I called
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
back in the summer and spoke directly to
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
, the owner of the company. We set up a time to meet and he was prompt, came prepared and answered all my questions. He as able to provide me with a rough estimate for the job on the spot but emailed an official one within a few days. Due to having to complete jobs he already had booked, work didn't begin until September.

kept me posted as time

near to start my deck and kept in contact with me throughtout.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
not only is the owner of the company but also does the work with the assistance of a few other employees which is nice.

and the guys worked hard, did a great job of cleaning up all the scrap materials and completed the work as agreed upon ( I think even a bit more than agreed upon!). My deck and
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
look great and the boards
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
used are thicker and more sturdy than the boards on the old deck. When I started the process of trying to find someone to do this job, I was discouraged by companies who gave outrageous quotes, didn't warranty their work, used sub contractors, and who didn't follow up with estimates as promised. Luckily, the weeding process leg me to

Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was recommended to me by a friend but he got the job because he gave me a better idea of how to approach the deck whereas eveyone else just gave me a estimate for what I said I wanted versus questioning what I wanted.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
's questioning kept us from making a mistake. He was very patient with my add-ons and the additional prices for the additional items were reasonable.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew came up with ways to solve some problems that problems with came up during the job (largely due to grading and other issues outside their control) with the back door step, the front entrance set of stairs and the lighting). His crew were fairly meticulious, they cleaned up daily and were very dedicated to making sure that our deck turned out great, which it did. we've received numerous compliments on it and greatly enjoy it. It took a little longer to complete than we had anticiapted but it was largely due to weather and worth the wait.

The job went well.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
replaced my old gate by building new driveway gates on existing posts. The gates were made with 1x6 privacy boards and 2x4 treated boards were used to make frames. Site was cleared at end of job. I found
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
to be both professional and concerned for job at hand. I now have a fully functional driveway gate!

Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew were fantastic. Two of my arbor posts were rotting at the base and a portion of my fence was being pulled over by a neighbor's very large maple tree. I contacted
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
by phone on a Thursday to get an estimate. To my delight he was able to come on Saturday morning to assess the work needed and provide an estimate.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
easily explained the extent of damage to my arbor posts and fence and how they could be fixed. He then wrote up an estimate which seemed very reasonable. I signed the contract that day and
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
told me the work could be completed within 2 weeks. He called about a week later to schedule his team for the next day. The two person crew arrived on time and I went over the work with them. I left for an appointment and when I returned about 3 hours later, the work was done. The did a beautiful job and I am really happy with the work. From start to finish it was a real pleasure to deal with
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was extremely professional and it was clear upon meeting him that I would be happy with the work. Like many others I was thrilled to find such a competent contractor willing to do a relatively small job. I felt he gave the same level of service regardless of how big or small the contract.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
is a real gem and a really nice guy. I'd use him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him.

Contacted them through the Angie's list email system.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
, the owner, got back to me very quickly. He came to do the estimate. He was very organized and professional. We were happy with the estimate and had them do the work. They came in about a week to 10 days to install the fence. The crew that came to do the work was very hard working. It started to rain after they had taken down the old fence. They stayed and installed the new fence, even though it was a cold damp rainy day. Fence looks good.

On August 26, 2014, wood fence replacement was scheduled on Septrember 15, 2014 with
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
in writing. On September 15, the day of installation, no one showed. I called at 3:44PM and was told that no one would be here and we needed to reschedule installation for the next day. I declined and asked why no one from
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
called me to let me know that they would not show up and
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
responded "I'm not going to talk about this" and hung up. Would NEVER use again and DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Came out quickly within the week for estimate.
They were very patient and accommodating as we had issues with our property survey and they had reschedule.
Fortunately they were able to schedule us right away once we got the go ahead from the surveyor.
The install went really well and they were finished in 2 days.
A really bad storm at the end of day 2 prevented us from doing final inspection.
The office sent someone out within the next couple of days to do the final walk around to make sure everything was secure. Found a couple of minor spots that the foreman took care of on the spot.
They did not require payment until we had the final inspection and approval of the work. (Besides the initial deposit)
Seemed very fair and couldn't beat the pricing on a beautiful black aluminum fence with
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
Will have them do work again once pool is finished.

Overall, the finished product was very good.
There were some delays in getting the project started and with delivery of products.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
made every attempt to keep things moving, when materials were delayed from vendors.
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was flexible it making changes to the design on the spot, making allowances for some unpredictable things that came up.
The master carpenter on the job was outstanding and did excellent work.

Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
came out in early May for the initial estimate and provided lots of good information about the potential project and understood all of my needs and wants for the fencing. It was already the busy season so he estimated the project would happen in early August. Work began in mid August and took two full weeks, just slightly more than he originally estimated. The two workers who built all of the fencing,

, were very pleasant and conscientious throughout the project and did a very good, very professional job. They consulted with me on details throughout the process to be sure they were building to my desired specifications. We are very pleased with the fencing installed - it looks great and no deer have gotten in and the dogs have not gotten out. It was a lot of fencing and while it was fairly expensive we feel it was well worth the cost for the quality and quantity of fencing we had them build.

It was a horrid experience.
A day after they installed the FIRST set of boards, I noticed that approximately 75% of the boards were split - and by split I mean a little pressure from your fingertips and I could see into my neighbor's back yard through the crack/split. After talking to my neighbor and job foreman, we also learned the 'boss' of the company instructed the crew to put up boards that were only 5/8th thick versus an inch because he didn't have 1 inch thick boards in stock. They also used

fir for the railings on a cedar fence. Yep,
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
fir rails in good old rainy winter

, where a person will grow mold if they stand still for five minutes. In addition to that, the contract said nothing about using
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
fir rails. The contract was for a cedar fence with no mention of the use of
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
fir for the railings.
My neighbor called the owner and after he came out and looked at the crap of a fence that was standing, he agreed to 'fix' the issue with the board thickness and to change out the rails for cedar - although my neighbor had to repeatedly tell him we were not happy with the work.
Fast forward about 4 days, the crew came back in, took the first fence down. It was my intention to go out and keep a check on what was being used and I could kick myself in the butt for getting wrapped up in another project. By the time I went to check on the fence progress, they were GONE and the fence was up. From the house the fence looked okay.
Wellll, not so fast. We went out to put weather sealant on it this weekend and
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
and behold, one of the cedar rails has a crack in it that goes almost to the center of the rail and I would guesstimate that at least 10-15% of the boards have significant splits in them (ok a marginal improvement from 75% of them) - a lot of the damaged boards are in locations behind bushes so you wouldn't see it unless you were right up on the fence. A lot of the splits start from the bottom of the board and go up from there. By significant split, I mean that the board is actually cracked in two not just a hairline crack that will separate with time. A couple of the boards also have a good inch of wood that is fractured/split like they were cut with an
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
off from the side of the board. And as a final dollop of cream on the cake, I would say that on at least 50% of the boards from my neighbor's side, the staples used to secure the fence boards only JUST nicked the board behind it, so that means they are not securely fastened. Think ahead with the shrinking and expansion fence boards naturally do with the seasons and I think we all draw the same conclusion, those boards are going to come loose.
I think what irritates me the most is this company made choices from the start to try and slip poor quality materials that didn't live up to what they said they would do by us. In a nutshell, they tried to short change a client. Had I not just happened to be using the new fence as an excuse to
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
tree from h*** and dig it up, I would not have been close enough to that fence to see what they were doing until it was too late and we would have been living with an even MORE substandard fence than the one we presently have.
I feel that from the start,
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
did not give an honest bid for a decent fence build. Had the owner or whomever did the estimate given an honest bid, I am guessing they would have been closer to the other bids and we likely would have gone with a different company.
I do not think we had excessive expectations. I mean seriously, you go to the expense of having a company build a fence for you, who in their right mind is going to be okay with them using boards that are split right from the get go? Time and weather in
Transfer Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
will take care of that soon enough. As it is, I will be watching that fence every year when I shouldn't have to be worrying about it for a while because of the materials this company chose to use.
If you opt to have this company give you a bid, I am telling you now, buyer beware. At a minimum, you need to lock them into a contract that spells out to the the letter what will happen - to include language making them agree to not use cracked or split boards, cedar rails, and galvanized nails/staples.
I wish that my husband would be open to going to small claims court on this matter, but he figures it's a lesson learned and that we just need to warn all our neighbors and friends about using this company. As an aside, I have pictures of the previous fence and all the issues there were with the materials AND pictures of the fence that is now standing. I would be MORE than happy to send those pictures in to whomever runs Angie's List so prospective clients can see the type of work we got from this company. Or, if you want to see them, contact Angie's List and see if they will put you in contact with me.
