"The employees at Wongs were friendly and helpful when I went in to pick out my counter-tops. I took in my measurements and they were able to give me an estimate" on the spot. I did some shopping around and just could not beat their value. I scheduled the install. The two man crew showed up on time. They were polite, fast, efficient, and did a beautiful job. I get tons of comments on how great the granite looks. I will definitely use Wongs again.

"All work done was awesome!
was a pleasure to deal with as were his installers and his counter removal helper. He was very careful to keep" my wallpaper intact and suggested having the quartz go up over my old window sill which was a great idea.
was here for the entire removal and installation making sure that everything was done perfectly. He was professional, punctual, helpful, and left everything clean. As a bonus, he even removed my old vertical blinds from the kitchen window for me. I have never dealt with someone who cares about his customers and his work as much as
does. I am so very pleased with how everything was done, and I highly recommend him!!!

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

Countertop Installation reviews in Scranton

Classic was recommended by our designer. We found their inventory of granite to be very good at reasonable prices. They were prompt for the template and removal and install of the counter top. Their counter top install team are excellent craftsman at their trade and efficient users of time, very neat and clean up after themselves.. Where we ran into a problem with Classic was the re-connection of our plumbing after the install. The counter top team left at approximately 3:15 pm on Monday. They said the plumber would be by to take care of re-connecting the plumbing that afternoon. Unfortunately, he never showed up. I called the next morning and they had no idea what had happened. After my initial call, I was contacted and promised the "plumber" would be by after 4 pm on Tuesday to hook things back up. At 3:27 pm we received a call from Classic saying their "plumber" would be delayed until after 6 pm and that he would call when he was 30 minutes out. At 6:24 pm I called Classic to see where he was. I was surprised they answered the phone, but they did. Their rep got the "plumber" on the phone and he said he was tied up at an earlier appointment and might not be able to come until after 8 pm. I told the rep, that he could come the next morning at 9 am. I was told after being without water in the kitchen for 28 hours that things didn't work that way, he had appointments they would do their "best". Approximately 35 minutes later I received a call from the "plumber". He said he would be here in 15 minutes or so. He arrived about 7:15 pm. In talking with him I found out he wasn't a "plumber" after all, but the Service Manager. After about an hour he had everything re-connected and we tested and observed for leaks, which did seem to occur. He was then on his way and we could finally put things back together. So we started at 9:15 am on Monday morning and it took until approximately 8:15 pm Tuesday for things to be back to normal. The lesson I learned from this was they are great at granite, lousy at making sure they customer is whole when they finish, and they might answer the phone if you call after they close.
They sell good quality granite and their technicians associated with that part of the business are really great! I will consider them next time to supply the granite, but since the "plumber" that works for them really isn't a plumber, but a Service Manager, won't consider them for a second shot at plumbing work.

Appointment was to have been on a Wednesday (earlier this week), however
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
called and asked if it would be okay if we could move it up to Monday (2 days earlier.) I was pleased and proceeded with the appointment. Measure appointment went well, and the guy said it would take approximately two days for the quote to be sent to me (I provided my email address). After he left, I sent
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
a text to thank him for sending someone out earlier. We then exchanged more info via texts in regard to the slab/granite selection, and the name of a place where I could go and view the slabs locally if I could not make it out to
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
(out of my way and I am not good with directions) - another words, I was given two options of how/where I wanted to make the granite selection. I stated that I thought it would be best for me to make the selection in person rather than relying on pictures, I then asked where he suggested I go to view the slab , he then provided the information (company name, address, etc). My understanding was that if I chose one of
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
's slabs it would be cheaper however if I elected to pick a slab from the other source (granite supplier) it would cost more (understandably). I then sent another text to ask for an idea (approximation) as to how much more it would cost if I did not pick one of
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
's slabs.
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
quickly responded and said that he would let me know the difference. I then sent another message and stated "OK please let me know what the difference would be ....." The communication back and forth was done on the same day as the measurement (Monday). Wednesday - about 48 hours later, I sent a friendly follow up text message to
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. I asked for an estimated price (if I were to go to the granite supplier and pick the slab there rather than his location). I also stated that I had someone else come to my home earlier that morning (Wednesday) and stated that they already gave me a price however I was still waiting on his so that I could then make a decision. Well it is now Friday and I never received a response (email, phone, text) from

or anyone at all from
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
!!! They could have at least given me a courtesy of declining my project or let me know that they were working on it, etc. - very unprofessional , Looks like they do not need my business, perhaps they are too overloaded & that is why I took my business elsewhere!

was great to work with! The project was to remove old counters from my parent's kitchen and install new laminate tops.
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
's estimate was a very fair price and he was very good about communicating his schedule to we could arrange for the work to be done while my mom wasn't there (the noise and mess stresses her out!) My dad is a retired contractor, so he is very picky about everything.
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
accommodated all of my dad's requests and we were all very pleased with the end result. The project took only two days! A very professional and reliable contractor. I would definitely use

The installers did a great job, were punctual and very professional. Scheduling the appointment took quite a bit of time as well as a couple of date changes. However, the work was done and it looks great.

Provider measured all countertops and took my email information and told me he would email the estimate to me. He never did. All other contractors that I contacted got the estimates to me within 24 hours. After waiting a week for

I woke up giddy with excitement this morning knowing I was going to be rolling out home made biscuits on my new countertops!
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew made the process unbelievably easy.
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
came to my home where we discussed the options available, and he professionally made suggestions and such. After deciding what I wanted,
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
took care of everything. I even got to go to the granite company and choose the exact slab that I wanted. We scheduled the installation day, and I left for work in the morning and came home to a completely new countertop and backsplash with the only thing needing to be done was grouting the backsplash as the tile had to sit overnight. The tile installer came the next morning and finished up the job in no time. In literally 28 hours, my kitchen was transformed, and I LOVE it!! My friends who came over that evening were surprised at how quickly it was completed.
There was an issue with an outlet not working, which I discovered the next day. I contacted
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
, and he had his electrician out the next day (on a Sunday, no less), and he had it working in 10 minutes, all the while apologizing for any problem it may have caused.
I would recommend
Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
to anyone and everyone. He and his crew are the best you'll find!

Scranton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
recently completed the installation of granite shower and counter top/sink and new toilets in both my
bathrooms. They did a beautiful job, always arrived on time worked steady all the time they were at my house. The workers were all very nice, friendly they knew their job and performed in a professional manner. They always kept me informed of what they were doing and answered any questions I had. They made sure to verify where I wanted the trim, shower stool and grab bars. They cleaned up every day and left it clean when the job was complete. I am very pleased with the results and I would not hesitate to use them again and also highly recommend them to others.
It was a good experience from beginning to end. From the initial meeting to the completion of the job several days earlier than originally planned for.
