Business Description: Energy Bell provides Home Energy Audits and Low Cost Solution to all home owners that are looking to save energy, lower bills, enhance air quality, and improve overall home comfort. We pride ourselves on using the latest techniques and procedures to insure we find any and all energy issues for our customers. We are also a local home builder that specializes in building certified Energy Star and Green building practices. Energy Bell's parent company is JBell Homes (www.jbellhomes.net). Energy Bell is the expert in energy conservation and energy efficiency. An energy auditor will assess how much energy your home uses and conclude with some measures you may need to take to improve its energy efficiency. Your home energy audit will show exactly where your home is wasting energy. Diagnosis by the auditor can be done effectively in newly built homes or older homes and will most likely give you a few simple repair ideas that can be done immediately. Energy Bell includes a look at your heating and cooling systems, as well as water heating and electricity in their audit. The entire perimeter of your homes interior will be inspected from floor to ceiling and will include doors and windows. Areas where pipes come into the home from outside or where you have vents from your clothes dryer, stove or fireplace are often problem areas. Energy Bell will do a very thorough job of inspecting your home. Diagnosing the problem areas and advising you in energy conservation is their aim. The energy auditor will examine your house exterior gauging its specific features and overall size. There is some detailed information Energy Bell will need to know. Questions from the energy auditor may include the number of people living in the home, the hours of the day at the home, and thermostat settings you currently use while in and away from the home. You should take the tour with the auditor during your home energy audit in order to answer any questions or to ask any that you might have. The equipment used by Energy Bell during your home energy audit will include a blower door which will identify air leaks in your house. This will be used primarily around windows, doors, attic hatches, plumbing fixture, trim, base-mold, flooring and sky lights where indoor air leaks are most prevalent. If conditions are right Energy Bell uses another method of energy loss detection is the use of an infrared camera that will detect air coming in from outside and will point out areas where insulation is needed in any part of the home. These are tools that enable Energy Bell to diagnose areas that rate poorly in energy efficiency. Here are a few of the test that are included in all of Energy Bell’s energy audits. “Blower Door Testing” This checks for all leakage and air quality in your home. This is a major cause of home discomfort and energy efficiency. “Pressure Pan Reading” This checks the duct work system throughout your home for any leaks or major infiltration issues. Having bad ducts also causes your HVAC system to run inefficiently. “Thermography Readings” This is an infrared scanner that allows us to see into your homes walls for any areas we cannot see with the naked eye. (Conditions have to be right to use this tool) “Rigorous Inspection from the Crawlspace to the Attic” This checks your entire home for any energy problems and lets you know how your home is working as a “Whole House Energy System” “Comprehensive Audit Booklet of Your Home” This is given after every audit and will supply you with pictures and descriptions of all the energy inefficiencies and simple solutions that need to be done to fixes these energy problems.
