"I bought a home and needed a propane provider in
. 2012. I'd never had propane before so I called around and they all seamed to be" the same. So I went with the company that one of the neighbors had, which was H.
, a
dealer. In August after the first heating season I received a letter ask if I wanted to sign up for a program and "Lock in" my rate for the next heating season. I called and asked why the price went from $2.49/
to $3.59/
? They kind of back peddled and said we can give it to you for $2.49 this year. At the start of the third year the cost of propane went from $2.49/
to $4.69/
. After another phone call they said they could drop it to $3.69/
. That still sounded high and suspicious to me so I called around and found Suburban to be way out of touch with the rest of the propane suppliers. Everyone else in the area is in the $2.02 - $2.39/
range. And these prices were not one year special pricing. I finally settled in with "Penny-Wise Propane". They told me "we don't have an introductory price"..."why would we give a better price to a new customer, than someone who has been loyal to us for years". There price was $2.09/
...plus(which I didn't know at the time) if you pay the bill with in 10 days you get a 5% discount. So now I pay $1.99/
. That's $2.70/
less than Suburban was going to be. I use 1100 gallons a year...so I'm saving almost $3000 a year by switching. Last but not least...Suburban charges to have there tank picked up after you switch.

has completely lost attention to customer service. They bought out our old propane provider (Heritage) a couple of years ago and the experience" we've had has gone straight downhill while the pricing has skyrocketed. We constantly have to call when our tank is low and they never come as promised (takes several calls). The office staff is rude and dismissive of any issues we bring up to them. The cost has inexplicably gone up more than 50% since last year despite
pricing going down. The old vendor installed our tank when we moved into our house 14 years ago and we are stuck dealing with
until we buy the tank and move to another provider. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST OTHERS CONSIDER DOING THE SAME....

Propane Sales and Service

Propane is three-carbon alkane formed as a byproduct of natural gas processing and petroleum refining. Initially produced as a gas, it can be compressed to a lightweight, stable liquid for transport and storage.

Providers who deliver propane, such as Boye's Gas Service in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are in great demand across the U.S., thanks to wicked winter weather. (Photo submitted by member Sue P.)

Propane Retailer reviews in Wakefield

This company is absolutely disgusting and participate in illegal trespassing on people's property as well as not punishing pervert workers who stare at women while they're in the bath.
A few days ago, on my rural property (that has 6 foot fences and has all locked gates) a
Wakefield Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
Worker trespassed onto my property, demanding I pay them money that I supposedly owe them. I was in the bathtub at the time, and I look up, and there's this man just standing there, staring at me. When I leapt out of the tub and covered myself, he demanded I give him 100 dollars that I supposedly owe this propane company (I haven't used propane in over a year). Even though I was clearly distressed and repeatedly demanded he get off my private property, he kept protesting, saying that he was going to shut off my propane if I didn't pay. Since I don't use the propane, this threat didn't really

me and finally after the fifth or sixth time of me yelling for him to get off my property, he finally left. I have no idea how he got onto my property, as like I said, I have locked gates and tall fences as well as "No Trespassing" signs everywhere.
When I called the
Wakefield Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
manager to complain about this incredibly violating and illegal behavior, his response was "Well, you've let him on your property before."
Seriously. A woman calls to tell the manager that one of his workers illegally trespassed onto her property and stared at her while she was naked and vulnerable (which is illegal, too!) and his response is "You've let him on your property before."
Yeah, I've let him onto my property before when I've ordered propane. That is not an open invitation for any worker from this company to come onto my property whenever they want. Especially to "bill collect"
The manager then demanded that I let the worker back onto my property to remove my propane tank. I told him that if anyone trespassed onto my property from his company, I would be calling the police and letting my dogs loose. His solution for this was to have another worker call me a few hours later, like everything was normal, and demand that I let them remove my tank. Naturally, I do not feel comfortable letting ANYONE from this company on my property ever again.
I am now filing a police report, a report with the chamber of commerce and a report with the BBB as well as consulting a lawyer. Please, if you have any other propane choices, go with someone else. Especially if you are a woman. This kind of treatment from this company is unacceptable, illegal and incredibly violating.

Wakefield Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain key maintenance issues, safety inspections results, and maintenance considerations with me. We believe their ongoing propane per

pricing will remain competitive with other vendors that service the east King County area. The tank installation and propane tank transfer was carefully and appropriately performed. I strongly recommend using his firm and we anticipate that all ongoing propane tank refills will go smoothly, with routine safety checks as

This is the worst company ever, we are customers and called for a delivery on Friday and were told no delivery until Tuesday 2/24 and during the night on Friday ran out of propane, called the company and were told $175.00 fee plus the cost of the propane to deliver, we had no choice but to pay it but after they delivered the service person did not come in and bleed the line on the furnace with resulted in the ignition wire to the furnace being fried. Needless to say had to call a HVAC company who in turn needed to order the part and this is now the 4th day with NO heat during what are the coldest temps in twenty years. Tried to speak to the manager

from the North Haven CT location and were more or less told it is our problem, not his. This is by far the worst customer service ever, what should have been a $300.00 propane delivery is now costing us over $800.00 dollars, xo much for screwing your regular customers.

I had nearly run out of propane (tank below 5%) after waiting for my former propane company to deliver on an order placed nine days earlier. After making repeated phone calls to that company, I either could not reach a live person, or the people that did answer said that they could not even give me an idea of a delivery date.
I left a message on Sunrise's voicemail on a Saturday morning not expecting any return phone call until Monday, because the message stated that their office hours were M-F. However I was surprised when
Wakefield Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
called me back within an hour of my message. He said that they might be able to make it out mid-week but would try to fit me in earlier in the week once they had a

then called me back on Monday morning to say that they could make it out on Tuesday afternoon. As fate would have it, my former propane company actually delivered at noon on Monday, so I had to call

back to let him know to cancel the order this time, but I will definitely call Sunrise for my next fill!

Great. No problems. Installation techs were courteous, knowledgable, and careful working around items in rest of room. Kept work area clean. Instructed me on operation of the

Was prompt and even showed up early for the appointment. Worked very quickly, clean and professional. Would recommend them and I will use them for any future services as needed.

I called to have my propane tank filled as usual. A driver showed up a little bit later to fill the tank but was scared of my puppy. He started hitting my puppy on the nose. I asked him to please don't do that. He got angry and said my puppy was bearing his teeth. My puppy was barking and getting more upset every time the driver hit him. I was trying to catch my puppy and take him inside, I stopped and told the driver maybe he shouldn't come out anymore. He said he didn't have to fill my propane tank. About that time I finally caught my puppy and locked him in the house, when I went back outside the driving was taking off. He left the lid off my propane tank and connections undone.
I called the office to let them know what happened and was told he would have the owner call me back. I didn't hear anything so I called back a little later to see if they were sending someone else out to fill my tank. I was told they didn't want my business anymore because they heard the "whole" story from the driver. I don't know what they think the "whole" story is but this is very bad business.

I never received anything and it has been at least 2 1/2 years at this time. I have gone through the BBB in
