Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
claimed to be licensed and insured !! He was hired to remodel a hallway bathroom the last week of May 2014 and we were finished with him mid August. His communication is non existent. He was always late, numerous no calls or no shows claiming he sent a text. Oddly enough he would be claiming we did not received the text but he was the one that changed his phone and number several times. He is messy and disorganized. You would almost need a cleaning crew after he got done working. His work is devoid of any quality, it is so substandard I have had to hire both an electrician and a plumber to come behind him and repair all of his work and we are still not even at the tiling point yet. He was unable to get past the tile work, his tiling was so bad it was ripped out three times. Twice by him because I was dissatisfied with the way it was coming along and tore it down and asked him to redo it. Needless to say I have paid for material at least twice. He was constantly on the phone or hanging out at his mother's that actual work time was reduced to maybe an hour or two a day. He would claim he had to get this or that part and go to Home Depot and never return or take hours to come back. He had 2 months to get that bathroom done. Money was not an issue for he was paid for material upfront. He was paid to order granite countertop, toilet, frameless glass door, toilet, mirror, he pocketed the money for all of these items. He was constantly accosting me to pay him when he was told he was not going to get paid for all it until he was done. It quite frankly made me feel like an ATM. He has since stripped his work truck of any certification numbers. I believe he was using his late father's certification numbers. I am also certain that he is hiding his work truck from the repo company or the city at his mother's house. His deceitful behavior is starting to catch up with him. I have since seen his ads for actively pursuing work on Craigslist, Thumbtack and Credibility. It is my mission to make sure NO ONE ELSE gets victimized by

Little. He is a con artist and has no business being in business. I was trying to support a starting small local business by hiring
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
but sadly next time I need work done on my house I will go with a bigger well established franchise. As of September 12, 2014

Upfront about the estimate and areas where there were unknowns which could impact cost. Explained each step of the job as he worked. Willingly answered all questions. Professional job.

I had an acrylic sink that was awful. It was scratched and chipped. The problem with replacing it was that I have a granite counter and a scroll-like cut out on the upper left side. The sink is no longer made. I could not replace it even if I wanted to. Since I didn't want to get a new counter, I came-up with the idea of having a custom copper sink made.
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
came over and gave me an estimate.
When the new sink finally arrived, he and his partner and three granite installers came over. They removed the old sink and faucet and installed the new sink and faucets. I had ordered a replacement for the faucet and a separate under counter water filter. (The new fixture is a pull-out so I had an extra hole that needed to be filled.)
I would definitely recommend

Working with
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was GREAT! He was easy to talk to, he caught onto my ideas very quickly and went for it. He worked quickly and efficiently and was professional at all times. He allowed me to ask a ton of questions and was willing to answer each and every one - even giving advice on other upcoming projects I had in mind. He's just a really decent, good guy and it was great working with him. He responded quickly when I first contacted him and was punctual ever time he needed to be here. His first visit was to talk about the ideas I had for the cabinets and he quickly responded with a quote that seemed extremely fair so we agreed to move forward. We agreed that I would order the storage cabinets for the two bathrooms from a local home improvement warehouse. While we waited for those, he took the mirror from the master bath to start customizing it. His second visit was to install the medicine cabinet in the guest bath that I had bought off the shelf and painted to match the sink vanity. This installation was complicated by the fact that we found electrical and a vent pipe in the wall that needed to be re-routed. Our house was built in 1931 so all the walls are lathe and plaster and the wood studs are very hard. Cutting through all that and then moving the electrical and vent pipe took extra time. But
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was a trooper and took the time necessary to do the job right. On his third visit we intended to finish the project - installing the medicine cabinet in the master bath and all the cabinets over the toilets. His custom-built medicine cabinet turned out beautiful! He ended up having to replace the mirror because the original glass was too thin for the hinge and closure hardware. It was a wide mirror so we wanted 3 separate doors - a large center door with smaller doors on either side. He figured it out, was still able to reuse the frame and we couldn't be happier with it. We found that there was no electrical or vent pipe in our way so this installation was much easier and faster. We then hung the two cabinets over the toilet. Again, no major problems except our walls are not plumb nor square. No big surprise for a 1931 house. So there were some gaps along the walls which would need some extra trim. We then moved to the cabinet in the guest bath. The size I ordered ended up being just a hair too wide for the space - mostly because of the walls not being plumb. I checked on returning it and ordering a smaller size but that would have meant another 2-3 week delay.

agreed to take it and resize it so we could finish the project sooner. He was going to have to come back anyway because he needed to make the trim and still rip the adjustable shelves that were going to go between the cabinets in the master bath. I had ordered an extra length of shelving for this so it would all match those cabinets.

made his final visit today and everything went great and quickly. He first checked the adjustable shelves he had ripped for the master bath. He needed to shave a little more off to accommodate the hangers I had purchased. He then installed the trim he was also able to rip from a section of that same extra length of shelving I had ordered. We then moved again to the cabinet in the guest bath.

had rebuilt the entire thing and you would never have known. It was still a little too tight of a squeeze for us to get it into place. But
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was able to shave off what was needed and we were able to finally get it into place. We needed to hang it about 6" inches from the ceiling so the doors would clear a vent fan.

had installed a filler piece to the top of the cabinet and the spacing is perfect.

Foster does good quality work. I'm very picky about the quality of my own work so I believe this is high praise. If he did just average work I would have failed him for not following through like he did. I enjoyed working with him when he was around. He gave me good alternatives when I though things should be done one way when he saw another way.
He is, however, apparently very busy and it is hard to schedule his time. He has also not yet finished the exterior work he started almost a year ago. He started this work in November and had to halt just short of finishing it because the weather turned too cold for some of the adhesives to work. He dropped out of contact for a month or so in the spring apparently due to vacation and other things. He agreed that all the exterior work has already been payed for and that he needs to finish the last 5% of it. He has also left a debris mess and is still using one of my trash cans which he has promised to empty a few times already.
Weeks of waiting for him to finish this have turned into months and now summer is gone as well. A couple months ago he went completely silent and has not returned my calls or my texts.
Regarding the remodeling of the bathrooms, he has done everything he was paid for, and did it well. The contract stopped short due to delays in acquiring the tile for the floors (took a couple months) and due to trouble trying to prevent ice dams from doing further damage to the bathrooms during winter.
The oak floors came out okay, I'm just baffled why they didn't try to fill all the obvious nail holes in the stair treads (not
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's fault).

He did it all in one day and had replacement parts that we had requested in advance. They just billed the cred card for the items once they were installed. He did a good job with both the plumbing and electrical issues.

We couldn't be happier with the work that
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
has done for us (this is our second project with him). The cabinet looks phenomenal, like it has always been there. It is both incredibly functional but also quite beautiful. We are very pleased!

I had a friend let them in and stay with them as I had to work. She said they were very nice and professional. If they had a question they called me and advise what they needed to do or ask if it was ok. I would use them again.

The estimating process was detailed and clear, with items broken out with details and pricing.
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his employees were friendly and professional throughout the job, which started on time, cleaning up thoroughly each day. The carpentry work and repairs were very good - they noticed things we did not.
Communication took place throughout the job - we were always informed about who would be at our house and when, and what part they'd be working on.
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's attention to detail helped us make decisions about both style and color that we hadn't thought about before, and the house and deck look fantastic.
We are also using him to replace windows, because we're confident we'll get the right item and high-quality installation.
I gave the pricing a B, only because
Seaside Carpenters Provider Name Locked
Painting was slightly higher than our other quotes. However, we were assured by other customers that it was worth it - AND IT WAS. The high quality, professionalism and attention to detail were worth paying slightly extra for.
