"The carpet arrived and was installed as scheduled - no issue. Happy with the results so we ordered bedroom tile. The tile arrived as scheduled and was installed" as scheduled. The 2 installers worked all day. However they did not clean the floor properly after installation and there is a haze over many tiles which I have not been able to clean off. The quarter round installers did not arrive as a scheduled and called at the end of their arrival window to say they could not come until the next day. I called them when they did not arrive the next day and they said they would be 1 1/2 hours late. When they arrived they began work but soon said they did not have enough materials and would have to come back tomorrow (Sunday). My husband said that was not an option and gave them directions to the nearest Home Depot. They returned and finished the job. So, the final result of the tile project is that my husband missed a day of work due to the installers not showing up and our new tile has a haze on it. We would never deal with this company again!

"They came in 2-persons team and did a good job. There was a miscommunication between the provider and the team, however, they fixed it in the following week. Highly recommended.

Consumers have many choices beyond traditional hardwood floors, including wood laminate and renewable sources such as bamboo, cork and even leather. Some alternatives look virtually the same as hardwoods.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Excellent. They gave me various options to either replace or repair, didn't push one way or the other, and went beyond their normal scope of work to get everything done (even fixed the leaky toilet so I didn't have to call in a plumber after they finished).

After my 5 month ordeal I would never recommend this company. I contacted them via Home Depot to get an estimate on finishing my unfinished basement. Their pricing wasn't the lowest, but they said they could do it in half the time (2 weeks compared to 1 month) and I mistakenly trusted the "Home Depot" connection so I went with them. ...More There were definitely some high pressure sales tactics, but it's my fault for falling for them. After they simply didn't show up for the first few days that they were supposed to start on the basement, I should have cancelled at that point. Unfortunately I didn't.
The next few months was a consistent mess of them saying they were going to show up, and not showing up - them saying they would start another part of the project, and not starting. I went through multiple points of contact with them and Home Depot in order to move forward and nothing worked. I eventually got so fed up that, as a last resort I contacted the Home Depot CEO - never thinking in a million years that this would work. Well, within a few hours I got a call from Home Depot's "executive escalation" team and within a week the project was finished. And in that week, the majority of the work was done.
In the end they blamed the fact that it was winter and they weren't able to dig a hole in the ground to build the egress window, and couldn't do anything without that being done first. If they would have just told me that to begin with, I would have been saved months of waiting and disappointment.

I purchased a $349 deal via Angie's List back in the fall of 2014. I called several times and asked if i could delay the refinishing date due to extenuating circumstances (including other on-going renovations that made it impossible to clear out the areas that needed refinishing, and then deaths in the family). They were ...More exceptionally accommodating, no matter that more than a year had passed before I could finally schedule the work! When I was finally ready to schedule the work, "Mo" from the front office honored the deal without question, and gave me a reasonable cost estimate for additional work I wanted done. The floor refinishing was completed in less than 2 days by and . They worked very hard for every hour they spent on my floors. Their expertise and attention to detail was evident. They consulted with me when necessary, and honored my preferences when possible. The floors turned out beautifully, even better than I could have imagined! They replaced damaged wood, they filled in the most egregious gaps between boards, and patched nail holes that had resulted from previous carpet installations. Even after the floors were freshly sanded, they looked great, but once they were stained they were just amazing! They even made the old pine stairs look good. They installed quarter round molding around all edges and lovely transition molding between the hardwood and carpeted or tiled areas. If I ever decide to have my bedroom floors refinished, this is the company I will call!

updated the stone in our fireplace and hearth and it looks great. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time and completed the work within the time frame they originally estimated. The team is very friendly and they cleaned up their supplies each day. I would definitely use their services again and would recommend them to others.
- Falon C.

The estimator came out and measured the floor. He did not bring any samples. He said I had to go to the showroom to view samples and I could take and return samples if needed. I went to the show room that afternoon and made my selection. I did not hear back from them and after a week I called to get the estimate. The estimate was 50% more than ...More other estimates I had gotten. This and the fact they never called me back was a clear message that they were not interested in my business.
- Donna S.

Absolutely excellent! and the installer were extremely professional. was very timely, and when the installer ran late, called with the update and to check my schedule needs. The shades are wonderful -excellent quality. I immediately ordered additional for three surrounding windows ...More in the room. And - I'd considered getting different shades in another room. was honest (!!!!) and suggested that what I had was still very good and not different from what he would suggest. Wow. As I said above, I also asked him to measure for carpeting. I would highly, very highly, suggest working with and Window Coverings. It is an independent company, owned and operated by . You deal with him and supporting an independent business owner who has top quality???? You cannot go wrong!
- michelle P.

was a pleasure to work with- very professional, punctual, and honest. He gave us a great price and our floors look amazing! He kept us in the loop throughout the whole process and made sure to educate us on how to maintain and care for the floors. We were extremely happy with his work and would recommend him to everyone!
- Kelli B.

There are so many great words I could say about (owner and
operator of ) and his team but I feel l could sum it
up in two words, "Happy and Grateful". "Happy" because that is what my
wife and I feel every time we step into our home and see our new
floors, ...More and "Grateful" because we were fortunate to chose and his
team to do the job. is a true master of his trade, he knew
everything that needed to be done to achieve our happiness and he just
did it. He has a great personality so he is a joy to work with in the
process. His team were prompt and neat when they worked, always cleaned
after the job as well as make sure your ideas were carried out to the
fullest. LLC prices were fair and reasonable, so we
got a great product at reasonable prices. It is a relief to find a
company willing to go the extra mile for its customer, I would recommend
to anyone looking for a great experience.
