him to tell him he put the wrong finish on and he said he would come over and fix it. I was done at that point with him fixing things so we told him just to drop off the poly and we would finish the project. And after all that, the bullnose wasn't even installed right. When the railing guys tried to install the posts, the bullnose came apart. They had to reinstall the bullnose so the posts and spindles wouldn't fall over. The whole experience with
Williamston Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very disappointing. Maybe if we had stayed and had been constantly watching them, the job would have turned out better. But they're professionals. We shouldn't have had to that. If you need your floors refinished, I strongly suggest you look for another company.

On time, except for one day when worker was sick. Thoroughly professional. Laid paper to protect hardwood floors and carpets. Cleaned thoroughly. Only slight quibble was a minor leak in reinstalling washing machine water pipe.

My husband and I wanted laminate tile for our kitchen, laminate wood for our living room and dining room, and carpet for a hallway and stairs. We got estimates from the big box stores, a small local store, an independent contractor, and

My wife and I had FCI replace the flooring in most of our house. There were no salesmanship gimmicks and the customer service was impeccable. From the beginning we were presented with a choice of nice products and recommendations and they were very patient with us. They even ordered an entire box of kitchen flooring for us so we could sample the product over a wider area of the floor so we could be sure its what we wanted. The installation was trouble-free and efficiently done and the clean-up was done to completion. The workmanship was top-notch and done with care. Although we didnt have time to be on site because of our busy schedules they were willing to work with us entirely over the phone and followed up every day to give us updates and ensure our satisfaction. We have had other flooring installations but this was by far the best experience we've had.

and his team were very professional and I was most impressed that they were able to take up the flooring and reinstall without much damage and salvaging the original material. They were on time and were meticulous with their work. Definitely will use in the future.
