"From the moment we contacted Dr via e-mail from overseas to the day we set foot in his office, the whole team there has been absolutely wonderful." The staff were very friendly and positive. The team has events for the patients like free ice cream day and they have a program that encourages the patients to take an active role in their orthodontic care-- pretty amazing. The team sat down with us from day one and discussed the finances which were reasonable. Our son can go in at any time and get things he needs for his braces. They've also gotten us in for last minute appointments when something moved or came off. I've talked to others about orthodontics and have met many people who are not pleased with their provider, but anyone I've talked to who has Dr has been extremely pleased. I wish his office did regular dental care and not just ortho so I could have my whole family use him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

"****Sorry this review is so long, but I wanted to I include all of the details. CONDENSED VERSION--this office ignored the fact that I have insurance and had me" finance procedures that my insurance would have covered*** I was looking for a new dentist for my daughter. She has insurance through her father's job, I am the custodial parent. I verified with her father's insurance that this was an accepted provider. I went into this dentist's office weeks before our appointment (I physically stopped in) because I had to designate them as the PCP before the insurance would let me make an appointment for my daughter. So the PCP designation was done in the office while I was standing right there listening to the office person make the phone call. I said all of that to say that THEY HAD MY INSURANCE INFORMATION, because that is a very important part of this review. Our appointment was set for a couple of weeks later. On the morning of our appointment, the office was pretty busy. This may be because they see both children and adults. We waited maybe 15 minutes or so to be seen. When my daughter was called back, they took her to the standing X- machine. That machine wasn't working, so the assistant took us to a room and did the xrays with a hand-held machine. Then we waited to see the dentist. The dentist was nice. He shook my hand, but he didn't introduce himself to me or to my daughter. The assistant didn't introduce herself either. But he looked at the xrays that had been taken and took a quick look into my daughter's mouth. He took less than 10 minutes with her. He told me my daughter had 2 huge cavities in 2 of her baby teeth and they needed to be pulled because since they were baby teeth, it wouldn't make sense to fill the cavities. This was no surprise, because I already knew that my daughter needed pretty extensive dental work, that's the whole reason I brought her in. The dentist said he was done & for us to go upfront to schedule the extractions. That was it, no cleaning, no free toothbrush, no cool stickers or -free lollipop for my daughter. My daughter has cavities, so she certainly does not need a lollipop, but the point is that all other dentists I've seen give kids stickers or toothbrushes or some kind of reward, and this office didn't give anything. When I went up to the front, the office assistant said that their specialist comes in once a week on Wednesdays, and the specialist is who does extractions, fillings, etc. She set me an appointment to see the specialist the following Wednesday. She told me the 2 extractions would cost $3000, but with my insurance I would only be responsible for about $1000. I did not have $1000 to pay for the procedure so the office assistant told me I could apply for financing, which of course I did. I was approved for the financing and my daughter and I left. When I got home, I called my daughter's father to let him know how the appointment went, what work our daughter needed done, and how much they told me it would cost. My daughter's father immediately told me that the quotes I was given for the cost of these services was wrong. He pulled up a copy of his insurance benefits and also emailed me a copy. 2 extractions should have only cost me about $65 with the insurance, so them telling me I would have to pay $1k was just flat out wrong. I called the dentist's office back 3 times that same day to try to talk to someone about the incorrect information I was given. I was told someone would call me back by 5:00p that day, but no one did. I went back to their office the next morning. I spoke with the doctor and 2 office assistants. They knew who I was, and apparently were aware of their mistake, because they told me that they were returning the $1k financing money I applied for back to the finance company. I asked them how had they verified my insurance information incorrectly. The office assistant told me, kind of sheepishly, that first appointments are free, so they didn't look at my insurance. This made me LIVID, because they had to have my insurance information before I could even make an appointment!!! And they didn't even look at it!! They didn't even bother to call my insurance company to verify my coverage, didn't even check my file to see if I had any coverage, they just immediately pushed the financing option. So, even though I had insurance to pay for my daughter's services, they didn't even bother to look at it. They treated me like an uninsured patient and had me apply for financing THAT I DIDN'T EVEN NEED. They make more money this way, because the finance company pays them upfront in a lump sum when you're approved for the financing. So, they basically get off -free. They sent the money back to the finance company and offered me a lame, unenthusiastic apologize. Meanwhile, I now have derogatory information on my credit report THAT I CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO FIX or REMOVE IT!!!! They basically scammed me, and DID NOT do their job properly. I am looking into what further action I can take against this company.

I am familiar witht he ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers across the country, in particluar, the one in Overland Park, KS.  They are a "one stop" implant center.  The doctors there are at the top of their field, and an advantage is that you have all of the specialists that will be working with you in the same place.  That would have to make communication easier between doctors.  They usually offer seminars for patients and I think, offer free consultations, which is always worthwhile.

If you chose to go the other way, some Prosthodontists will place and restore the implants themselves. In other cases, an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist will place the implant and a Prosthodontist or General Dentist restores it.   Fees can vary quite a bit from office to office and with the different options for restorative materials.  Some offer free consultations, for others, they charge a fee that might be applied to any future treatment in some cases.

The first step is to schedule a few consultations with different providers, which it sounds like you've already done.

The most important factors when deciding which practitioner to work with:
.1.  You should feel comfortable asking your doctor any questions so that you have a good understanding of the procedure itself, healing time and long-terem outcome, and possible complications.  Write down a list of questions and take them with you to the consultation.

2.  Ask about the experience of the practitioner. How many similiar procedures have they completed?  Have they had any major complications with any cases?  Ask to see photos if possible.

3..Figure out if it works out better for your schedule, to go to a "one stop" provider or to separate providers for the placement and the restoration of the implants.

4. Follow your instincts.  If you feel rushed, didn't get direct answers to your questions, didn't communicate well or had any other negative feelings, this probably isn't the doctor for you.

5. Consider insurance coverage and financing options.  If your dental plan covers implants and it is important to you to use a preferred provider, you will want to check your list.  Many times, insurance does not cover implants, or at least not all of the steps.  You may want to inquire about payment and financing options.

I hope this at least helps you feel a little less confused and a little more directed. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of further help.

Dear jacknd... I was very sad to hear about the problem you had with your dentures, but not surprised. The fabrication of dentures is actually a complex treatment, and requires many steps to create comfortable, functional dentures. That is why well made dentures are usually expensive. It is not always true that 'you get what you pay for', but certainly, if dentures are inexpensive, that means that many critical steps in the treatment are omitted to reduce cost. Most people are unaware that the most expensive part of making dentures is the time that the doctor spends working on them. A denturist is a techincian, not a doctor. They can make moulds and set teeth in plastic, but they are unqualified to deal with the complexities of muscular function, and proper esthetics. To complicate things further, modern dental schools are spending much less time educating doctors about how to make dentures, since dentures are becoming a less common treatment. The emphasis is now on saving teeth. I would recomend that if you seek further treatment, you seek a dentist who went to dental school no later than the 1970's (like me). We spent a long time perfecting our denture skils when I was attending  University of Oregon Dental School. All the best, Dr. Stern (Philadelphia, PA)

Orthodonture reviews in Lititz

Dr. and his staff are the friendliest group. From the moment you walk in until the moment you walk out you feel welcomed and appreciated. Both of my children have had their braces evaluated applied and maintained by Dr. and his staff. My son told me the assistant did s great job and he didn't feel ...More any discomfort when she made his adjustment. Happy kid happy mom.

As with all appointments the team working at was incredible.

Where normally the physician or doctor would be reviewed, this is for all persons at because the entire team there at all times went out of their way to make every visit helpful, efficient, fun and personal. Their attitude and ...More professionalism were second to none, and the care give was top notch, in all honesty any profession could learn from the caliber and dedication, attentiveness to the patient and quality of work. This group is absolutely amazing from the persons at the front desk to the physicians doing the work. We thank this team for making this difficult time with braces an amazing experience in care and quality, thank you.

The office is cute and clean. The waiting room isn't super comfortable, but I didn't have to wait long. The people are super nice and know what they are doing. I had some cavities worked on and had to go back to have some of the fillings filed down to make my bite correct, but that is pretty normal. My husband and my daughter go there too.
- Linda W.

We arrived a few minutes late for an early morning appointment. She took the kids back right away. We were in and out in a few minutes. She and the office staff are friendly and efficient and care about my time being valuable. They are also happy to work with us if any issues arise.

While my teeth did not need significant movement, I had wanted to do this for a couple of years. Dr. and I planned the work together. He personally talked me through what he would do as well as the cost (Invisalign and post treatment retainers and options). I felt when I went in for my scan, as well as my buttons, first tray ...More through my last tray, I knew what to expect. I am now done with my trays and waiting for my retainer to come in. I am very pleased with the results and love my smile even more!
- Deborah K.

To receive new retainers, you normally have to make an appointment with your orthodontist, pull your child from school, and sit in the doctor's waiting room for far too long. After gagging on some gooey paste (for a mold of your teeth) you make another appointment to come back and get the new retainers. For me the cost was $250 per retainer! That's ...More just too much.

So when my daughter lost her retainers a second time I about had a heart attack! That's when I turned to the internet. When I found Clear Retain I was excited, but pretty skeptical at the same time because it seemed too good to be true. A new retainer for only $89.00? I don't know. So I gave them a call. I was even less impressed because they didn't even answer my call! I was moving on. However, 5 minutes later they did called back. I spoke with and he did a great job answering all my questions and relieving most of my doubts. So I placed an order.

Two days later I received their "impression kit". We watched the tutorial video and followed the written instructions. It was fairly easy to take the molds of my daughters teeth (which surprised me, I thought it would be more difficult). We then shipped back the molds and one week later we had our new retainers! Overall I was impressed. I think they could maybe be more responsive when answering their phones, but the service is really great. Bottom line I received new retainers for my daughter and it didn't break the bank! So I saved a good chunk of money, didn't have to pull my daughter from school, and was able to do everything from home. I definitely recommend these guys to anyone who needs new retainers.
- Dana J.

This office is astounding. Thoroughly professional, but warm and friendly. Dr. has the best "chairside manner" of anybody I've ever been to. His work was precise and very effective. The treatment took several years, as he told me it would, as older teeth move much more slowly. I had extractions, it was quite ...More involved. In the end, he gave me a great smile! I really appreciated his putting in "permanent retainers" behind the front teeth on both top and bottom, as that has protected all his work and kept the smile, even after other dental work years later. I highly recommend him for adult or kids--I saw his manner with both kids and parents and he is very, very skilled at relating to both pre-teens and teens. (I was an educator so I know the fine point of building these relationships.) He got amazing cooperation out of these young people. Such an excellent guy, and so supportive of his staff that they do excellent, well coordinated work together. By the way, I never give ratings that are all A's; but for Dr. and his staff, it's absolutely called for.

I needed a retainer for my bottom teeth and my experience at the office was great. The staff was nice and the dental assistant and dentist did a great job.
