The lamp arrived at my home via Fed Ex. I made certain the delivery man remained while I opened and inspected both boxes. To my dismay, the lamp shade was chipped along the bottom
Not the shipper???? I paid $450 to ship this lamp and I am not the shipper. Nope... he and his company would not provide me any receipts, bills of lading, or delivery receipts stating Mailnmore of Delray Beach FL was the SHIPPER. Hmmmmm Very interesting.
The delivery Fed Ex person distinctly stated upon seeing the chip, "Fed Ex is not responsible since there is no damage to the exterior of the shipping carton"..I wasn't aware that he was a claims adjuster for Fed EX as well.
I called Mailnmore in Delray Fla and talked to the counter gentleman,
I have no idea when the shade was chipped after I tendered the lamp to Mailnmore, but it was damaged while in their possession or in the possession of Fed Ex.
To date, I have heard nothing from Mailnmore about my claim. I do not expect to hear from Fed Ed since incredibly I am NOT the shipper.
Mailnmore overcharges for their services and will ripoff their unsuspecting customers when given the opportunity..
Besides the problem I have with them over the lamp shade, I sold some very delicate china on Ebay and my sister had them package and mail it to the buyer here in the lower 48. She insured it for $100. She had them package and ship it. It arrived intact but Mailnmore charged over $100 for their services. My sister has used these people in the past and has trusted them to be fair and honest. I almost fell over when she told me that they charged over $100 for one
Please remember YOU will not be the shipper. Mailnmore will take on that role. You will have NO CONTROL, if you need to file a claim, since you aren't the shipper. You will also be dealing with Mr Gerlick who is rude, crude, and extremely confrontational when pressed with a claim or any matter that may run counter intuitive to his imagination on how to rconduct business in a fair and equitable manner when serving the public.

Long story short. My recently deceased grandmother had china that my mother sent to me. Not only did I receive the packages with 40% of the items broken. They also tried to charge me shipping Again since it was forwarded, when I should have only been charged the amount from the forward. They also, could not locate the packages for about 1 week.
Usually all post offices are just okay not great not horrible. This is without a doubt the worst Post Office I have had the displeasure of dealing with.
The manager spent about 10 minutes taping and securing my package. He felt it would be better to make sure it was packaged properly rather than to show them how it arrived. He attached the label. Basically, he did all the things I should have done at home and didn't ask for a cent and didn't even complain! I offered to pay him but he wouldn't take it.
I have used this store before and received good service but I thought this service was above and beyond the call and that is why I am writing this time. The manager even explained to me how to track the package to make sure that I knew when it had arrived and then I could check to see that my reimbursement followed promptly. I was truly impressed and would highly recommend this

The owner is very nice and I consider it an improvement that the previous female employee is no longer there. That employee was abrasive, sometimes rude to customers and not service-oriented. You invariably would hear her complaining about something. When you entered you didn't know if she would nice or nasty that day. It was just so danged inconvenient to change address after so long, that we just worked with it.
Since the owner has taken over, we have seen an improvement in their services. They still have an issue with not having enough staff during busy times (3-5:30 p.m.). Generally, there is only one person behind the counter to ring up sales, mail packages or pick up packages.
The place is clean and neat and it was nice having someone sign for packages.
