Elizabethtown Remodeling Contractors Reviews

"I have dealt with several contractors over the years. Some of which are no longer in business.
Elizabethtown Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
has been around a long time and even though he operates a small contracting business he tries his best to return calls, get quotes and answer questions on a timely basis. As anyone will tell you, remodeling is never cheap. I have taken the cheapest contractors before and have paid for it in the long run.
I met

when he was doing some work for my next door neighbor. In fact my neighbor has used him on several of his projects as well.

's prices are reasonable and he is generally pretty fair and straight forward to deal with.
I had some windows installed by a contractor from the west shore by the name of

some years ago. When some of the windows went bad I tried contacting this guy to get me new windows that were still under warranty. Mr.

never lifted a finger to help me and he was the one who put them in. I don't think he is in business anymore and definitely is not listed on this site.

was putting some basement windows in for me and offered to get the replacement window sashes that went bad. He took the information and got the new window sashes for me from Allsides free of charge. Of course I put them in myself, but

did me a favor by ordering, picking up and delivering the windows free of charge.
As with all contractors you have to be willing to work with him and be a little flexible on scheduling but he tries to get things done according to your time requirements.

"From initial phone call through the work being done, the entire experience was positive. Mr.

was friendly, prompt, courteous and professional throughout. He came when he said he would, did what he said he would do, cleaned up afterwards, and charged a very reasonable price. We were thrilled with his work, and would definitely hire his company again for interior remodeling work."
"The project was completed before the date promised and under budget. They were excellent to work with. They told us about each step of the process. They also meticulously cleaned up their messes each day. If I had any problems with the repairs or with fixtures,

was quick to repair them. They are honest to a fault. We highly recommend them."
"This involved our kitchen, basement and 2 rooms in the basement. They were great. They helped with the insurance work as well. Insurance covered all the costs. We called the insurance company and they told us to call

. It was a Friday night and they were here within 2 hours of the pipe bursting. They took some areas down to the studs to replace drywall. They removed ceiling tile and replaced it. They painted and shampooed carpets. They ripped the kitchen floor out to the sub-floor and had a new floor installed. They organized everything. All I had to do was show up and pick out what I wanted! They were wonderful. For such a devastating situation, working with them was great. I have no complaints. If they needed to be here to do work and I was not going to be home, I simply had to leave the door unlocked and they showed up when they said they would."

was easy to work with. He was direct about what he would do and would not do. He was prompt to resolve issues as they came up such as towel bars and toilet paper holder not included by the distributer. I used a "universal" rebuild kit on the commode. The tank seal provided in the kit does not work on a

got the correct part and resolved the issue.

started and completed the project on schedule. They protected the hallway carpet and covered the kitchen floor where they brought material in and out. There was some unavoidable dust due to the drywall work. They cleaned up the work area. Workmanship was great. The only thing that I feel could have been a little better was the fit on the trim molding around the doors although the plaster walls made precise fitting of the trim a challenge.
The workers were courteous and accommodating and consulted us on preferences.
"Timing of completion was critical in this contract. It needed to be completed in 8 days. The contractor said no problem. He wrote the contract for $2300.00. He signed it and gave me a copy. I paid him 50% and I said lets begin. He started and after several days he began to skip days. After a while he no longer showed up for about two months. I saw a lawyer to get some advice as he no longer returned my calls. I was advised to send him a letter and give him one week to finish or the contract is void. .I followed his advice. He showed up the following Sunday and finished, disturbing a family get together. He than sent me a bill for the contract price plus 50%. I refused to pay the overage and he sued. The District Justice allowed an additional 900.00 to the contractor since he claimed that I did not sign the contract and he was correct with that except he never gave me the contract to sign. He just gave me a copy after he signed it and I assumed that was the way it should be. Some things you learn the hard way.
His quality was poor. The first time it rained water came in under the new patio door. The closed doors did not he did not allow for carpet. I had to take the newly purchased metal closet doors to a local contractor to have them cut off for another $50.00 of cost. He rearranged all the electrics in the room and said he would redo the breaker box chart and never did it.
The worst part is this. He spoke to our local Rotary club to promote his business. He was adamant when he said that when I give you a quote that is exactly what It will cost, no more and no less. This gentleman is a hometown contractor and I assumed he was honest. He is also a member of another Rotary club. Another lesson learned.
