Portsmouth Insulation Contractors Reviews

"I was here on Monday morning when they arrived, and Ed, the crew supervisor was polite and informative as we walked around all the areas to be worked on. I then left them in the care of my 87 year old mother and went to work. On Tuesday when they returned to complete the work, I was not here. I had asked them however to call me when they were almost done so I could inspect the work. Tuesday however turned out to be a snow storm, so they left without calling me. I don't think I would have been able to get here from work in a timely manner anyway for the same reason. When I got home I inspected everything they did. The work this crew did was excellent! All the work was completed as listed. They did not leave any

of insulation or other debris around. It's tough to get excited about insulation, but the workmanship inside the knee-wall area is great - the doors are nice and tight, and it already feels cold in there compared to the adjoining bedrooms. I even saw their soda bottles in my recycle bin which was out by the

. I think my basement floor and the knee wall floor are cleaner than when they arrived. Before they did this work, there was always a few strips in my roof where the snow melted right away from the heat escaping the house. Those strips were covered with snow when I arrived home - so they passed the acid test. I have not always had good experiences with contractors, so all of this is amazing to me. Left unwatched, they did the job, cleaned up after themselves and generally left me very happy that this company did the work at my house. Great Job!

"We had an unfinished crawl space under several room additions at house we recently purchased. We

there were various types of mold from our home inspection. I contacted

who promptly responded and perfromed additional inspections. The most difficult part about our crawl space was that there was less than 6 inches of space between the beams and the ground. So the whole area had to be hand excavated out in order to gain access throughout the 700 SF space. Complicating things further was that the only access to the area was out back where you had to pass through our garage to get there. While outside his normal area of expertise,

formulated a plan of renting conveyor belts and small machinery that would just fit through the spaces to exavate approx 30 cubic yards of material out from under the house. Once that was complete, the moldy fiberglass insulation had to all be removed, the area treated for mold, reinsulated with spray foam, and the dimpleshield and crawlshield products installed. Finally, a dehumidifier for the entire crawl space and basement was installed.

took measures to keep areas as clean as possible given the work and did a fantastic job. I've been having alot of work done on the new house and

is the only contractor who has come in under budget. While this was a high cost for a crawl space, the majority of the cost was for renting equipment and excavating out all the material to gain access to the space.
"The estimator showed up on time and was great. He gave good advice and was responsive with a quick quotation. We were comfortable with the price and service, so we only got one bid. The insulation crew showed up on time. The issue was they were messy on not careful. The insulation hose was dragged across wood railings, causing scratches. Dents were left in the ceiling and on the walls due to the crew rushing. They made a huge messy piles of insulation and insulation got under shut doors all over the house. I called and complained about the clean up. I got a call back from the owner after we spend hours and hours cleaning the house. He invited himself over to see the work the next day, Saturday. I thought this would be fine, but he turned out to be quite eccentric. He didn't place any value on the hours we spent cleaning and was pretty much a total jerk. If you are renovating, go ahead and use these guys as the prices are good. If you are trying to do a special project of sound insulation in a finished space, avoid them at all costs."
