"The installation of my carpet was done by
Flooring LLC for
. The work on my stairway was so badly done that it has" to be completely replaced and there was considerable damage to walls that I had just had painted, including a couple of deep gashes. I am very sorry I did not do more research before I hired
. My overall experience was so disappointing that I am now questioning everything about the company, including the quality of the carpet. And in light of information which, regrettably, I read after-the-fact I suspect that I paid much more than I would have had I hired someone else. Because I take MY responsibilities seriously I will pay for the work when I get the bill, but with a great deal of reservation. I was told the work would take several hours and, because I was in the way, I was encouraged to leave while the carpet was being installed. When I came back, after about five hours, the head of the the installation crew was also returning to haul away trash from the job. At that point there was still some installation work, and a lot of clean up, to do. I assumed the boss would be back for the promised walk through when the job had been completed but he, and two of the four workers, left soon thereafter and did not return. The remaining two workers seemed surprised that they were expected to replace the furniture that had been moved. I had to essentially walk them through replacing all the furniture, doors a screen they had removed. They said they could not replace the closet doors, so that was not done. I showed the worst wall damage to one of the installers and asked about having it repaired. He emailed a photo to his boss, and I also sent a lengthy email to him, but I never heard from him. I had to do a LOT of cleanup after they left. There was carpet dust and carpet debris everywhere, including on my furniture. I even found a piece of my bed frame when I removed an HVAC vent to clean out the carpet debris. I also learned when I tried, unsuccessfully, to hook my television back up that the cable wire had been damaged so a cable person had to come the next day and replace it. All-in-all a very unprofessional job. When I did not hear back from the installer, I tried contacting my sales person but she said she couldn't help and told me to call the 800 number. I called and explained the situation and was told someone would get back to me within 2-4 days. I said that was unacceptable and that I was considering withholding payment. So they said someone would call within two hours. Three hours later I called again and, after being on hold for 20 minutes, went through the whole thing again. I was put on hold two more times while they tried to contact someone who could help. There was no response so I was told they would have to call me back. It was suggested that I just email some photos of the damage but I said I wanted to talk to someone who could address my issues. Several hours later, the third person I talked to was finally able to set up an appointment for an installer to come inspect the work. The person who came to do the inspection agreed that the work on the stairway was unprofessional and that the walls needed to be repaired, but he couldn't tell me when. He also managed to easily replace one of the 'un-replaceable' closet doors. I am now waiting for a call to set up a date and time for the stairs to be re-done and the walls repaired. I had to pay the entire amount before work began (which I will never do again), but I never received a receipt for my payment nor did I receive any warranty information for the carpet. I noted this when I called and was told both would be mailed to me within 15 days, later amended to 7 days when I pointed out that that time frame was ridiculous. I don't know if
Flooring works exclusively for
, or if they are an independent contractor but I would never hire them, or
, again. Nor can I, in good conscience, recommend that anyone else do so.

Wood or tile floors are good in some rooms, but most homeowners prefer to install carpeting in living rooms and family rooms, especially when children are small. Here are tips on the types of carpeting available and how to pick the right one for your home.

Most  reputable carpet stores should be able to help you, they know what is available. and should be able to find a good carpet for a good price. sometlmes they will buy overruns that are a good value. Also,   make sure they do use a power-streacher when they install the carpet! Pat All Carpet Repair
?

Carpet with pad purchase cost $10-20 for really economy cheap stuff, $20-30 for normal brands, and $30-50/SY (square yard) for high-end carpet, to $100 or more for custom or gold thread and such.

Installation cost does not change much depending on what varpet is installed - generally about $10-20/SY.

So, for normal medium-range carpet I would assume $30-50/SY.

This process took 5 days and was much better than I could have imagined. The sanding system used included a vacuum so that the dust left in my house was very minimal. Very professional people- from the first phone call through the entire process. I will use them again because of that.

Not only was the installation on my stairway so unprofessional that it has to be completely re-done but there was considerable damage to walls that I had just had painted, including a couple of deep gashes.
Because I was in the way, I left the installers alone for about 5 hours. At the same time that I came back, the head of the company returned to haul away the trash left from the job. At that point there was still some work, and a lot of clean up, to do. The remaining two workers seemed surprised that they were expected to replace the furniture that had moved and tried to leave a couple of times before the work was done. I had to walk them through replacing furniture, screens and closet doors. They had a couple of excuses as to why they could not replace the closet doors so that was not done. I pointed out the worst gash in the wall to one of them and asked about having it repaired. He emailed a photo to his boss, and I also sent a lengthy email to him, but I never heard back. I had to do a LOT of cleanup after they left. There was carpet debris and carpet dust everywhere. I even found a piece of my bed frame in the HVAC vent under the bedroom floor. We contacted
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
as they were highly recommended here on Angie's List.
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
was our flooring consultant and he came to our house and did all the measuring. He is so knowledgable and immediately catered to our needs. We were initially interested in hardwoods on both levels of our home. The upstairs was all carpet and we later changed our minds to recarpet the upstairs. We discussed our flooring needs with
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
and expressed to him that we were interested in 'value' as we are budget conscious as we just moved into our home.
At first we were 'dead set' on 3/4 inch hardwood. We didn't want anything else.
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
explained to us the major differences between 3/4 inch hardwood and 'engineered' hardwood. The biggest difference being how 'engineered' hardwood has many perpendicular placed layers of base material that withstand the many weather variations that occur, especially in southern Pennsylvania. To us, 'engineered' hardwood was the right choice for so many reasons.
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
took all our measurements and set an appointment to come by the store to make selections and work up a price.
We dropped by the store in
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
was waiting for us with different levels of hardwood floors already picked out for us.
We decided on
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
Acaia and a nice value mid grade carpet for the upstairs.
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
took his time working on pricing. We were able to save some money by paying cash. After
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
presented his estimate we informed him that we had an appointment with a competitor the very next day. There was no 'hard sell' at all. We continued to discuss the job and he bragged about the quality workmanship his installers provide. He mentioned their names and that he's friends with them, etc.
We decided on
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
that same day as we felt comfortable with the service
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
was providing us, the installers would provide and the pricing.
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
arrived to install our flooring about 10 business days later. They tore out the entire first floor which included two different kinds of hardwoods, vinyl and carpet. It seemed like the old flooring was installed piecemeal and didn't flow at all. There were also many squeaks as you walked across it. We are 'over the top' happy with their installation of the hardwoods. The entire first level now flows evenly without any squeaks. They are true craftsman!
The upstairs carpet and stairs were also installed in a professional manner.
If you're looking for a great value in a flooring investment don't hesitate to contact
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
. We were glad we did!

did a great job! He arrived to perform the job as promised and was friendly and efficient as he completed the work. In less than 2 hours he repaired problem carpet that had been bothering me for years. I would definitely hire him again and most certainly recommend his services to a friend.

Pros: section of material available.

Cons: Will change their story once you order materials for the job.
1) we have the product you want then will call you to come in and select something else because it's no longer available.
2) we can install the flooring the way you want, then tell you something else when it arrives.
3) When you have question that can't answer because it's a question for the subcontractor.
4) When you ask to speak about your job they say they worked hard for you and why do you complain so much.
5) When you speak with the owner he will say that they did the best and that you have just have problems and
will hang up on you.
I wouldn't recommend this company for the average consumer. They have you by the wallet and won't let go. Be cautious
when you work with this company.

I first called
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
to repair carpet damage my dog had done prior to renting out our home. He was able to accommodate our schedules and even offered to come out the next day. He and his assistant worked quickly and got the job done well. The three places he repaired looked brand new with no sign of repair.

I didn't think I would have to call
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
so soon for my new house but I am glad I knew about his service. We had some damage with bleach on our brand new carpet at our new house a few weeks later.
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
again accommodated our schedule and came out immediately to fix all of the damage. Again, they worked quickly and everything looks brand new again! I call him a carpet magician. I am grateful he was able to make our brand new carpet look new again. I will continue to use
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
for my carpet repair needs (hopefully not too soon). He provides high quality work at an affordable cost. I highly recommend him.

Finally, a contractor that cares! Rich really cares. He was always professional, explained our choices, and the differences between them. He gave us the knowledge to choose correctly. He was always punctual. He and his crew did a first-rate job, even bringing in more men so he could turn a 2-day job into a single day. He returned our furniture and belongings to their proper places. Before he left, he made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. Most importantly, he was there from start to finish to supervise the job, rare these days. I would recommend him to anyone!

Smooth and painless process to replace carpet in master bedroom before moving into new home. I made one phone call instead of trying to hunt someone down to help me at a big box store. My wife and I met with
Huntingdon Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
and within days of that meeting we had our new carpet. Great experience all around and cost was considerably less than those stores you can never find help in.
