"The following complaint is regarding the improper billing practice by
. On the aforementioned service date, I took my vehicle (listed above)" for an air conditioning inspection as my vehicle's AC was not blowing cold air. Upon arrival I talked to
who works at the desk who took all necessary information. He informed me the process of what the inspection will entail and told me it'll be a few hours before they will be able to ascertain the root cause of the issue. I told Mr.
I understand and will wait for his call and left the vehicle and went home. During the conversation,
neither verbally informed me nor provided me with a written quote for an AC inspection charge which amounted to be $114.04 as I later found out. When Mr.
called me later that day he informed me that they found the root cause of the AC and the problem has to do with a bad compressor. When asked he quoted me a price of $935.36 for replacing the old compressor with an after
compressor. I told him I will come and pick up the car because I don't have time to leave it again overnight as I needed the car the next day and I will bring it again after the weekend. When I arrived at the facility later to pick up the car,
presented me with a charge of $114.04 for inspecting the AC which was a complete shock to me. I told him that I had no knowledge of this charge and
did not inform me of this in our conversation in the morning when I brought the car in. I also noted that they did not present me with a written quote for the aforementioned inspection charge as an agreement document between the company and customer for the inspection charge which is an industry standard.
who also works there answered by saying it's the right of the company to not present the quote. At the end of the incident I was forced to pay the charge of $114.04 as neither
nor the owner (
) whom
talked to on the phone did anything to remove the charges. As a side note I then later took my vehicle to a competitor who did present me with a $55 written quote for an AC inspection which is the correct, legal, and ethical way of conducting business. The competitor also replaced my car's compressor with a NEW compressor (not the aftermarket part
quoted) for $820.As a customer I felt blind-sided by the unethical billing practices of
I strongly encourage customers to find another auto mechanic.

Car Inspection reviews in Columbia

One of our neighbors is selling a car, and I was interested in it for our son to purchase. To make sure the car was in good shape - it has low mileage but is 11 years old - we hired
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
to look at it.
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
was friendly and very professional, explaining everything he was going to do. The inspection lasted for an hour and a half, after which
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
went over the results in detail. Lucky for us, the car is in great shape -
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
advised a "buy." He gave advice about the price as well. Also, we received same-day service, since we want to buy the car quickly. I would recommend
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
to anyone!

They found a replacement for the wheel since the rim was bent and the posts were broken and switched it out with the spare on the back so that the wheels still matched. The wheel they found was steel rather than aluminum and they discussed it with me before committing to the plan. They were very helpful and took the time to show me the damage and explain my options. The price was very reasonable and I would most definitely choose their services again.

There was a mix up in the service location & the provider helped me to make sure I was able to get a full refund from
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
& while they were doing that they also diagnosed another issuse with my car for free.

I called
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
, and
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
answered. He said he could probably come out the same day or the day after. I gave him the location of the dealership where the used car was that I was planning to buy. He was able to come out the same day, inspect, and send me a report via email. He also called me to verbally go over what he had found. He seemed very thorough and knowledgeable. I've already recommended him to someone else, and I will definitely use him again the next time I need to have a used car inspected. It feels great to have some assurance that the car I bought doesn't have any major problems.

I bought my most recent car from
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
in 2011, and had a fairly easy experience, so I went back to look into upgrading yesterday. The sales associate we worked with,
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
, was incredibly nice and we enjoyed working with him.
However, when it came time to negotiate the purchase price of the vehicle we were interested in, the sales manager,
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
, was downright rude and condescending. Based on his "hard sell," right out of the gate, I'll never do business with this place again. Someone really needs to remind this guy that he works in sales and part of his job is customer service. There are plenty of other dealerships in the area that treat customers with respect, so there's no reason to give this place your business.

Excellent! I have been using this company for several years to handle the repairs to my vehicles. I also purchase my tires, etc. from BTD of
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
. I have had to spend anywhere from $40.00 to $1,100.00 in having work performed on my vehicles and these people are true professionals. They also treat you like family as they want you to keep coming back when you need mechanical work.
- bob G.

I did not go well.
First, I was forced to take the car back to the garage after the first repair ($600) because of a faulty repair to the clutch pedal.
Then, a week after the first repair, the clutch completely stopped working and I had to have to car towed back to the shop where the problem was diagnosed as having to replace the clutch, starter and flywheel which cost an additional $1000. Since this happened on a weekend and the garage has no weekend hours, I was forced to get a rental car which cost me $125,
The next day while trying to start the car, the starter made a grinding sound, to which I had to return the car to the shop again along with the recommendation from another mechanic to check a strange sound coming from the clutch pedal which might be associated with the linkage.
At this point, they said everything was ok with the clutch, however they replaced the starter.
Yesterday (Friday) the starter began having the same issues and it's now the fourth of
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
weekend and I have no confidence taking my vehicle anywhere for fear of breaking down and getting another tow.
I called the shop and am taking the vehicle in again on Monday to have it looked at.
I'm ready to cut my losses and take it elsewhere, except that if the flywheel is bad it may be under warranty

We believe in driving cars until the wheels fall off. We have had a variety of repairs done on each of our 4 old cars.
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
is always straightforward and explains everything. We were ready to dump one of our cars because our mechanic at the time couldn't find or fix the problem. We took it to
Columbia Car Inspectors Provider Name Locked
. He fixed it in a day and so far we've put another 60,000 miles on that vehicle!
