Business Description: Dr. Eric Stephens has been in professional practice for over 30 years. He co-founded the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and have been teaching other acupuncturists for 30 years. He has served as president of the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, President of the Oregon Acupuncture Association, and has been involved in the accreditation of colleges of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. He was in the very first graduating class in the country to receive the prestigious Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree, with a specialization in Pain Treatment. He is skilled at addressing both acute and chronic pain, from a variety of sources, including: • mechanical injuries such as strain, sprain, auto accidents, sports injuries, repetitive strain from work or play; • inflammatory pain such as that from arthritis and immune disorders; • neurologic pain such as tri-geminal neuralgia, sciatica, or numb/tingling sensations. Whether it’s headaches, back, neck, hip, knee, shoulder wrist, hands feet or any other part that hurts, Dr. Stephens has likely seen it and treated it successfully. In addition, Dr. Stephens has completed numerous specialized trainings and continuing education programs and is currently pursuing a year long additional specialization in Sports Medicine Acupuncture. He has also been pleased to participate in various research projects on acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Many insurance companies cover for acupuncture services and one of the services provided at the Acupuncture Center of Portland is to help you with billings to them. For most people with insurance, they will merely owe their co-pay at the time of treatment, provided that their deductible has been met. Persons who have been in a motor vehicle accident, that is still covered under their PIP coverage do not owe anything at the time of treatment in most cases. For those people who are paying at the time of service, initial appointments usually run about one and a half hours and cost about $120, depending on which services are rendered. Follow-up appointments usually run about $80 for acupuncture, with additional services or herbs extra. You are encouraged to visit the Center's website at www.acupuncturecenterofportland.com or to call to discuss your specific concerns. Dr. Stephens looks forward to working with you to help you feel your best.
