Reviews for Scranton Carpet Installers

"I was fixing up an old house to sell, that had been beaten up by renters. It needed new flooring in every room, with the old, beat carpet and linoleum removed first. Serj at A&S was easy to deal with, arrived on time to measure stuff and gave me a competitive bid later that day, in writing. I went to his store to pick out the flooring and we settled on mostly high quality laminate and some vinyl for baths, etc. He has a huge selection from which to choose. I kept changing my mind about the flooring, almost to the last minute, and he was very flexible about that. We ended up with exactly the flooring we wanted with nice transitions between rooms. The installers hauled away the old material, were fast, and did a great job, and the house sold quickly, with the new flooring being a key feature.

"I was looking for a good quality but affordable replacement for the 20+ year old carpet in my home. The hardest part of working with
is finding their store. They are in an industrial area and it's not easy to find, but well worth the effort.
Once you get to the store they have a ton of choices, but after having explained what I was looking for they helped narrow down the choices quickly. They offered a wide variety of samples and we also looked at the in stock carpet selections. I have been searching for a while and visited many carpet and home stores. The salesman was very knowledgeable and far more experienced than the big home improvement store employees. We reviewed several great options for the carpet and pads and I was finished within 30 to 40 minutes of entering the store. The carpet I chose was in stock, but a very good quality at a great price.
They were very flexible with my schedule in both the on-site measure and installation. I was very pleased during the home visit, I discussed moving furniture. The installation charge included everything. I have a lot of heavy antiques and there were no
charges such as furniture moving, carpet removal/disposal etc. The big home improvement stores wouldn't commit to a total and everything was an extra charge.
The installers were very professional, courteous and thorough. I was home and I know where the seams are and I can barely see them. I had a friend try to find them and couldn't see the seams. The seams were also well placed. My previous carpet was laid with a seam that was right in a high traffic spot and you could always see the seam. The installers took careful attention with my furniture and left everything spotless at the end of the day.
To sum up, I would use
for all my flooring options. They were professional, knowledgeable and affordable. I had approximately 900 square feet of very good quality carpet with an eight pound thick pad installed for $ 2700.00

"We called to get the advertised 49.95 air duct cleaning. After they arrived the estimate was over 1400. We ended up just getting the main areas done for 475 which was still a far cry from 49.95. Once they started the one guy shows us a picture of our blower motor and how terribly clogged it is and says his manager is authorizing him to offer us to clean it for an additional 183. We declined and decided to clean it ourselves. When we pulled the blower motor out the next day, it was not the blower he took a picture of! Now we aren't even sure if they cleaned the ducts or not.
"I purchased very expensive Mohawk carpet from this merchant after being told that Mohawk covers anything and everything that could happen to the carpet. I was never provided with a warranty so I did not know of any exclusions to the warranty. The reason I paid so much for this particular carpet is because of the warranty I was told it came with. The installation was shoddy at best and there was a distinct and obvious seam in the middle of the room that began to

and separate and on one half of the room, the carpet was not even to the wall. They had cut the carpet too short and instead of cutting a new piece they told me that they would stretch the carpet and fix the seam. This did not work and to this date I have not been able to get someone back out to fix the problem. I was told that "

" went out of business, yet the phone number is the same, the address is the same and the employees are the same but now working for a company called "Great Lakes Carpet". Mohawk did not stand behind their warranty and

did nothing to assist, other than argue about who was supposed to file the claim and then file a claim that was not even accurate. I am now replacing carpet in that room less than 2 years since it was purchased.
"We have been in tight time crunch, buying carpet 2 weeks before move in day. Carpet was on special order sent from mill in GA. There was some uncertainty related to when carpet arrives and if they will be able to install it before the move. The carpet arrived quickly, however there were some issues with scheduling the install, during initial call from ACS to schedule the install I have been told that they could not schedule that week, so I had to call Home Depot and demand promised furniture move out/in service. However, several minutes after that, I have received a call from ACS manager who was able to schedule the install one day ahead of the move in. Installers arrived on time and did a good job. Carpet looks beautiful.
"Ed is amazing! I contacted him through Angie's List on Friday afternoon (yesterday). He responded that evening with the answers to my questions, and a contact number so we could speak about it as well if I needed to. I called him Saturday morning and he arrived at my house that same afternoon. This still amazes me. I didn't expect him to be available to help me until next week. Same day service is almost unheard of today. After looking at my carpets he provided a fair bid, and upon our agreement he began working immediately. He moved furniture in order to conduct his work and put it back when finished. My children were curious about his work and he had no problem with them watching. He answered all their questions. He was extremely friendly and professional. One of my closet doors fell off the track while he was working, and he repaired that for me too. He did that on his on fruition. I didn't expect him to do that for me or ask him. He finished the job in about an hour and a half. The carpets are amazing! They look brand new. I am very pleased with my experience with him and the job he did. I will definitely use him in the future when I need flooring repair or installation. I highly recommend him.
"Went so well. The salesman came out during the job and helped me by bringing two tables from the garage so I could empty my closets. I would say you would be smart to use their service. They are very caring about the workmen they choose to hire.
"The guys did a good job, very clean and efficient. I only hired them to do the actual carpet stretching. I (with family help) moved out all the furniture before they came, and put it back after they left. They would have moved it, but the price was too high for me.
"The team was very quick and professional--they completed two rooms in about two hours. There is a seam in one room but it doesn't show at all (I'm actually not sure which side it is on). They left everything clean and asked me if I wanted the leftover pieces before removing them.
The showroom has a very big selection--our only complaint is that you have to work with a specific salesperson, and the person we started working with wasn't there the second time we went in, so we had to do some stuff by phone/email. It all worked out and everything was pretty easy--they were able to take payment over the phone and scheduled the installation at our convenience.
"Project took over one month from purchase to final installation. Subcontractor - Precision Counter - botched installation. Used sink template to measure but did not dry fit for sink fixtures. Cut hole and then realized the medicine cabinet doors hit fixtures - and only because I checked before they left! . Moved sink as much as possible but doors still hit. Did not seem to care. I had to bring in another contractor to fix the problem by setting fixture off center and shaving down doors - I still only have a 1/16 inch clearance. Wrote a letter of complaint to

and never heard back. Used them in the first place to save money but the turn around time and customer service are so below par that it wasn't worth the savings. Never want to see installers in my home again. Very disappointed!
