"It was a good-sized, complicated job with lots of details. One of our top priorities was working with a contractor who we liked and trusted. We chose to work with"
when he worked for a different company. We solicited about 7-8 bids for the job and
's was somewhere in the middle. One of the deciding factors, for sure, was
's personality and responsiveness. This is very important -- you want to work with to someone who is pleasant, trustworthy and someone who returns your calls without delay. My wife and I had just purchased the house and were learning as we went about the remodeling we wanted done.
was very patient and helped us save money where possible, without cutting corners on quality. He's very friendly and easy to work with, and was very responsive when we had questions or concerns. He's very knowledgeable about remodeling. The work was first rate. His subcontractors all did fine work, and they were pleasant. We were not living in the house at the time, but we regularly met with
to discuss the work. All the work ended up taking longer than we had hoped, but it was understandable -- we kept adding more small projects and, of course, they found some surprises that needed to be addressed once the walls were opened up. Overall, we were very happy with the work and were please to work with
, and have recommended him to numerous friends.

"He completed the work on our island perfectly. He replaced the spindles and post, but didn't finish the work as some paint needs to be removed and some poly" needs to be sanded down on the handrail. The entryway was done and we are happy with the finished product. There are only minor critiques on the finish work, probably won't grade him an A, but a solid B. It took him quite some time to complete this work. After finishing the entryway he set to work on our custom bench, and we have not seen him since. He has been primarily unresponsive to text or email and at this point we will probably be taking him to court to reclaim funds. He never completed the custom bench or rebuilt the bookshelves (built-ins). On balance, the sloppiness on the spindles/post and the decent job on the entryway work lead me to grade him at a C for the work completed. I should note that his Facebook website over represents the work completed. In our case, he posted pictures of our island and exaggerated the work completed. Similar story with our staircase work. I think he has potential but clearly lacks sound business ethics.

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

I demolished my kitchen, living room and entry way to have all of these rooms rebuilt.
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
came recommended so I had him look at my home before I purchased it to get an idea of cost and creative remodel options. Once I moved in, demo began in kitchen and dining area.
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
put in new floors after helping me select flooring, then we punched out the kitchen ceiling and go rid of fluorescent lighting.
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
drywalled new ceiling, installed lights, and made drywall repairs in preparation for new cabinets, appliances, sink, faucet and countertops. Once all of that was installed, we began work on living room by tearing out old bookcases, and replacing drywall. New trim, handrails, book case shelves, and fireplace mantle were all manufactured by

using Colorado's beetle

laid a new tile floor, drywalled, new trim and installed a new door. He also replaced several light fixtures with new ones in the house. Next up will be my bathrooms and lofted railings, and my outdoor deck.

was always doing all this other stuff for me... tightening something, helping with a jammed window, etc. Never nickel and dimed me for it.

and his team of subcontractors were very professional and usually on time. I thought they did a good job. But I just had a problem with my wine cooler, which they had installed, less than 2 years ago. I tried calling owner(
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
) and he would not return my phone call. I thought they did a good job until I needed to have Wine cooler serviced. We could not get wine cooler out from under counter. They just put in hole, the flooring under was 3/8 in lower than the tile in front of it. I left message for owner
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
to call me, I had a problem, he never called me back. I guess it was take the money and run. The only way to get wine cooler out was to cut up a good fairly new( 2 years old) wine cooler. I am very disappointed. I had to purchase a new wine cooler and have a contractor do it right, this time. making the flooring even before installation. Because due to the levelers in back we could not get out from under cabinets with out ruining the wine cooler. So in the long run, they cost me over $1,000 to fix what they could have doen when they did the job for less than $25.

The quote they later provided me for dry rot wood repair was too high, which is fine. But the drywall around the roof access panel was damaged. The person who came to my place,
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
, said that the company would repair it. He said if I went ahead with the work, they could take care of it in one job, or if not, it could be a separate job. I have reached out to

with the company more than five times. And every time they told me that they would get

back to me. Only today, I got in touch with
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
, and he said the company would not repair it, he would. He then told me it would be delayed a week and a half, so at this point it's hard for me to believe anything the company is saying.

We are very pleased with the outcome on our bathroom. We will certainly use this company again. We were also pleased about the ability of this contractor to notice things that also needed fixing and do them skillfully.

was very timely and completed the installation of the paneling on the bar area. He matched the stain so the new area would match the kitchen cabinets. It was a perfect job. He cleaned up after he had completed the work. Job well done.

It was incredible! Our first meeting was over the telephone. There were a few ideas I wanted share about the overall look and size of the bed. A queen size bed made of colorful distressed wood with a large head board.

At our next meeting,
Johnstown General Contractors Provider Name Locked
had renderings prepared from the few thoughts I shared over the phone. I was amazed at how he captured my imagination. It was perfect! We kept in touch throughout the construction.

When he delivered my bed, I could not wait for him to unwrap it from its packing blankets. It was breathtaking! There was such a precise attention to detail. Just dreamy!

I am grateful to have a one-of-a-kind bed. A piece of furniture that expresses my own unique style. Completely built to suit!

Thank you, REclUSE!!!!!!
