scheduled a convenient time with us to replace our water heater. He gave us a price ahead of time for his services and did not upcharge for anything. He arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgeable, as well as friendly. He was very detailed in explaining everything and even gave advice on other plumbing topics where we had concerns. The expense of our particular water heater was more than the average electric or gas water heater because we had the power vent model. Our old water heater was a State brand and we were very satisfied as it lasted us for 12 years, and he replaced it with a new State model, so we were very satisfied with that as well.
We found out he also services furnaces and air conditioning so we will also request his services for them when we need them because we feel he is reliable, knowledgeable and professional. We would recommend him to anyone looking for the services he provides.

Horrible! All other reviewers must be
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's friends and family, or spoon-fed, or my experience is going to be beginning of many more from others who will have similar contradictions between his work and the City code - as my experience with this rude and unprofessional gentlemen is simply horrible!
Even after generously paying him $900 plus tips for a job where he invoiced only $850, even after paying him promptly on the spot on other three jobs with his outrageous prices that he claims to be due his licensed certified plumber status when he always do the job the right way - later when the water authority from Municipal Authority of
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
County came - they found out to be ALL WRONG -
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's work as per the water authority was ALL WRONG and not according to the City Code - water authority said being a licensed plumber
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
should have known better of how and where to install a water regulator in a water meter and to install a dual valve on the opposite side of the meter - as per the City of Greensburg code.
He did the entire work WRONG and when discovered by the water authority he immediately tried to hide his error by telling he tried to save me some money by doing it not according to the city code! Now water authority wants me to correct his error, for additional expense.
Despite being generously compensated for his work by paying him more than his invoice plus tips, he claimed I wanted to do it cheap!! After doing it the WRONG way in the eye of the City Code, he claimed he always do things right. Beware folks, simply beware! He may come and tell you million times that he is a licensed master plumber he always do the job the right way and then City may come to your door during inspection and point you out his errors as they did to me! Water authority could not believe his error, as it is in each and every drawing of the water authority that every licensed plumber should know!
He is also
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
rude in conversation and try to act like he knows what he is doing, when he certainly does not! He increases his work list when called, and add multiple items above what you wanted, and then scare you that if you don't do it then City will send fines, etc. and then do the work WRONG way for they City to notice!
After using multiple plumbers over the years for my five properties inn Greensburg, I must say that I have never ever experienced a bad plumber like him.
He also uses his friend to do work under the Table that is supposed to be done by a licensed plumber and then charges additional $50 per job to pay for his permit to the friend (according to his friend).
Needless to say, stay away from him and his
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
Van - what an irony of name! It is a shame that despite being a licensed plumber to follow certain code of ethics these folks constantly violate that ethics and do things violating the code that they know should be done correctly! Our construction industry cannot
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
with people like him!
Beware!

It was an awful experience. First the plumber,
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
, called, and said he need $200 more for material, but since the ceiling was open when the estimate was given, he should have know what was needed. Then the tenant called and said that he dropped his hammer on the tub and put a big chip in it and then he opened up the soil stack and dumped toilet water on the tenant's carpet. He didn't use any drop clothes on the carpet on in the tub. My husband went out to inspect and found that he had left it a mess, and didn't put the heating coils back in the ceiling. I called the office and expressed my dissatisfaction and emailed them pictures of the problems. The office manager,
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
said that she would have one of the managers meet at the property on Friday at 11 to discuss how to resolve the issue. I spoke with them in the am, and they weren't having a manager meet me, but just sending out the same plumber who did the damage. I told them I wanted someone there who could make financial decisions about the damage, not the plumber. My husband went to the property to wait, and they called him around noon, to tell him the plumber was on the way. They were told that we didn't want the plumber there, but someone in charge who could make decisions. They never sent anyone or called back as of this moment. They act they this is no big deal and don't really care. I understand that it is just? rental property, but my tenants expect the same respect that a homeowner would expect. I will not pay this bill until these items are resolved.

Our hot water heater seemed to be leaking a substantial amount of water which was discovered Thursday morning…Kind of an emergency.
My Mother asked me, "Well, who do we call?"
I responded, "Well, we probably made one of the biggest mistakes of our lives by calling Mr. Rooter back on December 24, 2011. We paid Mr. Rooter $20,267 for an improper diagnosis, unnecessary sewer line restoration options, and shoddy site post-construction restoration. Also, if there are issues with Mr. Rooter’s work in the future, you can be 100% certain that we can expect them not honor their warranty as they cannot even be bothered to honor or complete the terms of their initial contracts. Furthermore, we even have evidence that proves Mr. Rooter breached their contract and communication that proves that they lied to us and refused to make it right. Besides, during that nightmare, Mr. Rooter quoted us $1400 for a new, basic gas hot water heater when I inquired in December of 2011 before we realized we were being “taken to the cleaners”…taken advantage of…ripped off…scammed. Mom, I am 110% certain that the quality of the materials Mr. Rooter uses is low and that their
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
up is double to triple what an honest and reputable plumber is charging, who is still making a good living by the way. I continued, “Finding honest, upfront, and capable people to perform service work has become increasingly difficult…Comparable to finding a needle in a haystack; HOWEVER, I was impressed by the honesty, integrity, work ethic, and the field experience (A Licensed Master Plumber since 12/31/1930) of
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
& A/C’s owner,
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
, back on June 3, 2013 (See 6/4/2013 Angie’s List Review) and that is who I think we should call.”
We called
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
& A/C and left a message on their answering machine. Since
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
is the only one, along with his apprentice, who answers the service calls that come in, we were hoping that he would be available to evaluate and possibly address this urgent issue ASAP. Within approximately 1 1/2 hours, he returned my phone call and was on his way out to investigate the issue the same day.
When
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
arrived, he investigated and confirmed that the hot water heater was definitely the source of the profuse leaking as suspected.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
also inquired about the age of the water heater, which was unknown but estimated to be about 6-8 years old according to the former property owner’s declarations when the house was purchased in December of 2011.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
decided to check the water pressure coming into the house, which was reading at 120psi - almost double what should be coming into the house and most likely the cause of the premature failure of the hot water heater. The water coming into the home and running through plumbing equipment and fixtures should be between 50 and 60 psi…any higher and one will find themselves with leaks and investing in repairs and/or replacement.
All said and done, it was $699 for the purchase and installation costs of a best in the industry Rheem Professional Classic 40-
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
gas hot water heater AND $200 for the purchase and installation of a water intake pressure regulator for a total of $899.
To top it off, he checked for gas leaks because he thought that something must be wrong to have a gas bill as high as the one we explained we recently received for a house our size and the fact that we only have a furnace, a range, and a hot water heater that use natural gas…nothing else. His investigation did not find any gas leaks; however, he recommended calling the gas company to complain about the high bill and to have them come out to investigate as a precaution.
WE LOVE
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
& A/C because we have received the following:
1) prompt professional and courteous service
2) no charge estimates and recommendations
3) reasonable material and labor costs in relation to the scope of the job being evaluated
4) quality workmanship
I love that
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
& A/C keeps costs fair and reasonable by purchasing the materials specific to the service issue at-hand at the time of service; thus, consumers are not stuck footing the bill for the following: a warehouse stocked with an unnecessarily large overhead; unnecessary flashy franchise advertising and franchise fees; and for a pair of new, unsupervised, inexperienced, unqualified, and unlicensed franchisee apprentice plumbing salesman to show up at your door to sell you products and services that may or may not solve the issue.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
& A/C is who we will continue to call for all of our plumbing needs!

They did a fantastic, beautiful job. Removing the old sink could easily have damaged our counter top but these guys knew how to be careful. They even knew how to make the hole for the new sink slightly larger as needed. Job was very polished. The guys were very nice, and cleaned up afterwards. They were everything we hoped.

I was wrong! Exactly one week after
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
completed the
projects, the sewage backed up into the basement and created a more
extensive mess than previous backups due to the false sense of security
provided to us by
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
that they had successfully solved our
problem.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
was called to address the situation and, in
response, they sent out a hydrojetting truck. The hydrojetting truck
ran pressurized water through the line, assured us that we should be
fine, and left. One week after
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's hydrojetting truck came, the
sewage backed up into the basement again.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
was contacted
about the second backup, to which they responded by sending out another
hydrojetting truck. The African American gentleman from the
hydrojetting truck claimed that we had a "soft clog." For a "soft
clog," he had a very difficult time trying to clear it. His
hydrojetting stream
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
up out of the clean out approximately 3 or 4
stories like a geyser. He told my daughter that had never happened
before and that he didn't know why it was doing that. My daughter
decided to call the township to come out to evaluate the line as
should've been done from the beginning. The township arrived as the Mr.
Rooter hydrojetting truck technician waited around to see what the
township was going to say. The township sent a camera up their main
line and hydrojetted it. I specifically recall that the
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked

technician asked a township employee if the section of my home's lateral
sewer line could be replaced from where
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's work stopped to
the main. The township employee told him, No." Then, the township sent a
camera up my home's lateral sewer line and couldn't make out what the
blockage was. The township decide to go ahead and hydrojet my home's
lateral sewer line from the clean out (where
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's work ended) to
the main. The
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
Hydrojetting technician told my daughter that
the township has better equipment and should be able to get the sewer
line flowing. Additionally, the
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
tech told my daughter that
he was afraid of getting the hose stuck in the sewer line and having to
pay to get it removed. Prior to the township hydrojetting my home's
lateral sewer line, the
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
technician left. One week after the
township's intervention, another sewage backup occurred. I decided to
skip calling
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
, yet again, for a problem that they are
obviously unqualified to address. Instead, I called the township. The
township arrived at my home and, as a courtesy, camera inspected the
work that
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
had completed in order to be sure that it was done
properly. The township determined that it was. They proceeded to
hydrojet my home's lateral sewer line from the clean out located near
the basement door to the main sewer line. On this visit, they did not
camera to check that the line was clear; however, they observed flow and
thought that it was good to go. In order to address the regular
frequency of sewage backing up into my basement, the township decided to
make an appointment to clean out my home's lateral sewer line using the
camera to make sure that any blockages are cleared and to be sure that
no additional work on my home's lateral sewer line was necessary. In a
letter to
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
of Pittsburgh, sent on 1-22-2012 from my daughter's
email account, states exactly what frame of mind we were and are still
both in. We are angry and extremely dissatisfied to have paid $19,500
for a sewer line replacement/sliplining process that was supposed to be
done up to within 2' of the main (it wasn't), and then find ourselves no
better off than before we signed the invoices to have the work done.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
didn't do anything to solve the problem in which they were
contracted to solve. Apparently, upon receiving my daughter's email,
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
decided to show up at the house the following day just a few hours
before the township arrived to do a camera-assisted clean out. First of
all, I don't recall (and neither does my daughter) inviting
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
to
park his van in the back yard. In fact, I didn't even know anyone was
on my property. That is, until we noticed a man walking across the
porch, and then peering in the windows like a "Peeping
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
." It took a
few minutes with my daughter looking to realize that it was
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
. I
opened the door to find out what he wanted. He wanted to sell me a
$5,000 back flow preventer, claiming that it was the only way to prevent
sewage from backing up into my basement again. At that point, my
daughter and I informed him that the township would be here in a few
hours. My daughter made sure he didn't touch anything (that we know
of). My daughter also recalls how
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
spent quite a bit of time
walking around talking on his cell phone before he finally left. After
the township had arrived to camera inspect and clean my home's lateral
sewer line (of grease), they determined that everything was fine. Since
the TOWNSHIP cleared the grease out of MY HOME'S LATERAL SEWER LINE, the
line that I am responsible for and that you were contracted to restore
flow to (but didn't), there has been NO SEWAGE BACKUPS in a little over 9
MONTHS! Furthermore, I am extremely unhappy with the fact that the
concrete slab in front of the outside basement door has a crack running
where the old concrete meets the new concrete. When they first did it,
it looked fine; however, after it dried, it cracked. The remainder of
the concrete slab should've been jackhammered and re-poured as it was
obvious that no bonding agents were appropriately applied. Another thing
that I am not happy about is that the drain for the basement shower was
moved from its original location, making it hard to find a new shower
base. All I had to do in order to use that shower (prior to
excavation), was to replace the plumbing. Now I have to worry about
moving the drain or custom forming the shower base. I really need to
have access to a shower. The tub is extremely difficult for me to use.
In conclusion, NONE….I repeat NONE of the work that
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
did
contributed to solving the problem of sewage backing up into my
basement.
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
engaged in the following behaviors: high
pressure, misleading sales tactics; breech of contract; and the
inadequate completion and delivery of services.
UPDATE:
It appears that
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
of Pittsburgh couldn't even handle
properly installing the "no charge" toilet about 13 months ago, which
actually cost $400. The toilet wobbles, it isn't shimmed on the uneven
concrete surface it is sitting on in the basement, and the seal is
broken rendering the toilet unusable. This confirms, for me, that
consumers can't count on quality workmanship from a
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
location.
What they can expect is that employees could make your home
dangerous....If my Mother (who is 61 years old, has osteoporosis and
balance issues, and has had two hip surgeries) would have unexpectedly
discovered that wobbly toilet instead of me, then she could have been
hurt badly.
Here we thought my Mom bought a $20,000 toilet....She didn't even
get that because they just took her money and gave her nothing at all in
return.
An independent video inspection confirms that
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
breached the terms of the contract.

Our five year old hot water heater needed repaired. Plumber advised it would be cheaper to replace than to repair. He used extremely high pressure sales tactics to sell us a new hot water heater at $2,000.00 as well as extended warranties even after we advised him we were selling our house and wanted to put as little money into the water heater as possible. We paid for his service visit of $35.00 and asked him to leave. I would never do business with them.

In the end, they suggested calling the fire department and/or gas company to further check out the unknown odor. We did call the fire department first and we asked them not to make a big deal out of it and to come quietly. Ha!
Greensburg Plumbers Provider Name Locked
love these guys. They are so into their work. They sent 3 HUGE firetrucks down our little street. Lights flashing everywhere, but thank God they didn't use the sirens. There were at least 8 firemen in my house who did a thorough check from top to bottom. Everyone could smell the terrible odor and everyone had their opinion, but none of their equipment was registering anything dangerous. They then told us that we should call the gas company just to make sure. We did. One of the men waited until the gas company came. The gas company checked everything out and all was well. The bottom line and the conclusion seems to be that the odor is coming from a decaying dead animal under our steps, but no one is certain. The odor burns your eyes, causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness and asthma problems. The other interesting fact is that there should be no way an animal can get under our steps since they are surrounded by concrete block and a solid wall with NO openings. Our next step is to open up the wall that is not concrete block (there is only one) to see if we can find out what is under those steps. For now, we are keeping our basement door closed and blocking off the bottom of the door so the smell can't get through. We open the garage door and windows every day to vent the smell until we can get around to ruining our beautiful finished basement wall to see what in the world is happening under our steps. Kind of creepy. I guess the moral of the story is to check for dead animals first???? Of course, you might risk being blown up by something that turns out to be other than a possible dead animal. We did our job. . . before we called anyone, we checked and rehydrated every drain in the house, climbed up on the roof to check the roof vent, to make sure it wasn't frozen and was clear, poured water down the roof vent, when that didn't work, called the plumber. When that didn't work, called the fire department who in turn called the gas company, who didn't find anything either outside of the horrible odor. A big thank you to all who helped in this mysterious odor case!
