"Was able to accommodate a request same day, was very prompt and gave us a window within 2 hours to be home. Really appreciated their ability to accommodate our need for someone to come out same day. Great experience.

"I too was referred by another repair company. They fit me in on the same day I called, which I really appreciated because I wasn't going to be able to stay home for the next few" days when they had openings. He replaced the part, but also went the extra mile to vacuum out all the lint inside the machine, the motor, and the dryer vent. He spent a good deal of time doing this, when he could've just popped in the part and left. Clearly, he was focused on doing a great job. The drying is working again! I'd trust them with my other appliances and highly recommend this company.

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

I had used
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
to reface my cabinets some time ago and they did a reasonably good job. I was interested in making another modification so contacted them again.
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
came out and we agreed he would handle my request the Monday before Thanksgiving. He took with him a large piece of laminate that had been used on my cabinets on the first job. Not only did he not show up or call, he refused to respond to any of my follow up calls asking him to return my laminate. Do not use this company - they are not reliable and

It went amazingly well.
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
is the classic Get It Done Correctly kind of person. He is clearly meticulous and intelligent. So he came over as soon as they could squeeze us into his busy schedule, and got to work immediately undoing and then redoing to perfection our earlier appliance installer's mistakes.
I wish we had used him the first time, because I would rather have someone who costs a little more but does their work in careful precision than get the sloppy corner cutting mess we got with the installers we used before.
I did not realize that when you plan to buy appliances, bring
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
's phone number along with you - he can pick up and deliver the appliances to you from any appliance store other than Home Depot/Lowe's, and will install them the right way instead of the quick and careless one. Now I know, and I hope you do too. : )

I called the "
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
" number. Got a nice reception (from
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
) where she made an appointment the next business day at 9am and asked for a $55 fee for the service person to come and make a diagnosis and provide a quote. If I decided to go ahead with the service, the $55 would be applied to the quote....More /> After providing my credit card number, I hung up. It then occurred to me that I did not know the exact name of the company so I called back to speak with
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
. I was concerned that I provided my credit card number to an unknown company. The man answering said that she would call me back. After 30 min, I called again - she was not available so I asked to speak with a supervisor. After many questions on my part I finally determined that I was calling a 1-800 service that hired local contractors. I asked who that local contractor was, name an phone number. I received
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
name and number.
I called him and he said that he could not make 9am but could do 1pm. I asked what company and he said he was an independent contractor. The next day at 1:30 I called him, he said his truck's water pump had broken and he would be coming in his personal car. He arrived at 2:30 with another person in a separate car. They spend 45 minutes to determine that it was a broken regulator switch which they did not have the part and would return tomorrow.
At this point I asked about the charge and was told he had a flat $150 charge, plus parts. I said that I understood the $55 fee would be applied to that. He said no, that was a separate arrangement. We argued and I finally said okay, with a plan to call "
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
" for my $55 back.
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
said he'd be back at 9am the following day. Noone came at 9am so at 9:30, I began to call.
I was told that the parts store didn't open until 9am etc and then he promised he'd be there by 10:30. At 11:15 they arrived. The dryer was fixed and I paid him $200. Total cost: $255 (Part $50). Total time cost for me - 1.5 business days, without counting all the phone calls.
Next time, I am calling
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
. I am unimpressed with Angies list referrals. While the contractor did the job and was polite, there clearly was a

The first guy called me at 11 the night previous to the appointment, to confirm. A little late, but OK. Certainly good communication, and we confirmed for 11.
After 3 phone calls in the morning, confirming for 11, he called for directions at 12:30. Showed up at 1, walked into the kitchen, asked what the problem was, and told me it needed a new control board. I said "That's supposed to be the end point of a diagnostic process, not the start". He grunted, and said (seriously, a quote) "Which one is it?" (I have two dishwashers).
He then gets on his cell phone and calls my house phone by accident. While that is going on, there's a knock on the door, someone's looking for Apartment C at my address. I said there's no apartment here, and he said he was from
Beaverton Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
. I was flustered, the two of them introduced themselves, and repairman two opened up the appropriate dishwasher.
He spent 3 minutes looking at the dishwasher, removed the rotor, pulled out the assembly underneath, and told me that this was the problem, and that I could easily replace it myself. I nodded, said fine, moved them out of the door with a $65 check. Just to verify, I called the manufacturer to verify that the advice given was utter nonsense, which they confirmed. They also suggested a drying process which took about 2 hours and fixed the dishwasher.
I will grant that I have a somewhat exotic dishwasher, but this was well beyond the

came 20 minutes late at 5:20 with two servicemen. One was friendly and the other one looked like he did not speak english. I explained the who story and they ran the machine for 10 minutes. They called their supervisor who said it would need two electronic boards. I was told it would arrive in 3 to 4 business days. I never received a call back from them. Everytime I called them I either did not get through or I was told the part did not come in yet. I finally called Geek Squad on Septembet 19th 2014 after numorius phone calls to the provider. Best Buy called
