. The contracter,
gave us a fair estimate and working with a supply door vendor, found just what we were looking for. It did take longer for it to come in, but
kept making phone contact with us as we all waited. Once it came in, he and his team showed up to install the double doors. On the first one they found much water damage and they made some recommendations for us to work with our insurance folks to cover it. They waited until the insurance folks denied us, then immediately came back to work and installed all three doors. They daily cleaned up their mess and when they had to leave an opening, put in a plywood cover to protect us. They also cut in our drywall upstairs to get a better look at any water damage. They neatly repaired the drywall. They replaced the water damaged wood with pressure treated wood and replaced the cedar planking on our exterior to match our other wood.

Mr. Chipolla was great from beginning to end. He came, saw project, said he could bid the project, or do it by the hour and gave me his cost and helper's cost by hour. He told me which would way would cost less and why. He told me he could get here in a few days and did. When he came I had a lot of construction dust all over, and when he was done the site was cleaner than when he found it. He did so well, that I was racking my brain to remember all the other little projects I wanted done; and when I have a list of them together I will definitely call him. It is good to find someone you can trust, who does a good job, and does what they say they will do, when they say they will do it!

It went very well.
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did a very good job of keeping the subcontractors scheduled, arriving on time, and if I had an issue he was very responsive and the problem was fixed. I highly recommend him for all construction/renovation work.

It went well. The estimate was in line with others received though all were more than we had expected. As we had other work done a few days before; we needed to recoup finances before booking more work. Would consider using this contractor, if we had not decided to wait until we had the necessary recources.

Let me say right of the bat, these guys are AMAZING in every aspect of their job. I contacted CSI because I recently moved back in with my aging parents who needed the help and added security of someone else being there. So needing some additional space and privacy, I contacted CSI along with 3 other general contractors to convert an existing sunroom into an off-suite. As early as the bidding process I could tell I was working with a higher caliber of quality and service. Of the 4 contractors they were the most expensive, but not by much. The bids I got were $28k (yeah right), $40k, and $44k. One contractor didn't show up for his appointment.
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
from CSI came out took notes, actually measured the size of the addition (the only to do this), made recommendations for the build and asked if their were any special considerations that needed to be addressed while the work was to be performed.
When work began the project manager was

,
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's brother. He was the point of contact from the demo till the last gutter was put on. And everything was done smooth and seamless. The entire crew was very nice and respectful even taking time out to give assistance around the house. They battled the wind, rain, snow, ice, more snow, and still finished the project on time and on budget (despite my many last minute changes). Their attention to detail approach to construction allowed them to work not just quickly but more important efficiently. When challenges arose, as they do in any construction project, they were addressed and resolved before they could become an issue.
So to sum it all up, there is no one else in Columbia that i would call for any construction needs. CSI has won my customer loyalty and I'm sure they will do the same for you.

Initially attentiveness and service were good last summer. Due to my workload we needed to delay our major projects until the first of 2014. Our goal was to begin construction by about February 1. However,
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's responsiveness to questions and refinement of estimates slowed to a snail's pace. At one point he mentioned working on a project in Arizona so maybe our project became too insignificant for him (we would have been spending about $40,000). At times I also felt like
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was not listening to what we the homeowners wanted and was more interested in fitting us into the mold of how he wanted to do things. Ultimately we have had to begin searching again for a new contractor and getting new estimates- a process that could have begun months ago if
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
had simply told us he was no longer interested in our project, which certainly appears to be the case. My advice to anyone looking for a contractor would be to spend your time with someone else.

This "contractor" was referred to us by our real estate agent. We later discovered that his concrete contactor license expired in 2009 and he has not been licensed in SC since. He came to the house and we went over the work to be done. Later he told us the cost would be $6,500, although no details were provided. We thought this was high, but it included reframing the front door, 5 windows instead of 3, tearing out and rebuilding built in bookcase and existing window frame, repairing rotted eve, and installation of 2 bath fans, not 1. None of the above was done, since the home inspector and termite inspector made these repairs at no charge. After the inspectors completed their work, we contacted
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and asked for a new, detailed estimate. In the meantime we got several estimates from electricians and window companies hoping to save some money. We discussed this with
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he said he could save us a lot of money by doing it all. He was working another job and said he would order the door and 3 windows and would be out to do all the work when the door and windows were ready. We asked him again for a detailed estimate and he said he would bring it. They started the job on March 3, although they had been out in November to install the garage receptical so we could have a new garage door installed. When they arrived we asked for the detailed estimate and he gave us a story about breaking up with his fiancee and not being able to find the estimate. We had no reason not to believe him. They were here five partial days. The first partial day they installed the 3 light fixtures, the medicine cabinet and the fan. After the first partial day
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did little, except for installing the 3 sash windows, the bathroom fan, the dimmer switch, helping with the floor molding and some caulking.
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's partner told
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
how to install the windows, but they were not installed properly and his partner had to reinstall two of the three windows. On Thursday all of the work was done except for the rain diverter and the shingle molding.
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
wanted payment for work completed and gave us an itemized bill listing all the work done but with only 3 numbers on it - the subtotal of $6,250, payments of $5,500 and Balance of $750 for work to be done on the following Monday. Unfortunately there was no way to audit this bill. Having a senior moment, I gave
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
a check for $5,500 payable to him. I still trusted him and said I would need to have a detailed bill, listing the cost of all the materials and labor before he would receive the final check for $750. When the work was completed on Monday, we finally got a detailed bill, but it still could not be audited because he did not supply any invoices. I said that at a minimum we would need the invoice for the door and windows, which was listed as $1,511. This would be needed for warranty purposes. Also, since the windows came without screens, we needed the invoice to order the correct size screens.
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
said he would get us a copy of the invoice.
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's partner,
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, had mentioned that the door and windows had been purchased at
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, which is only a few miles from our house. We went there to order the screens and asked for a copy of the invoice. Instead of the $1,511
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
had listed, the invoice total was $876. The following day we got an email from
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
with the "invoice" attached. Instead of being an invoice it was a quote dated 3/12 for $1,511. We took this to
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and asked what was going on. The salesman became visibly upset and immediately took 2 employees off the floor and marched them into the office and shut the door. He emerged about 5 minutes later and apologized and gave us a lame excuse. We knew the reason for the difference in the invoices is spelled SCAM. We never heard back from
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
regarding the unpaid balance on his invoice to us. We sent him a detail email and asked for a refund, but have not heard back. In addition, the hours worked on the final invoice were grossly overstated. The invoice shows "5 Days Labor 2 men $4,000." This translates to $50 per hour for 2 men working 40 hours each. This is absurd because the hours are overstated. They were both here for about 25-28 hours each, but
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did very little productive work after the first day. They did a couple hours of work off premises, sawing the molding, etc.but no way did they even put in 40 hours each, let alone working 40 hours. Finally, we had ordered a fiberglass exterior door, but they got a steel door, which was cheaper. It would have been really nice if we could have chosen the door and windows. The door looks good, but it is steel, not fiberglass. We are not happy with the way the windows look. Had we used the licensed electrician and window company, we would have had 5 new windows of our choosing and we would have saved about $2,000.

Cliff and his team completely remodeled our master bathroom. After discovering that a
water leak had destroyed the structure of the bathroom floor, we took
advantage of the situation and redesigned the room. The wonderful new
walk-in tub is now a "universal design" - meaning that a person can
enter the tub even with limited ability. We also widened the door to be
more universally accessible. The beautiful white subway tiles, seafoam
(

aqua/gray) walls and new white tub, sink, and
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
gray floor
tiles work wonderfully together to update the whole room. The overall
result has introduced a little luxury, and added a lot of beauty, at a
reasonable cost. Cliff helped visualize the plan, wrote up a detailed
quote, and then made it all reality. Thanks, Cliff!

I chose
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
because they had previously done excellent work at my home. However, this time my experience was different. Much of the work performed was done very poorly. The quality of workmanship was poor, fit and finish for almost all of the new installation was lacking, most of the materials provided by Gage were the cheapest they could find, and it appeared that there was very little oversight by the job superintendent. Obvious shortcuts were taken on almost every phase of their work. Overall, It is my opinion that the
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
employees were much more concerned with doing as little as possible as quickly as possible and with the cheapest materials available. Gage rectified some of the most glaring errors that I pointed out but unfortunately sometimes once the damage is done there's not a lot of "fixing" that can be done. I am absolutely certain that
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
would not allow the quality of work that his company did at my house to be done at his own home.
I WOULD NOT USE
Columbia Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
AGAIN AT HALF THE PRICE.

Specifics - partial list
New front door installed with half inch gap below the door
Old facing reused around new door
Rough 2X4 used as facing on door
Interior doors installed with half moon holes visible around the doorknobs
Switch plates and outlet covers not even removed during interior painting
Some windows not painted
Fairly inexpensive light fixtures replaced with even cheaper fixtures
New countertop installed in kitchen - not even attached to the counter below
Scraps used to fill in voids at sides of countertops
