"Am very pleased with
, from initial shop visit to receiving a quote to final installation they were professional and courteous the whole" way through. The quartz countertops were installed today and they look great. The crew even helped shore up my one cabinet that was unstable after the old countertop was removed, greatly appreciated their customer focus. I had gotten quotes from 4 companies and am very glad I chose

"This provider is very profession
. There were no surprises. Gave fair price, showed up on time, and left the house clean. Countertops" look excellent. Definitely would recommend.

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

Countertop Installation reviews in Stayton

For a master bath remodeling, the general contractor, Rainbow Valley Construction, was excellent and so were most of the sub-contractors -- plumbers, painters, electricians, etc. Most of the work by

(whose cost I cannot remember specifically) was satisfactory except for a gouge a few inches long that the installer created across a piece of existing travertine floor tile.
Stayton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
made a half-hearted attempt to fill the gouge, but the filler did not match the stone at all and remained very apparent and very unsightly.

I encountered the owner of
Stayton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
last fall and expressed my continuing unhappiness with the scar on the floor of the remodeled bathroom. He took my name and number and promised to call to arrange an attempt to correct the problem. Months went by with no call. I then encountered the owner again at a Home and Garden Show where he was

a company booth. He was apologetic about not contacting me and, again, promised to do so. Months went by and, again, no call. I finally found an independent contractor who did a wonderful job of filling the gouge and matching the color of the stone.
To this day, I have never heard from the owner of
Stayton Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. It's clear to me that he never meant to keep his promises to call to address the problem his employee created. He, in short, simply blew me off. Because of his un-kept promises and his lack of courtesy and professionalism, I would never again hire

and certainly never recommend that company to anyone else.

So happy that I found

was able to modify the cabinets next to/above our refrigerator, along with installing a side panel, and now it looks custom made! After making the template for the countertops, he laid our old counter back down, and reinstalled our old sink/faucet so that I would have a working kitchen until

was VERY responsive and came out the same day as our call. After spending a full day on another job, he kindly came out to enlarge the faucet hole in our kitchen because our new faucet was a little too large for the existing hole. He was very nice and cordial and did the work professionally and quickly so we could install our new faucet that night. I would recommend him for any type of

The end result was beautiful and better than we expected. The installers were professional and had the countertops installed quickly. The quality was superior and we plan on using them again for some fireplace mantels,
The reason I gave a B for Punctuality is Finding out the status of the order was a bit bumpier than we expected. Once I was able to speak to someone inside the company, when I called up angry about the seemingly late delivery, he was very put out that their sales person and website said they had a seven day delivery date. He said that in seven days the project is still in the design stage getting ready to move to the CAD stage barring any issues such as re-measurements etc, then once it goes to the CAD stage it can move forward to the manufacture stages and then get scheduled for delivery and installation which is normally ten to fourteen days after order date not seven.
The reason for the B in Responsiveness is that we always had to call then to find out the status of our order, when they thought the installation would be, etc. they rarely called us,

They had to come back a second time because none of the installations worked right. They were to install the hardware and rehang the drapes and shades The hardware needed to be adapted and bent in places in order to function as needed. On two windows, although I accepted the hardware, the drape catches a bit and a different style hardware would have been correct. When I asked why they chose the hardware they did, I was told it was because it was in stock. This is not the expertise in judgment I expect from professionals. In addition, screws were left scattered around windows, pieces of discarded plastic wrapping were on the floor and no offer was made to help me move furniture back in place. The installer initially let me know everything was fine and he was leaving. He seems surprised but willing when I said we would check each window before he left. None of the drapes moved smoothly and two of them wouldn't go all the way across. He had been unable to make the new shade hardware work properly and so at my request reinstalled my old hardware so I could have my shades and took the ineffective hardware away. They had selected the hardware. After the second visit, with a lot of bending of pieces of equipment and tinkering, things work well enough. I had them reinstall the bottom anchor on one drape so that it wasn't showing beneath the drapes. Very bad judgment to have installed it beneath in a way that let the hardware show at the bottom. The explanation I got for why it was screwed into my wall that way initially was that the installer was used to drapes that went to the floor. This was sill level drapery They were polite and available through the process. What I came to believe is that they simply didn't have the knowledge and experience to handle selecting new hardware for existing drapes and then installing it. They initially told me that the installation was included in the cost of the hardware and there would be no additional fee. I paid for all the hardware that they selected with that understanding. The day before the installation was to take place, they contacted me telling me that that was a mistake and in fact there would be a charge.

Nice family-run business, very quick and responsive (though it was a

was very punctual, responded quickly and did exactly what we discussed and agreed on. He was great about asking questions regarding layout and design and clarifying all details before performing the work. The crew cleaned up after work everyday and finished on time and on budget. We have another bathroom to remodel in the coming months and plan to use Cowboys again.

The owner B.J. knows his business and is always available ! He gave the estimate and info. on a couple places to pick out the slabs of granite. This part, I thought might be a little intimidating but the ware houses were fine. Probably should not bring children to the granite warehouse however. I took a cabinet door with me as I wanted to compliment those, and found the perfect slabs. We selected the thicker granite as the kitchen island has a large breakfast bar extending out.( Check with B.J. if you need new sinks as he has nice ones.) The installers were here most of the day and do a great job . I got a little nervous when the plumber was late to hook everything back-up. It was Friday afternoon and the water was turned off. I called B.J. and when he returned the call a few minutes later the plumber was here. Everyone is very impressed with my countertops and Mirage.
