Handyman Reviews in Simpsonville

, was great. Timely, let me know and ask my opinion on every step or obstacle that came. He assumed nothing. He worked with me about scheduling time. It was a pleasure to have him do the work.
- david G.

was quick to come out and provide a quote to do both jobs. We found his quote very reasonable so we accepted the estimate and discussed a start date.
was upfront about the timing of these jobs as staining a deck in the winter is very difficult to do because the temps should be above 50 degrees overnight for several consecutive days as well as dry for consecutive days. I had no problem with the expected timing/delays and was appreciative that he explained this and didn't want to rush just to get a job done. For the first job,
completed the interior stone accent wall quickly in December and we have had nothing but compliments on this new addition. As for the second job of staining the deck, that job was recently completed at the end of April but that was no fault of
. As we know, the temperatures were lower this Winter and we received snow on several occasions making it basically impossible to start this job any sooner than he did. Sure I would have loved for this to have been done sooner but the weather just didn't allow for that to happen.
clearly understood the manufacturers specifications as to how the stain should be applied and he explained that rushing the job would sacrifice the quality of his work, something he didn't want to do and I didn't want him to do either. In the end, it was wise to wait and the deck looks great. I read some of the other reviews on here and all i can say is that i never had any communication issues with
(and there were a lot of emails and texts) and I felt he was very honest with me through the entire process.

Paint job was OK but bleed through.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
guarantees his work for 5 years but try to get him back after being paid is almost impossible. I have been trying to get
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
to touch-up and paint the missed areas for over 1-1/4 years without success.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
informed me the work will be completed the next time he is in the area.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
has been at a couple of neighbors homes across the street 4 times. Every time I approached
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
to complete the job he told me he is too busy. I been calling
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
and leaving messages but he does not return calls.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
told me numerous times he will arrive at a certain time but fails to arrive or call. What a wasted day. My recommendation is not to use
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
since his warranty is worthless and he does not value other people's time.

I called
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
as I am in need of a bathroom remodel. I was told there was a month or so long wait but they could go ahead and come out for an estimate. I have a list of other projects I also want estimates for. I gave my name and address and we made arrangements via phone for a Thursday evening visit. Thursday came, and no call, and no one showed up. My wife was greatly irritated. We joined Angie's List so as to prevent the sketchiness and unreliability we've experienced in the past with some contractors. Having solid reviews seemed like a wonderful approach to finding a contractor. Not in this case. I told my wife I would give
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
the benefit of the doubt. Everyone gets one strike. Perhaps there was a family emergency. Perhaps for some strange reason, my contact info was lost. I called
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
again. I didn't really receive any kind of apology - rather an overview of how time consuming and difficult their current job was. (As if this were my problem!) Yep - they still have my name and address and once again I had another Thursday night appointment for an estimate. And once again, no phone call, and no one showed up. How hard is it to simply pick up the phone and make a 30 second call? If you're that busy, TELL ME! If you don't want the work, TELL ME! But making appointments and then not calling or showing up is completely unacceptable. This is exactly the type of contractor I do not want. Anyone who would hire someone with these business practices has lost their mind. Caveat Emptor - "Buyer Beware".

We will hire him to do do the job and will hopefully get started soon as our schedule is full but he is being so understanding to our needs. We really like
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
and reccomend his business for someone honest and Friendly.

I never heard back/received a quote. I called him about a week later to inquire about his quote as I felt we would be interested in his services. He indicated at that time that he had sent a quote via email. I had not received a quote and so asked him to please send it again, giving him a different email address. He asked me to text him the email address and he would send it by that same evening. I never received that email, a quote or follow up from him.
I am not sure if he wanted our business or not - but would have appreciated, if that was the case, for him to have said so up front. I subsequently did not attempt to contact him again with the impression that follow through was lacking and if it was this hard in getting a response or follow up prior to receiving services - how much harder might it be if he had performed work for us?
- Becky M.

I would strongly advise against hiring Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
to do any work with plumbing. We just found out that his faulty installation of our two toilets has caused water damage to our home and we now have to do extensive repairs. The plumber who came to repair it said it was probably leaking from the first flush. Please read further for details:
We hired Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
because of the great reviews here on Angie's list. We initially hired him to repair our deck (one side of the railing was not as sturdy as we wanted) and also to add a gate to the top of the stairs so our toddler daughter could play on the deck without falling down the stairs. This was a relatively quick, small job. Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
gave us an estimate, we set up an initial date for the work, had to delay it once or twice due to the weather, but then he came and did the job in a few hours. We were pleased with the work and decided to get a quote from him for installing tile in our two bathrooms and laundry room.
We were not pleased with the overall experience of the tile install. There were many little things that made this an unpleasant experience:
1) Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
did not always show up when he said he would. He also wouldn't return calls promptly so we wouldn't know if he was going to show up and work on our tile that day or not.
2) He (or his assistant) poured grout down in the mulch where our front bushes and pavers are. When we saw it, he said he would clean it up. He never did.
3) Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
would do a little bit of work and then not return for several days to do the next step. It was frustrating to have the house torn up for so long.
4) Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
always had an excuse for not coming or the delay (bad weather, an assistant not showing up, vehicle not working, etc), but for these to come up repeatedly was frustrating.
5) Our contract specified that we would pay half the money at the beginning of the job and the other half on completion. We paid half and then when our job was only 3/4 of the way finished Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
asked for an advance on some of the final payment. We were uncomfortable with that, but did go ahead and give him part of the final payment.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
gave a year warranty on his work. When we had cracks in the grout in one bathroom after 8 months and one tile piece broken we called him to ask him to honor his warranty. He promised to call back and arrange a time to repair his faulty work, but never called back. After two more attempts to contact him I gave up, realizing he wasn't going to follow through with that and it was a lost cause.
Obviously after all of that we decided we would not work with Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
or recommend him to anyone, but at least I was relatively pleased with the tile job (except for the cracked grout and single broken tile), but a few weeks ago we discovered that both toilets in our house had been installed incorrectly by Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
and have been slowly leaking for the past two years. We did not discover it until we were recently in our crawl space under the house. We saw a massive water stain surrounding the toilet pipe of one of the toilets. The plumber came and said that both toilets were installed without the proper seals, on one toilet one of the pieces that is supposed to guide the water into the pipe was upside down. Either Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
does not know the basics of toilet installation or he was too lazy to do it correctly. Either way, not someone you want working on plumbing in your home.
On the toilet with the upside down piece, the leak was so bad that the subfloor has started to rot. So we will now have to hire someone to pull up the toilet, pull up the tile around the toilet, replace the subfloor around the tile,
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
some new tile, and replace the toilet. A costly procedure. And because this has been going on for almost two years without our knowledge, our home insurance won't cover the damage because it has been going on too long.
I think Mr.
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
might be able to handle
Simpsonville Handyman Services Provider Name Locked
jobs that don't involve any sort of water work, but I wanted to share our experience and perhaps save someone from incurring damage to their home.

We contacted this provider to perform work at my mother-in-law's home. As listed above, there were many projects which needed to be completed. Each task was handled as a separate project and the work began mid November and all initial projects were completed within a two week time frame. Upon repair of the fascia, it was determined that more work was needed to keep further damage from occurring. Two more projects were identified and the first of these was completed last week (1/8/14). The final project is to be completed when the weather warms, as required due to the nature of the materials needed for said repair.
