"They were the fair price in the Chicagoland area and their customer service was the best!. They showed up on time and finished the job as scheduled. One of the" installers was an
Veteran and there technical knowledge helped get this job done right. Thanks BRT

"I would use
in the future mainly because of how honest he was when I dealt with him. He could have easily just taken my repair but he offered" many options up front so I could make a decision. You do not come across this much anymore.

Camera Repair reviews in Lexington

I have no complaints with
Lexington Camera Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
. They were extremely professional, wrapped my camera body very well and did the repair quite well. The problem was the cost - $330.00 to attach a mirror to a camera body that cost $3000.00. It seems to me, that the manufacturer should have covered some of the cost, if not all of it.

could not do the work themselves. They told me that it had to be sent back to the manufacturer, or some distributor elsewhere. The repair took about two or three weeks before the camera was returned. My only suggestion might be that for all of the camera enthusiasts out there, that unless you are truly a professional photographer (and successful at it), I would by lower end cameras since the technology is changing so rapidly, and instead of spending $330 for a repair, just buy the latest camera body that uses your existing lenses.

Up front, it pains me to give anything less than straight A's to this business, because they really are a unique resource in Atlanta for repair of old film cameras, and have been a beloved member of the community for decades. However, I need to write this so that people know not to use them for film-to-video transfers.
I had a fairly large amount of Super 8mm film that I wanted to transfer to video/DVD. I knew that camera shops often perform this service, and Camera Doctor did indeed offer the service. So I had them do one large reel as a test.
There were a number of problems with the resulting video transfer:
- Their process uses an old machine to project the film and record onto videotape. Yes, VIDEOTAPE. They then convert that to DVD. The resulting quality is pretty bad. Modern shops use a "direct imaging" process to go from the film direct to digital image.
- The resulting DVD had their business name and promotional graphics covering the disc, with little space left to add my own labeling. Note that you can't stick labels onto DVDs. Other shops leave a LOT more whitespace.
- It was fairly expensive. For that price, I expect good results.
Now, they were very convenient to me (I live in the neighborhood) and so this was a good test for me. I learned what questions I needed to ask other shops that I evaluated, and I did find another shop that did an excellent job.
So, again, Camera Doctor is great for camera repair, their core business, but take your film transfer jobs elsewhere.

Went well-
Lexington Camera Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
told me they would look at it and if they could fix they would but if not- They would send to Nikon. This is a $1800 lens I have used for 10 years extensively and is considered a Nikon "Classic" Repair was $700 with tax. I gave a B on pricing but I realize they were subject to Nikon's pricing totally- So My B is a flip at Nikon not

Last week I went to the website after seeking out camera repair options on Angies List.
I saw
Lexington Camera Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
and their high ratings, so went to their website.
There is a message window to enter info on your camera problems and then submit it to the provider...with the promise of a prompt response.
I filled out the message window (in fact twice, with a follow-up) and there has been no response.
I am giving this vendor a grade of F based on no response, but will be happy to ammend/remove if there are mitigating circumstances.

I sent an inquiry to
Lexington Camera Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
on Friday, November 28, 2014, asking if my damaged Olympus digital camera was worth repairing. I gave him the model number (Stylus 850SW) and asked if it was repairable after being dropped with no physical outside damage. I have checked the "comments" on my Angie's List account page several times but there are no comments. I don't know if he ever got the inquiry, if the camera is repairable, or if he is not interested....just no response. I have since ordered a new camera to replace the damaged one but I thought you should know about this provider's "lack of response" or that he doesn't get the inquires from Angie's List for some reason. I will not be using his service because a new camera has been ordered and I will not attempt to have the old one repaired.

I originally bought products on Amazon, and my wife used to take the computer to fix. There was always something to fix. It wouldn't work right, the fan would be blowing the whole time, and it would get so hot on your lap. We had to take it in multiple times, and had to pay extra charges. She had to buy a power brick. Our little dog chewed on the cord when she was a baby. Those kind of things were going on constantly after a year. It would hang up, and the screen would flicker. It was terrible. They can improve on the fact that if you have to bring the product back a couple of times, they should just replace it. I had a Toshiba, and I kept bringing it in,and they would say they replaced this, and then the screen broke. I bought another power brick for it, and a month later it was dead again. They fixed it at all cost, and it didn't work again. The price was fairly cheap compared to other things. It was cheaper than their premier apple products. Windows in itself was tricky. I didn't think they did a lot of stuff. I had a computer sitting there for 3 or 4 weeks, they said they were waiting for a part. Some people there were spot on, and they did things, and put the banner, and then you meet someone else who treats you like you are trying to run them over. I purchased cameras from them in the past, and I bought a mini camera from them. I bought a Sony Camcorder from them at one time. At one point they did some really good service work.

They were able to free the skylight filter with no damage to the lens. Everything went great. They've been in business for decades. They have experts on stuff that can do unique repairs.
