"Contacted
on Friday afternoon, he answered my call while having lunch with his daughter and set an appointment for the following morning" (Saturday) to come and repair my fridge.
showed up right at the time
said theyd be arriving.
diagnosed the issues I was having with my fridge (cool on the bottom and warm on the top) and replaced the fan that was shot.
was in and out in about 90 minutes and my fridge was back to working less than 24 hours after I had become aware of the issue.

"Whenever I turned on the dryer it would squeal for a minute or two until it warmed up. When I saw the deal for a $99 service call that would be applied toward any" repairs, and read the great reviews, I decided that it was finally time to get the dryer fixed.
was very responsive, and worked with me to get the service call scheduled around my availability. He arrived promptly, took pains not to track mud in the house, determined what the problem was, gave me a price for what it would cost to repair (minus the $99), fixed the problem, tested the repair, and provided me with the warranty information. The service was exemplary -- I would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend them to someone else.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

I turned in my request to AHS in January. LAAS did not follow up. I had to call several times to get an appointment, and each time they had trouble finding my paperwork. First appointment was missed due to snow, and to their credit they called to cancel. We rescheduled and the repairman showed up on time. My dishwasher would not duplicate problem and the oven was fine. The Samsung front loading washer had been bouncing like it was out of balance and he was able to duplicate. He never opened up the washer case to look inside but informed me the washer would need new shocks and that parts would need to be ordered and it would take about a week. Next it was determined that what needed repair on my refrigerator was in a sealed area and beyond the scope of his ability and would need to be turned over to Samsung for repair. The man informed me that I would let the fabric softener compartment become clogged and that was causing the drawer to leak. I do not use fabric softener and the tray had leaked from the beginning. He argued with me. I told him I could read and directed him back to the utility room to look. As I said there was nothing in the fabric softener compartment and the only compartment that had anything in it was the bleach compartment because I had tried to do a load. It was NOT clogged. Rude and condescending. After one week I called LAAS only to be told my claim had been denied because the repair was caused by more than normal wear and tear and by overloading the washer. I was livid. I am a single woman who is disabled. There is no way on earth that washer has had more than normal wear and tear nor am I even physically capable of overloading it. The woman with whom I spoke informed me that when the shocks go out it is ALWAYS because of overloading. Incredulous, I asked her had she ever heard of defective parts? She then informed me that when there is twisted and bent metal it is always because of overloading. I then told her he was assuming because he did not see anything inside the washer. He was the reason I was denied and I wanted to complain. He was not honest. Or someone else. Reading other reviews I recognized the pattern and now wonder if it was him or someone else but it was indeed LAAS. I was referred back to AHS and told I could not complain. I would find a video on YouTube and try to do it myself before I would use

. AHS has been contacted, and they are now sending

to appeal LAAS dishonest assessment. Due to multiple counts of what I view as disorganization, rudeness, dishonesty, and as my grandmother would say, pure-d laziness, I would recommend avoiding this company. 3/18/15 update.

Very professional company. The owner was very punctual in calling when he said he would, and scheduling service around my crazy schedule was no problem. The technicians were very polite and competent. When it was discovered I needed a pump, they needed to return to install it, but that was no problem. I thought I had a slight leak under the sink, so they returned again with no hesitation and checked it out. Turned out everything was fine. I would definitely call them again anytime!! Thank you!!

It went well. I called on Saturday and got a Monday Appointment. After I did an Internet
Lebanon Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
I did some troubleshooting and called to tell them what I found. We slipped the appointment one day so they could get the parts.
I had a 1200-1400 appointment window and they arrived within the window and called enroute. They performed the repair in less than 30 minutes.
They found a part which was refurbished and the savings covered the service call costs, so it would have cost the same amount if I did the repair myself.
I based my choice on Angie's List recommendation and it paid off!

Called after hours and they called me back first thing the next morning. Laid out the costs clearly before we scheduled. Came out quickly. Fixed my cooktop. Didn't have the part in stock to fix my oven - not surprising because my oven is not a commen make/model. Got the part in quickly and promptly called to schedule installation. Tech came back and fixed the oven in just a few minutes. The tech was on-time, professional, and knowledgable both times he was in my home. Will definitely use again.

Do NOT trust these guys! My dryer went out and I need help. After calling a number I thought was the business and giving my CC thinking this was holding the appointment I was told when the service man showed up that no, that was just a booking agency and they had nothing to do with them! That was the start to this horrible relationship. The tech there then spent approximately 10 minutes and told my wife all was fine it was just a circuit in the dryer that needed replaced.
5 minutes later my wife called me at work and said it's not working again. I called the tech back and he then continued to tell me there's nothing he can do that it was an electrical problem with my electric box. So I paid $55 for the booking agent to find them for me... then gave them a check for $100 and I still have the same problem! They are straight up crooks! i would watch out for them!

They were an hour late in arriving. My window was 1-4 pm and they arrived shortly after 5:00 pm. I had to call to see if they were going to be able to come. Turns out they were training a new employee and that was taking more time. If I had known that, or if they had called to say they were running late, it would have been better. Never-the-less, they did a good job once they were here and the cost did not exceed the estimated price. I will call them in the future; they do good work.

Repairman came punctually as promised and diagnosed the problem just listening to the machine's loud racket during spin cycle. It took 2 weeks to get the replacement part. When he returned and replaced the part, the electric control board could not make the machine's motor work. The workman told me I needed a new motor, something I could identify with since in past months I'd had infrequent but short times of making the machine start.
