The initial service call was fine, the tech was nice, explained that "the bearings were shot" and would have to be replaced, and it would be an expensive job. I told him I needed to know the price before I decided what to do. He said I'd hear from the office in a few days. I kept limping along with the washer I have and didn't hear from them. I finally called, they looked it up and said the tech wrote that I needed a new drum. I told them he had said bearings, the woman on the phone said she didn't know what the difference was, maybe you needed to purchase the drum to get the bearings--either way, she didn't have a price and told me she would call Monday. Needless to day, Monday came and went. I called today and was told the price would be $500 for the part plus tax and labor. I asked why it took so long and the woman (to whom I believe I had spoken earlier, she has a distinctive voice) said she didn't know, the information was just sitting in my file. So I'm left not sure whether to call someone else or get a new washer.
PS--Along the way I called the Maytag 800 number to tell them I had had an issue with their provider getting me an estimate. The Maytag rep called

In short, I will use
I've had three appointments to try to get my dryer fixed and it's still unresolved. The first was for them to come out and tell us that it was broken so they could order a part. The next was to install the part WRONG, And the third they cancelled citing bad weather (but my husband who is a local auto parts driver who had no problem going into work and driving all day).
Problems with service abound. The receptionist has a terrible attitude problem; her voice drips with irritation and confrontation. They told us that the part would be in on a Monday so we waited for the call to schedule install - it didn't happen. We waited a week after the date that they said they would have the part before we called to ask what was up. They had gotten he part the previous week but had forgotten to call.
In the end, the timer doesn't line up to the stop areas so we had to cover it with blue painters table indicating the new stops and minute settings but they don't see an issue with that. They can't come out at the end of their service window or commit to smaller time windows than 2 hours. I'm not sure I'm even willing to work with their bad attitudes or just get a new dryer.
I had occasion to speak with the owner of this company as well. He was extremely respondent and professional, courteous and sincere.
I can't say enough good about this company... from the top down it is a first class, 5- star operation!
