Hillsboro Home Builders Reviews

"I was very happy with his work and his professionalism. He is very experianced and even gave me some really good ideas regarding my remodel. Hard worker, on time and completes the job for a reasonable cost. I will use his services again and i would

"Emerald Valley Development (owner

, CCB#182338) self admittedly used unlicensed arborists while developing a property next to our home. The workers he hired, in addition to being unlicensed to perform the job, failed to use the proper equipment and procedures while falling the trees. The result was dropping an approximately 60 foot tall fir tree on our fence and garage. The tree crushed the fence, broke 2 trusses in the garage roof, and crushed the bbq grill, and damaged gutters and shingles on 8/18/13. We met with

that day. He indicated since he was a contractor, he’d take care of it and fix it if we worked directly with him, and that we’d be his top priority to make things right. His insurance agent also assured us that even though he had hired unlicensed workers, it was within his scope as a contractor to repair our house in a timely fashion and that as an individual would personally vouch for

to make good on his promises. Unfortunately, we were not at the top of his priority list at all and continued to treat us as “if I ignore them long enough, they’ll go away.” We agreed on a repair contract list finally on 9/23/13. The completion date was set as 10/5/13. Repairs were not completed until 10/25/13. We had to help coordinate getting inspections, continually prod him on the repairs, ask multiple times for timelines and updates, work with multiple foremen on what work was being done and ensuring that they had the contents of the contract and were following it. In short, we had to do a portion of his job for him to ensure the work was completed in a timely fashion and correctly. He did not inspect the work or supervise his crew properly. The vent in the garage roof was missed and we had to work directly with his crew to ensure it was put back as it was. We had to correct the repainting of the gutters/facia with the crew (paint was not originally matched correctly), etc... We had also expressed numerous times and by email/text/conversations that not having a bbq during the summer, and not having the fence repaired (only gate/access to backyard was smashed, and sealed off with temporary fencing) was a major inconvenience and that we’d like them repaired quickly. The replacement bbq and fence repair should have been trivial and done quickly. After 8 weeks, we were finally able to get the fence replaced in 2 days and a replacement bbq purchased. Finally, the work was completed and passed inspection. A functional repair, but by no means neat/clean construction work, lacks attention to detail for something that was his “highest priority to set this right.” Additionally had to clean up remaining debris ourselves.
"I called

in desperation, after another contractor struggled for almost 7 hours with no success, trying to install a tricky french door on our home.

came out promtly, brought all the neccesary materials with him, and right away I could see this was going to work out fine. He not only did a great job opn the door, but he also noticed some problems developing on the adjacent deck, which could have caused big problems later if not addressed. Couldn't have asked for more; showed up on time. did a great job and saved me some money in the long run. Highly satisfied with

"The provider did not meet the expectations. Charged the estimated cost for only half the work performed. It did not go well. The provider was not friendly and argued on costs.
"This was a major remodel and addition to a 1970's vintage home. Every single aspect of the project was executed professionally, timely, and at or under budget.

"I am very satisfied with the services that I received. Last year's freeze broke two water supply lines in my house, causing damage to drywall and cabinetry in the kitchen and garage. I was very concerned about having my kitchen torn apart with no place to cook.

"Our overall experience was very unsatisfactory. Deadlines were constantly changed. Moldy lumber was used flooring was never fixed. We didn't get upgrades that were paid for. He was reluctant to admit any mistakes, and charged extra for fixing his own mistakes. Worst experience you could possibly have. Felt that he was only interested in making a maximum profit and at a minimal effort. We would recommend to stay as far away as possible from this builder."
"All went well, When the rain came
Hillsboro Home Builders Provider Name Locked
had crews here at 0700 to cover up the exposed roof and took care of any water damage from the rain. Crews were fast and efficient in the demo of the house and quickly turn it around to get the house weathered in. Of all the contractors I used he is the only one who gave me a schedule and either met his schedule or beat the schedule which was one of the reasons I chose to work with
