Gutter Cleaning Reviews in Columbia

was able to squeeze in an appt for gutter cleaning on very short notice. Other companies wanted to charge 3 times
rate because of the short time frame, so I was pleased from the start that he didn't take advantage of our immediate need. He let me know in advance what time he would arrive and was right on time. He is a quick worker and cleaned up much better than the previous company we used for gutter cleaning. His price was very reasonable and he is friendly and professional. I really appreciate that he is direct about how complicated or how
a project is going to be, and patiently answers any questions I might have before the work begins. I'm a DIY homeowner & am meticulous with projects I do, but there are just some things you cannot tackle yourself. I feel confident
and any helpers he brings are going to complete work just as good or even better than I would myself. I've since hired him for 3 additional projects and he is now the go-to guy for our family on projects we are not able to do on our own.

We contacted
18, 2013 to inquire about a home visit to discuss gutter installation. Upon our initial meeting with this contractor, we felt that her company could provide quality work and complete our project in a prompt and professional manner. After we agreed to the job and price, things did not go well from there. On the day that the work was to have begun, no one showed up or called. After 2-3 days of leaving messages on her phone she called and said she thought the job had been done. After several delays (and approximately 16 back and forth phone calls to schedule our job) including putting our job behind other jobs, broken down vehicles (twice) and other excuses, they started our job weeks later. She asked her crew to get our check before they left which was just as the sun went down. We paid them in good faith. She never inspected their work or ever returned to our home. All looked ok until it rained. The gutters did not drain the water as they should have. Some downspouts were completely dry and no rain flowed through them at all even when heavy rains came. Most of the water was diverted into one downspout, flooding an entire area. We called her to ask that she make the adjustments and correct the slope of the gutters. She said our fascia boards must not be level and gave a few other illogical reasons for the lack of proper drainage. We asked that she send someone or come herself so that we could discuss how to make the corrections. She promised a number of times that she would schedule a visit to determine and correct the problem. At first she returned our calls and scheduled a visit, but never came to inspect or send her crew. Eventually she stopped returning our calls. We have records of at least 17 telephone calls from August 21, 2013 until September 26, 2013 after we discovered the problem. Once she stopped returning our calls, we eventually hired another company to make apparently
adjustments to correct the problems.

Gutter Cleaning reviews in Columbia

Very well. When
Columbia Gutter Cleaners Provider Name Locked
came out to give an appraisal for the job, he told me that he couldn't give me an exact time when he would be here, only that it would be "sometime Wednesday". He and his co-worker arrived in the afternoon of the day specified and proceeded to get right to work. They were quick, thorough and did a first class job. I thought the price was very reasonable.

is great. He gave me an estimate, did the work, and charged a lot less than the estimate as most of my gutters were in pretty good shape. Honest man. Will continue to use his services whenever I need a handyman.

I called the company and left a voice message about what I wanted done (roof cleaning) with information on how to contact me. No one called back and I gave them four days before contacting another company, which is not on your list. I would think this is not the company that should be listed on Angie's List, especially with an 'A' after their name.non

This was an annual service and was great!

called me back quickly after my initial call. He was able to schedule me in quickly -- I was trying to get my house cleaned before an event. He arrived on time and was friendly and courteous. And he did a great job on the house and driveway.

I like his work and we have an agreement where I pay him per visit. He has also cleaned out my gutters; he is very diverse in his work. He ll do just about any job you ask of him except landscaping. I like him so much I have already referred him to my family members.

Although I got a strong sense of professionalism from them during the pre-contract phase, I have been disappointed in nearly every aspect of their service since then. An expensive roofing job was not done properly and substantial problems continue many months on. It seems inevitable that the next step will be to hire a lawyer. Here’s the story:...More /> After receiving the contract and down payment,
Columbia Gutter Cleaners Provider Name Locked
communicated very little about what would happen next, or when. Workers showed up at random times with no advance notice. After several weeks of work on fascia, soffit, and framing, our first
indication that roof tear off was likely to happen soon was arriving home to find a dump truck in the driveway backed up to the house. Not only was there a lack of communication from them to me, but it seems like my communications to them fell on deaf ears. Several items required rework because they were not done correctly the first time, despite detailed conversations and sketches of what I wanted.
But the most serious problem is that the roof does not drain! Although he agreed to use tapered ISO board to establish some pitch, this was not done. When I arrived home from work one evening to see workers installing ISO and TPO, I observed that they were not using tapered ISO. I immediately notified

that I didn’t see the tapered board. Their response was (verbatim) " After the next rain, we will know the areas that will require the tapered insulation. We will install the tapered insulation at that time." Four months later, there is still standing water and the problem has not been addressed. They largely ignore my phone calls and emails.
But standing water isn’t the only problem! The metal fascia/drip

/gutter was improperly constructed so that a) the gutter doesn’t drain (it has two ½” drain holes for about every 30’ of gutter! And these holes are so small that they immediately become blocked with debris), and b) much worse, when water backs up in the gutter it doesn’t just run over the
Columbia Gutter Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, it runs back behind the fascia and into the roofing space where wood must be rotting at this very minute! During rains, water actually runs out of the soffit vents and from behind the fascia! This would have been avoided if they had used a two-piece construction, as sketched, rather than three-piece which must have somehow been easier but a really bad idea!
When I emailed pictures of water running out of soffit vents and from behind the fascia, the response I got back was "I understand from a General Contractor in your area that there not just a little rain but (3) inches in (1) hour." Yes, that is absolutely true. But I don't think that there are any conditions in which water should be seen draining OUT of the roof through soffit vents! Besides, it doesn't take 3"/hr to cause this problem. Nearly every rain produces water draining from behind the fascia.
There were other problems: I was startled to get a phone message one day while the roof was wide open asking me for a $10k check the next morning (while I happened to be out of town)! This seemed a bit like hostage-holding! I understand incremental payments, but I think it would be appropriate to give some advance notice when a payment will be due. That lack of notice was consistent with virtually every other dealing with the company – they are very poor at communicating with the customer. (Note that at no time did I ever threaten to withhold any payment. In fact, I provided the requested check one day after they asked for it, when I was back in Columbia. So the "surprise payment" schedule just seems

unwarranted and very unprofessional.)
Did I mention finding loose metal fasteners (screws, nails) dropped all around on the driveway, lawn, etc? I have quite a nice little pile of screws, gasket-head nails, metal trimmings, etc that were found on and around the driveway and yard. Dangerous to people, tires, animals. Oh, and that screw penetrating the ceiling in the guest bedroom -- I’m not sure what to do about that one. Sticking right through the ceiling.
Am I a happy customer? No, most definitely not!
I did not rate "price" because, so far, I'm out lots of money and I have a leaky roof. If they ever fix the problems and finish the job, I guess the price will be fair. At least, compared to other estimates, it was reasonable. But maybe the other offerors would have given me a roof that worked the first time and so would have been a better value.

came the next day after I called to do the estimate. we've had lots of rain, so there was some delay in getting it done, but as soon as there was an open window of no rain he came and quickly got it built. It is very sturdy and constructed well. He had to find another window to come and put on a second coat of paint, which he did. We are very pleased with the porch. It seems sturdier than the one we started with. There was excellent communication through out the process. Price was very reasonable, under the original estimate. I might have to put another coat of paint on it, but with all the rain we had this summer, I'm fine with that.

We just moved into the house in December and it had been unoccupied since

came out one Friday afternoon while we were at work and did an amazing job. They cleared off the roof, cleaned the gutters, and swept everything off the porch and deck. They bagged everything up and took it with them. I would recommend them and would use them again.
