It went very well.
was great. Pleasant, courteous and professional. He even put up with my little dog...
My initial purchase was for repair to a bedroom closet.
finished the closet repair to my satisfaction. In addition to the closet repair, he repaired my front door locks and springs. He did a great job and I will definitely call him again. In fact, I'm putting together a list of things which need attention. Strongly recommend!

Very well. We will likely have him return once a punch list is submitted from an inspector. Loves children(we have 4) and had no problem with our overly inquisitive 5 month old kitten. Did an excellent job of explaining everything.

I have hesitated to write a review of Arches up until now. I have ambivalent feelings about it. I feel like the owner, Angel
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
is a man of integirty and the end product turned out very good.
However, along the way there was A LOT of stress. We did not get a fully dedicated crew as we were initially promised. After the 2 days of demolition, the workers generally did not show up until mid to late afternoon, making it pretty apparent that their larger jobs were taking precedence to ours, contrary to what we had originally been told. This caused the project to take about 5 weeks when we were told it would take about 2. The initial paint job was absolutely awful with drips everywhere and painting done over the sawdust from sanding. This painter was a sub. that Arches had reportedly never used before.
The tile we chose was a basket weave pattern of primairly black and white with some gray. The gray in the tile is random. The person who laid the tile made no effort to make sure thet the "look" remained random, and there was a mass of gray bunched in one area. Angel DID adress this and improved it, but this is probably the one area that I maybe should've insisted they do more to make it perfect. There were also initially some loose pieces in the basket weeave, but this WAS corrected 100%.
My impression is that Arches' had recently enjoyed a pretty substantial increase in their business and were going through some growing pains at the time our project was undertaken. They had recenlty hired a sort of business/project manager named
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
who came to our house several different days when we began to voice some complaints about how slow it was going and some of the shoddiness.
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
paid a lot of lip service to our concerns, but IMO did little to improve the siutation.
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
, who was supposed to be our dedicated project manager, (and Angel) were the ones who, at the end of the day, ensured that the problems were corrected and that the project finally got done.
Like I said, I feel like Angel is a business owner with integrity, and the quality of work they are capable of is very good, but
I'd hesitate to recommend them based upon some of our experiences as described above.

The story is a lot longer than this but I will keep it to just highlights.
We found
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to be dishonest, unreliable, disorganized and temperamental. He did a couple of small projects for us initially and they went pretty much as planned. While completing an indoor project for us he got word that we were shopping around for a contractor to build an outdoor kitchen for us. He begged us for that work promising something we wouldn’t forget, well he was right but we won’t ever forget for all the right reasons!
Dishonest -
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
told us he paid $25 for samples of copper and that he was only going to charge us cost on the countertop. We found out the samples were free and the copper was marked up by him. Seems small but is simply not the truth. At times he would tell us he was experienced with the skills he was using on the kitchen and then at other times would use a lack of those skills as an excuse for having to make changes.
Unreliable - The contract was signed on March 23nd and was to be finished for a “grand opening” party on May 10th, 7 weeks to do some framing and install a countertop.
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his wife were invited to the party. The stream of excuses for not making progress on the project were never ending. Most often the weather was blamed although there were more good days than bad days recorded on my weather station. Later he admitted he had been working on another project including remodelling his home. We ended up canceling the party and then later canceling the project with
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
as it was never going to be finished on time or with quality.
Disorganized - For a
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
design the plan quickly started to incur changes. It simply wasn’t well designed from the beginning. We quickly saw the reality that is was being designed “on the fly”.
Temperamental - The most worrying trait was
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
’s temper. My wife was subjected to shouting a couple of times and the countertop salesperson reported the same treatment. It got to the point where we weren’t comfortable with him approaching our property.
We ended up asking
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to leave the project. We paid an additional $1100 to complete the framing and then put a stone countertop on it. We had to sell at loss the $2500 of inappropriate materials that
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
had purchased.
We tried to reach a financial settlement with
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
but all negotiation attempts failed and his story of the facts kept changing. We paid $6348.8 in advances and were left with $2,528.00 in unusable materials and still have to pay $1100 to another contractor just to finish the framing. We ended up putting a different and more appropriate counter top on for additional cost.

North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
(BJ) was one of the few persons on Angies list able or willing to respond to my request for estimates. He came and took a look at my Kitchen and we discussed the scope of the project and my budget. He was very pleasant to talk with, had lot of good ideas and a lot of good reviews on Angies list. About a week later he emailed his proposal which was very detailed, but it was way too high for my budget, so we re-discussed ways to trim the cost. He came back with a few more proposals, but in the end his costs and the kitchen cabinet selection/cost were still too pricey for me. I ultimately found another provider that could give me a more affordable proposal. I felt confident that BJ would of done a great job and was sorry we couldn't move forward.

North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
, owner, is the person who came to remove the bookcase. Turns out the unit was very well constructed and they had used a lot of glue. What we thought would be a one hour job turned into about 3 hours. Not once did
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
complain, and he continued to be very careful in removing each piece so he wouldn't tear up the drywall.
I highly recommend this company to whomever has a demo or remodel project. I am keeping his business card in a safe place for any future projects.
North Plains Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's background is in the furniture industry so he takes great pride of ownership in building things, ie., like entertainment units, desks, or any other kind of built-in's.

I prefer to communicate through messaging. I messaged this provider twice regarding a request for an estimate. One was emailed 4-23-14 and the other was on 5-3-14. As of this date (7-28-14) I never received a reply. I would have at least appreciated a reply to let me know that they are not interested in even coming out to do an estimate.
We have hired someone else and our handicap ramp looks great!
I would not recommend

Entire process from estimate to completion of all the work was awesome. The estimate was very detailed and pretty much right on. Final bill was almost exactly what the estimate was. Can't say enough good things about the guys that worked on my house. Crew was
