"Very well, overall. My only complaint is that it took a while to get the system actually installed (and they had a backlog, and delays), but they kept me in the" loop, did stuff by the book (with permits and what-not, and my township is a pain to deal with). I got the Enphase microconverters, and they even set it up so I can look at my generation through a website. They filled out all the paperwork too.

"Getting responses back took from a week to months on questions from the initial estimate to questions and concerning during the project installation process. " The communications and project was drawn out well past a 6 month period which usually, from their project information paperwork, takes an average of around 60 days. We experienced some major communications and organizational problems throughout the process. This caused us to basically give up, after 4 months, on getting any type of answers and had zero expectations on getting any callbacks or email responses from this company. We did what was needed when works from the company or inspectors arrived on different days dealing with the project really not having expectations. We do not know the quality of the installation or equipment used at this time since time will tell on that part of the review so we entered N/A. We did find some type of closer at the end of the project after talking with an officer within the company and a consultant giving us the impression that there were employees working for the company knowledgeable and conveyed honest customer relationship skill-sets.

8 tips for finding the best solar panel installer

One highly rated provider shares eight tips to help you find the best solar panel installer for your home and get the best return on your investment.

3 types of solar panels: pros and cons

Are you confused about how solar panels work? Manufacturers produce three general types of panels, with variances that affect efficiency and performance. Find out how the three types differ, and which might work best.

Connecting your residential solar power to the utility grid comes with advantages, but for some homeowners a stand-alone solar system is a better fit.

When selecting a solar panel installer, it’s important to know the efficiency of the panels that will be used in your system. Cheaply made solar panels do not give homeowners as high a return on investment. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Thomas B. of Las Vegas)

Getting a solar panel system is a big decision … and so is choosing which company will install it for you.

Thinking of installing solar panels? Here are some payment options to consider.

There are many high pressure solar companies out there pushing a solar lease and homeowners may not fully understand what they are getting into, says Burnett. (Photo courtesy of SolarCraft)

Leasing solar panels may sound like a nice way to get green energy into your home, but count the cost before you sign that lease instead of buying outright.

Are you talking about powering your home solely on solar (i.e. no back up power source or off grid).

The power, once convered from DC to AC via the inverter, is suitable for use by the home.

Most solar application are in supplement to the current powering of the home and will spin the meter back in the day but are not the primary.

OK - that should strike Atlantic Plumbing off your vendor list !

You say female pipe to copper pipe connection - I hope you are not saying they connected copper directly to galvanized or black iron pipe. If so, there should have been a dielectric union put in there to prevent corrosion, which could be part of your problem.

Also, generally a bad idea to use teflon tape for hot water tank connections - too much thermal cycling, loosens it up over time. Should use plumbers dope for that application.

It sounds to me like a connection problem - if the tank itself was leaking it should be flooding the top of the tank or more likely running down through the insulation and dripping out the bottom.

Unless you are a do it yourselfer, sounds like you need to find a new plumber with good reviews and rating in your area - Search the List (in green banner bar). This should be an easy fix - should have him put in dielectric couplings (about $5-10 each depending on pipe size) if current connection is iron to copper, and even if not, have him redo connection not only for cold but also hot water - if one was done poorly, probably both were.

Overall it was a very good experience. It took longer for our installation because we changed our mind during the process and went from a total roof installation to partial roof and ground mount. They were very patient with us during the process and presented all of the options so that we could make a decision that would provide the best solar output. The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. We are very happy with the final result.

gave a competitive quote to remove a solar array that would not pass code, complete the installation of a new service panel. and repair roof damage caused by a different solar company. They did a fantastic job!! The owner, crew, and office are professional, honest, and a pleasure to deal with. They are one of the original installation companies in the area and care about their customers. The job came out better than I could have imagined following my previous experience. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with them. I believe the integrity of your roof is the most important aspect of the install.
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
completed the job flawlessly and I have a solar system installed correctly and a roof that will be watertight for many years. Be wary of the large companies and their promises. THANK YOU

Mr.
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
did not respond to my emails or voice mails and on Feb 28 I received a notice from the Eleventh Judicial Circuit that I was had a " worthless check" (I had put a stop payment on the check) and have been ordered to pay it in full along with interest by March 7. Needless to say I will contest this in court but I just find it hard to believe how overall sleazy this outfit is.

I requested for a solar PV sytem quote from
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
. I got prompt reply and was scheduled for in home visit. the person arrived on time. He was not well prepared for the visit. he was unaware of all the incentives available to me. Also didn't know about the NYC fire department
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
of leaving some space in the roof from the edges. So the design he had was not following all these rules and regulations. Also he didn't collect enough information over the phone prior to his visit which he needed for the design. so in effect, the first visit was basically waste of his and my time. i ended up not picking them.

was great from start to finish. They provided design assistance and helped along the way as we went through the county permitting process.
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
also helped specify the equipment, supplied the equipment, and worked with us as we installed the system. The results are excellent. We are very pleased with the rooftop solar electric system and are now powering our own house.

We have worked with
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
on three different occasions now, and I can't say enough good things about this group. they are ALWAYS punctual, friendly, tidy, and do exceptional work every time.
We currently have 8 Solatubes, yes EIGHT! And what a bright home we live in. it's fantastic!! On this visit,
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
came to install a bathroom fan add on to one of our tubes in one of the bathrooms, and 3 of their new solar night lights. We put the night lights in the two bathrooms and in the stair case solatubes.
First, lets talk about the bathroom fan. The fan that go with the system, is an inline fan. If you don't know what that is, it is basically halfway up the venting tube, rather than right in your ceiling. This construction allows you to have a stronger fan with less vibration noise. If you have a traditional ceiling fan, it is mounted in the frame of your home, so when you turn that thing on and it makes that awful whirring noise... that's vibration. The inline system doesn't have that, because it doesn't touch the structure of your house. Additionally, because of the issues with vibration, you will typically have a 80-cfm ceiling fan, and the inline is 110-cfm, which means it pulls more air. Ok, enough of building lessons. Back to the fan.
This fan is said to be "whisper quiet." The term "whisper quiet" I believe is subjective. don't get me wrong, this fan is very VERY quiet, but I wouldn't say it's as quiet as a whisper, I can hear it. With that said, if you put it beside your whirring ceiling monster, then yes, I would say it is definitely whisper quiet. Having had it for a few months now, I would say it is less noticeable now than before. I have forgotten to turn it off a time or four. :)
Onto the little solar lights. What a GREAT invention these things are!! They do have their pros and cons though, which I will cover. The solar lights basically install into your tube and capture the solar energy during the day to charge them up; the more sun, and the brighter the sun, the longer the light lasts. Easy right? We have them installed in two bathrooms in 10" tubes and the stair well in a 14" tube.
Pros: No more stumbling around in the dark for the bathroom, or searching for the stairs!
Depending on the sun exposure, they last between 3-10 hours. Yes, 10 hours! in the last 2 month, we have seen an increase in the length of them lasting. I'm not sure this is typical, but I'll take it.
Cost effective. They are CHEAP!
Energy Saving. No more turning on the lights to go to the bathroom, or up and down the stairs, which also does not disturb your melatonin production, or circadium rhythm. (you need these for a good nights sleep)
Tax Credit! Adding these makes your solatubes tax deductible. Yes please!
Cons: No sun, no light, or very little light. Sad face.
Stubbing my toe when they run out in the dead of winter. Lets face it, they need light to recharge, and when we had them installed in November, they didn't last more than a couple hours, but since January, they have increased. Expect more light close to the summer equinox than the winter solstice.
I don't have enough!
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, Bring me more!!
Overall, I highly recommend installing both the bathroom fans, not only because it looks good with your solatube, but because it's quieter, and the solar lights for all the reasons I mentioned, AND because

It has been 7 months now since this process has started. and still no solar installation. i had to contact the company to find out what the status was. then a month ago i find out everything was cancelled with no formal notification. My husband found out from one of the sales rep in the
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
CA Home Depot. So i called and the rep said bcz there has been no activity it automatically cancels and sd she would re instate it and someone will be in contact with me. What a dissappointment. No follow up calls ....unanswered questions.....no body knows whats going on. and as of today still no follow up calls of what is going on. I would not recommend doing business with this company.

I met with owner/field representative
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
Bavin (very nice man, not pushy or overbearing, was informative and gave me a discount on the initial repair) and discussed the scope of work needed and the options to get it completed. After that meeting, he said I would be contacted by their office manager
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and she would schedule the work. I waited for almost two weeks with no call and decided to call and see what was up. I had to leave a message because
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was not in the office and only she could set the appointment. I left my number and waited. Again, no call... I then decided to call
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and let him know I had not been contacted and that I wanted to be sure someone would get back to me. He said he would have someone call me right away and get the appointment set up. I was then called by
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
later that day and was given the reason that they had my number wrong and could not get in touch with me. I understand that things happen, so I let it go. I set the appointment with
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and ended the call. The day of the appointment,
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
arrived with his crew who performed work. The work was done well but due to the age of the roof, I needed a roofer to come in and do repairs before
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew could finish. That delay had nothing to do with
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, it was all on my end and it took some time to complete. Once the roof issue was corrected, I called in again and spoke with
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
to get the work completed. She was on the other line/project and said she would get back to me with a time. I then waited again, no call back and after two days I had to call in yet again to find out what happened. I spoke with
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
again and she informed me of a date that they would be out to finish the job. I said OK and when that day came around, nobody was here. I called in again and was told it was a "mistake" and they were sorry but the next date was not for another week. So I waited another week and finally got the job completed. The whole time through this,
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
was very professional and did everything as he promised. He also came back out to connect a controller line that my pool service supplied to make sure the unit was up and running. Flash forward to about two weeks ago, I noticed that there were bubbles in my pool and it sounded like the air check valve was stuck open. I called in to
Aston Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
to make a service appointment, left a message with my name and number and never got a call back to date. I have never seen this many issues with an office and such a terrible follow-through. Once, even twice I would understand but this is beyond that and really comes down to terrible office service.
