"An easy process from start to finish! Their showroom was best we visited (out of 3 in the area), slabs were nicely presented and
was extremely" helpful in our evaluation process.
was very responsive in delivering a quote, making revisions, and coming out to do a template. We wanted to get new countertops in soon, and
and team were able to fit us into their schedule quickly. The installation crew arrived right on time, they were very careful while working in our house, and were extremely professional. They took the time to make sure that the countertops were perfect. We could haven't been more pleased with our experience with
! We went with them because they are the highest rated on Angie's List and they had the slab we wanted at a lower price than other companies in the area. I would highly recommend

"Quoted me one price. Said they would match a quote from local granite installer then upcharged me over $2500 after templating. I had given the copy of the quote" from the local installer who clearly stated that backsplashes were included for free. The quote from this place wanted to charge me $2500 more just for backsplashes and a brace for the bar area. I had to constantly initiate contact to even get them to come out to my house for templating as they were too busy or had just forgot to call me. This lasted for over one month. The owner refused to refund any of my money for an additional 2 weeks while he tried to talk me into paying over one third more money for backslplashes. Finally he returned some of my money after I showed up at the store demanding my money. He only returned a portion of it though. He kept $800 or so because he had come out to template the job already. I plan to take him to small claims court to recoup the rest of my investment.

Angie's Answers

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

Countertop Installation reviews in North Augusta

They were prompt on all of their calls. The price quoted was at the high end, but we appreciated their approach and dedication to the quality of their work.
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
, one of the owners came to our house to give us the initial quote, and while here he suggested we do the pony wall top above the sink, a very good idea.
we awarded them the contract. There was a delay of 10 days between the demolition and the final installation, but we saw their
fabrication plant, and understand the reason for the delay .
The job was completed on schedule and a great job.
After the job was done we wanted someone to come out and

out a small are aof the granite.. It took a few days before they acknowledged and showed up to do the fix.
The end result is a beautiful job well done. Thank you

After first checking two big box stores armed with detailed drawings and dimensions of the
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
being replaced we arrived at
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. The office people seemed much more knowledgeable and helpful than the big box people and the samples to choose from were much more extensive. After seeing nothing that particularly interested us at the big box stores, we quickly found three alternatives that were of interest to us at
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
, and estimates based on our drawing and dimensions were quickly prepared by
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
, who was very pleasant to work with.
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
's prices were significantly less than the big box stores. We took samples home with us and made a selection.. When we returned the samples
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
arranged for someone to come out and make the final measurements on the following Monday (resulted in a small change in the estimated cost) and the
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
were installed by the following Thursday. The people responsible for doing the measurements and later those responsible for installation arrived on time, were friendly and easy to deal with. The installers disconnected and hauled away our old

and sink, and completed the installation of the new in half a day. Our plumber arrived the next day to reconnected the plumbing.

1, 2, 3, 4 DEMOLITION
The demolition of the existing shower, floor, and bathtub surround went well. They were neat and did not leave debris. They did not track a lot of debris through the bedroom or rest of house. They were not too noisy. They cleaned up after themselves daily. They did damaged the towel bar in the bath tub area. We will need to replace that.
The preparation of the plumbing and installation of the shower system went well. We did not get the exact version of the Delta Shower System we had requested. The contractor's supplier could not provide it because the manufacturer discontinued the specific diverter we wanted. The complete system as we requested it was available through several on-line plumbing suppliers with a quick delivery. We told the contractor where it could be obtained. The parts came in piecemeal. Not sure if it was their ordering or the supplier they used. This had a minor impact on the preparation for tiling. Overall good grades for this work. We accepted the shower system as supplied.

Installation of the shower
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
went well. The shower
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
was exactly what we expected.
The niche for the shower alcove was built as we requested it. The contractor made it tall enough to accomodate most brands of shampoo. We will give them good grades for this.

Floor: The preparation of the floor for tiling was adequate. They used a leveling mixture to cover the imperfections in the existing floor. It was put down as the floor tile was laid. We believe it should have been put down on the entire floor so that the surface was uniformly level. Floor tiling was OK, not great. The tiles are not evenly laid and grout lines are not even. I don't believe spacers were used. Tile cutting was not square were it needed to be. There were variations from one
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
to another
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
in the linen closet and around the door jambs. The door jambs were cut too high leaving large gaps that need to be filled. Some jambs were so badly cut they needed to replace the door trim.
Walls and Surround: The overall preparation of the areas to be tiled was not good. The contractor installed backer board in the shower alcove and tub surround. The problem was that the backer board was not thick enough to meet the existing dry wall above the area to be tiled. It was off by 1/4 to 3/8 inches. We pointed this out to the contractor. He said he would add extra
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
to level the area. He only applied the
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
to the area where existing wall board and backer board met. We mentioned this again and told him that the tiles would tilt forward from 1/4 to 3/8 inch at the top. He ignored our comments. The contractor could have added a 1/4" backer board which would have brought the two surfaces much closer together. Had he not already started to tile the walls. This turned out not to be an option.
We had contracted for a row of decorative trim in the shower and tub surround. We provided the decorative tiles. The decorative tiles were thinner than the 12 x 12 and bullnose tiles. The contractor tried twice to
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
the decorative tile without success. The contractor did not mention the problem that we would have with the thinner tile and the backing material on them. The
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
was too thick and the uneveness in the surfaces made it impossible to
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
the tiles correctly. We had to scrap our plans for this. The contractor removed the deocrative tiles and bullnose in the bathtub area. He laid a double
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
of 12 x 12 tiles to correct the deficiency in the wall thickness. The contractor suggested an alternative which was to cut the 12 x 12 tiles in half
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
them for a subway effect. We reluctantly accepted this solution. After this work was done, we found out that there were two decorative tile options that were a companion tiles to our 12 x 12 tile. They could have been used to give us the decorative element we wanted.
The tile work in general was not good. Tiles were cut uneven, varying from 1/4 to nearly a half inch off. In the corners the tiles sometimes touch each at the top (or bottom) and didn't butt well. Because the tiles were individually buttered some jutted out from oneanother. Tiles were put up using spacers and slivers of cardboard. This approach resulted in uneven spacing between rows of tiles.
There was no planning of the tile work. Thus, the tile laying was not uniform from a center line along the back wall. The niche is not square. The upper
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
runs up hill. In some places it appears that chipped tiles were used. Grout work is uneven, with too much in one spot and not enough in another. Tile work on the edges of the tub surround are awful. The contractor should have discussed with us how he was going to approach the treatment of the edges before he started. He used caulking to fill in where grout should have been.

9. Baseboard and Shoe & Finish Work: This was well done. Great miters. Repair of the wall near the shower was awful. The shoe was used to cover up poor cuts in the floor tiles.
10. Door: The Master Bath shower door was supposed to be a semi-frameless pivot pin hinged door. We were told on the day that it was to be installed they couldn't get it. It would be two-three weeks. They suggested we use a bypass sliding glass door, which they could get. We reluctantly agreed to this change. The door we got was a
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
and was good quality. The finish was supposed to be chrome we ended up with a polished aluminum door.
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
does not make chrome. Not what we wanted but we can live with it.
Some final thoughts: The workers were at all times clean and neat. They were pleasant and courteous. The staff complained to the owner we interferred with their work. We don't consider asking questions and pointing out problems, interference. They did ignore some of our suggestions or requests. The job took longer than we expected. The company offered to repair a small area of wall near the shower. They did offer to get us the door we wanted, but suggested it would cost us extra. What is disturbing is that the company president thought this was an acceptible quality of workmanship and did not offer to fix any of the tile problems. He took $100 off the bill because they did not install a grab bar which was part of the contract. We plan to hire another contractor to fix the tiling that we are not happy with.

They're honest and give appropriate estimates. Every time I've worked with them they've shown up on time. Thier work is always exceptional, best in town.

This is the second time we have used
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. Last year they did our kitchen and it turned out so fantastic that we knew we would have them back to do the bathroom. Everything about the process is great.
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
comes out to the house with samples and helps you co-ordinate everything. The crew that came for the bathroom was the same one we had for the kitchen. The guys are so good we requested to have them again for this job. They are prompt, courteous, and trust worthy. Their work ethic is phenomenal. Our bathroom is absolutely beautiful. We cannot say enough good things about it. We are already saving for our next project and Granite Transformation will definitely be the only ones we will trust to do the work.
- Laurie C.

The job went very well. The crew was always on time, did excellent work, and came back quickly to fix a few minor omissions. Their estimates were 25% cheaper then the others I got. The job took 5 hours the first day to remove the old

the island and counter tops. It took two hours the next day to

the back-splash.

We researched several vendors before we decided to go with
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. Marsela was there throughout the entire process from estimate to completion answering our questions and scheduling when they would be at our home. They gave us great advice and were very patient with us as we made our decisions. There was no sales pressure or negative comments or opinions about competitors. We are considering installing hardwoods and
North Augusta Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
will be the first people we will call when we are ready.
- Julian R.

After the man came out and looked at this project, he said it would be over $6,000 for this to be completed. I just felt that this was not the company I wanted to choose to do this work. I decided to cancel this service.
