The onsite laser measurement and template and eventual installation was done very well. Both the technician and installer , Flauvio, were very professional, customer oriented and delivered excellent results.
The problem encountered was that a small 6" wide side piece was left off the shipment and I was informed that another installer would come the following Tuesday to deliver and install. However, no one from Colonial showed up on Tuesday and I could not get anyone from Colonial on the phone and/or to call back to explain and commit to an actual delivery date. This was important because it was holding up the back splash installers as well as the whole project. Also, I live out of state and not only did I had to drive in to Pittsburgh to meet the expected Tuesday delivery, I had to wait for a undisclosed number of days until the delivery finally was completed.
It usually takes three or four calls to get through to a customer service person at Colonial. Leaving a message is useless because no one ever responds or calls back. After repeated tries,I finally got through to a customer service person named
A few days later an installer showed up unannounced. with to missing piece and the installation was finally completed a week late.
Normally, when a supplier makes a mistake, you would expect the supplier to go out of its way to correct the error to the customer's satisfaction. Colonial's attitude seems to be that they will rectify it when it is convenient to them. Ignoring customer calls and not even communicating corrective action is completely unacceptable and a poor example of customer service.
In summary, Colonial's technicians and installers are first rate but Colonial's Customer Service is the completely unprofessional and the worst that I have ever seen in any business.

Eventually I decided to just do it. I asked BGD to remove and dispose of the old countertops and also to install the new sink and to reinstall my old garbage disposal and dishwasher. They set dates for the final measurements and for the installation. After
Unlike many contractors I've worked with, their team came right on time. They removed the Corian without damaging a single tile on the backsplash. They checked with us as they went along to be sure we were happy with what they were doing. After they left, I noticed that the dishwasher hadn't been reinstalled quite right, so I emailed the office. The very next day
Bottom line: BGD's customer service is excellent - they respond to phone calls and emails. they offer lots of help in figuring out what to do, their installers do a fine job, they are on time, and they keep at it until the customer is satisfied. Also, their prices are very good. I hope I won't be needing any more new granite anytime soon, but if I did, I would call them immediately. Highly recommended.
I had such a great experience working with them on that project i have used them for rental properties and other projects since. There are a multiple points that i believe put
Third, you don't have to track anyone down.
Fourth, they know their product. They are more than willing to do whatever you want- however, they give valuable insight about material; how it will weather, durability and so forth. While others will let you buy "the perfect slab" and then wait for you to return in a couple years because you put marble in you kitchen and its now totally ruined with oil and red wine stains,
Fifth, they stand by their work and their products. You aren't going to have problems with tile being laid crooked or granite being mis-cut. I have never had any issues, but i from the customer service i have received, i feel very confident they would "make-it-right".
I could go on and on but i hope the above review gives you an idea of why i wouldnt recommend anyone else!
